I’m not keen on the shifts either, I’ve picked up a few and did ok but would have made more in a surge. I suppose they have worked out what’s the quickest and cheapest way to keep the queue down.

@lynsey91 I’ve been doing it for a year, I’ve never seen it so busy. The queues usually run to about 2/300. I’ve been on when it’s been single figures.

lynsey91 · 06/12/2020 17:59

@SingHallelujah

Crisp isn't supposedly busy, it's very busy. You can see the numbers for yourself.

If you aren't getting content you need to flag it. I'm wondering if people on shifts are working very slowly as the numbers aren't going down. I dislike the shifts too and have only worked a few. I am doing one later but don't think I'll do any more. I prefer working in shorter bursts.

I have just looked and the numbers are high now but they weren't this morning when I worked.

I am fairly new so not that fast so like to work when there are surges if possible. I don't think £2 extra is worth it if I am not earning a lot because of my speed and for having to concentrate for a full hour rather than just the time I am comfortable with.

I guess if enough people don't like the new system and don't take the shifts they will drop it. I certainly hope so

YonderTweek · 06/12/2020 18:12

I was getting all excited about potentially hearing from the project tomorrow but it's actually going to be the early hours of Tuesday again, isn't it? It's funny how I first stressed about it so much and now I really want to do it again. I want to buy expensive stuff again so I can return it. Haha. I got my husband this retro gaming t-shirt on the previous round and it's so cool and he loves it. Just that would have made it a successful round but I got other cool things too.

Is anyone waiting for a payment from CW? I think they were supposed to be doing a payment run on Friday but I've got nothing. I have made like £100 on those eye movement tracking things last month which is absolutely crazy considering that I usually make around £3 per month on their site. Xmas Grin

WotsitWiggle · 06/12/2020 20:48

@Baby89

A**r is straightforward, you follow the links to buy an item WRITE DOWN THE JOB ID, then review the ordering experience for each item. Then follow another link to put all your receipts in. When items arrive, take photos and review the item. Then either keep item, throw it away, return it or attempt to sell it.

I got hanger space savers, fridge syringe, gaming t-shirt, painting by numbers, cheap trousers, cheap ring, plastic slippers, bias binding tool and foam petal bear. Most got sent from China so returns were not worthwhile (I've tried chargeback on one item just because they annoyed me with offering £4 refund when it cost £20). I'd like to try it again though to see if I get anything better!

Baby89 · 06/12/2020 20:58

Thank you @WotsitWiggle, do I print screen anything? Also the personal details such as bank account , name on receipt do I cover that? @YonderTweek , that's sounds amazing however I can't find where the eye tracker job is or rather was on CW, can you direct me to it thank you.

YonderTweek · 06/12/2020 21:28

@Baby89 You'll have to screenshot your order confirmation which shows what you have bought and how much it cost (incl. delivery charges etc), as well as the actual product page when you're buying the product. It will show them the product details and price. I thought you were supposed to blur personal details but in the end I didn't do it because no one else did. Grin They can't see your bank details and the order confirmation usually only has your name and email address in it. You could probably take out your delivery address if you wanted to. Yes, always write down the job ID for each item! That's the most important thing.

Oh yeah, the eye tracking thing. It pops up in the main jobs menu every now and again but disappears quickly, so get on it if you see it. Grin

Baby89 · 06/12/2020 21:33

Thank you @YonderTweek, makes sense now, what name is the eye tracker job under? Thanks for input

WotsitWiggle · 06/12/2020 21:45

@Baby89 there's instruction videos and I kept the instructions on one window so I could flick between if I wasn't sure. Sorry, yes, you screenshot the page with the item you buy that shows the cost. I printed the receipt to pdf so didn't blank out my name/address.

peabrainer · 06/12/2020 23:51

Potato people: does anyone know what "GT" stands for on the Dashboard? There seem to be loads of items in that queue

lilmishap · 07/12/2020 09:29

I've earned a bloody fortune on Pots. I'm liking this!

TheLolaMontez · 07/12/2020 09:34

Struggling for motivation today. Been potatoing but I'm very slow this morning. All adds up though.

TheLolaMontez · 07/12/2020 09:35

How much are you working @lilmishap ? I've earned more than usual so far but nowhere near a fortune 🤣

superpinkgirl · 07/12/2020 09:41

I'm quite liking the shifts on potato as well, I am not the quickest so not earning as much as some but I managed three hours yesterday and hoping to get faster. GT is really high but I also don't know what that means! I don't know what 'missing value' means either!

NCforsafety · 07/12/2020 10:07

Did anyone get the A**r email this am? I haven't. Can't find anything on the chat channel either.

Gatekeeper · 07/12/2020 10:15

No I haven't either

TeddyDidIt · 07/12/2020 10:17

@NCforsafety @gatekeeper the launch is scheduled for 5pm PST, which is around 1am tomorrow morning for the UK
I keep having to work it out to be sure! Smile

lilmishap · 07/12/2020 10:58

I've managed double my usual monthly earnings in the first week, I've obviously been doing far less than I was capable of for months!

Adelais · 07/12/2020 11:02

Im also not liking the new potato shift system. I have a baby at home so it’s virtually impossible to have an uninterrupted hour during the day. I could probably do an hour from 9pm when the kids are in bed but don’t really want to do a whole hour then.
Bring back the surges!

lilmishap · 07/12/2020 11:04

GT no idea Missing Value (I think) is the ones you mark as foreign, other issue or unsure (?) that get sent back into the queue.

I think! Compliance audit sounds scary

seizethecuttlefish · 07/12/2020 11:19

Missing value is new clients where the amount isn't set yet. I did well last night but really struggling to find whole hours. Glad it's busy though. I remember when there was nothing coming in and it was torture.

whysotriggered · 07/12/2020 12:02

I passed the potato test! I wasn't sure how well it went and felt a bit panicked for the first half so I am very pleased. Good luck to others who are taking it soon.

lilmishap · 07/12/2020 12:28

@seizethecuttlefish Aah I did not know that!

lannister · 07/12/2020 13:39

done a few potato shifts so far, although after half an hour i'm fed up and keep looking at the time. i'm not a fan of the new system either but because am slow, i'm going to stick with the shifts as it bumps my pay

CrepuscularCritter · 07/12/2020 13:47

I've had three emails to say I am on A**r which is puzzling, but will wait and see if I get the proper launch one at 1am tonight. Can I just ask those of you that have done this before how the purchasing works? Do you get a single item to purchase and then the next one is shown and so on, or do you get a full list so you can check each one out before making your spending decisions? I am thinking that it would be easier to manage the spend if you could see at once everything you are going to purchase.

Buster27 · 07/12/2020 13:49

@CrepuscularCritter I have only done one round but you had to go through the items one at a time (as far as I'm aware there wasn't a way to check what the next items would be).
