@Gatekeeper I would skip it - isn't there a skip option to do with not delivering to you?

TeddyDidIt · 09/12/2020 19:45

I had to skip 5 this time - all for different reasons

YonderTweek · 09/12/2020 19:53

@Ithinkim

Has anyone on Am@& ever redone the reimbursements? I think I've got some wrong with the currency and want to redo them.
I just read some messages from the project's rep in the chat and they said that if you think you've done your receipts wrong you can resubmit, but only the ones you think are wrong. You don't have to do the ones that are correct.

The same person has finally confirmed that we don't have to do conversions when we're doing the reimbursements. They said they are updating the guidelines, and that we just have to answer the questions on the ADAP form as they are. Phew, this was winding me right up!

TheHumanFund · 09/12/2020 20:37

Hi, I'm new here but been lurking for a while. I've been doing App for a year but this was my first round on Am so I'm hoping I did everything right. I'm really happy with the things I got - a cashmere jumper, firewood, beer gift box, bonsai gift box, fairy lights, a set of cushion covers and a few dodgy looking clothes from China. Just got fingers crossed now that I did everything right and the reimbursements go through ok. Reading this thread has been such a help so hope I can contribute once I know I've done this correctly!

Tattiespuds · 09/12/2020 20:43

Crispers - anyone know the average PPI for Mon? is it the same for M2?

Gatekeeper · 09/12/2020 21:17

thanks all- I've just skipped it

Gatekeeper · 09/12/2020 21:19

I am envious at everyone's purchases...mine were tripe. ...a door bow, screwdriver, some sticky plastic, painkillers and some dusters...pah!

Tinging · 09/12/2020 21:20

Just finished my am*r purchasing and I’m quite pleased. I got a eufy handheld vac, Mac make-up, a personalised kids blanket, firelighters, gel nail varnish, earbuds, macrame wall art and a fancy coat hook. Not so great items, 50metres of rope, some horrendously garish Christmas lights coming from China and a really awful angels in heaven Christmas decoration. Have done the reimbursements for all but one who didn’t include the price on the order confirmation or subsequent email. Hopefully they send that through with the shipping info ASAP.

Thanks for everyone’s help with it on here, I found the chat full of questions and hardly any answers, this thread is so much better!

Redcrayons · 09/12/2020 21:22

@Tattiespuds PPI is the Same for all. They say on the wiki that some content is slightly higher because there’s more questions, but don’t tell you which ones.

MacTheFork · 09/12/2020 21:25

Lurker here. Thanks to everyone for posting so much useful info on these threads. I’ve just started doing A*ur and mostly getting on okay.

Can anyone help - I’ve got an item which the seller can’t give me a receipt for - pay by PayPal Friends and Family - so I think I should skip it but there is no obvious skip option for this. Anyone got any suggestions?

Gatekeeper · 09/12/2020 21:32

bit disappointed...there was 3 subscription services, two I couldn't open as there was a glitch....bums. Bloody dusters!

AlternativePerspective · 09/12/2020 21:36

Just placemarking.

whysotriggered · 09/12/2020 21:40

I think a lot of us got the beer ad!

I did my first potato stint, I think I only did about 10 items but it took about 25 minutes. It was nerve-racking and I hope I didn't mess up.

unicornpoopoop · 09/12/2020 21:50

I'm always jealous of everyone else's purchases. Even the ones people say are crap.

I didn't have any high cost items this time which I'm disappointed by so nothing worth returning really.

I got a gym top (from a nice gym clothes shop but looks like the worse thing they had for sale on there), £5 shorts, a resistance band (already have these), ASOS dress looks ok, a £40 Christmas stocking (could probably get from b&m for a tenner), a phone case for a phone I don't have and a hijab.. I also got a hijab last month so looks like I'm starting a collection

WotsitWiggle · 09/12/2020 21:54

@YonderTweek I didn't convert any $ purchases last time, just put the currency as dollars as per the receipt. They convert to £ at their exchange rate though which is worse than what I was charged, so I miss out by a pound or so overall.

On their way to me this time: cheap top (no doubt from China), fleece lined leggings, mens hoodie, eyebrow pencil, hair extensions, shawl knitting pack, baby taggie, ear pods, eyeliner, kettle bell and very expensive door knob.

I came very close to reaching the limit - I thought I had about £10 to go, but one of the orders charged more than the payment page had said! They added taxes which I only noticed when I did the reimbursement, so I was within £3 (gulp).

Again I'm not 100% but I think read somewhere that you might be able to go ahead with the purchase if you get them to give you a breakdown of the item costs and then screenshot the messages? I think it may have been in the guidelines but I'm not sure. My gut instinct would be to skip but I'd probably double check it first.

Haha, I'm so pleased I don't have to do conversions. I'm really not good at them.

I'm still not done! I had 14 items, I've bought 8 and still have 2 items to go. And approximately 95 dollars to spend. Think I'll leave it till tomorrow because my husband looks like he could do with some company. Grin It's really easy to get into the habit of spending every evening sitting in a corner with a laptop, but I have to make myself take evenings off every now and again.

unicornpoopoop · 09/12/2020 22:21

I lost the ID for my last item 🤦‍♀️ does that mean no reimbursement for me?

whysotriggered · 09/12/2020 23:03

@unicornpoopoop this happened to some of us last month, send a message to support. Last month they approved our reimbursements without IDs. But I know they keep warning that they aren't going to do that anymore although that's what they said last month so no harm in asking.

MacTheFork · 10/12/2020 08:08

Thanks YonderTweek Smile

endofday · 10/12/2020 08:12

Was anyone else expecting Appen to pay today? Thought it was always a Thursday? Any ideas when it will be?

I thought I'd seen 13th, but that's a Sunday so not sure now!
seizethecuttlefish · 10/12/2020 09:06

The Am project said something about the payment run on the 14th. I could really do with it before all my previous purchases come off my bank account. Shock

Woohoo! a good day here:
I'm finally joining the crispers, passed the training qualification today after first applying nearly a year ago!
Just finishing off my final Am*r purchases today, I got stuck on one for a while waiting for a seller to respond/not respond before I could skip it.
Favourite purchase this round: a £65 craft beer gift set!

GailLondon · 10/12/2020 09:48

I would expect Am*r payment as part of your overall invoice payment, around the 13th/14th normally. Its all gone through fine for me the last couple of months

ElectricEels · 10/12/2020 10:20

Resubmitted all my wrongly converted invoices this morning. What a pain! First of my items arrives today! Torn on whether to keep them- it's Mac make up brushes and I do need new ones but they are £55 and I'm cheap so might send them back Grin
