@ElectricEels jealous of your purchases! I've not started mine yet - hoping they're as good!

seizethecuttlefish · 08/12/2020 19:57

Good purchases this time but I suspect some will not arrive. I had something with $44 postage and it kept crashing when I tried to check out. Wouldn't post here, turns out! Lucky escape.

Some really random stuff and a couple with decent returns policies, which will be going back.

@seizethecuttlefish yeh the £2 bonus shows on statement rather than on dashboard. What I mean is for the first slot I did I only managed 198 items and made £6.39 (£8.39 with bonus) so didn't make min wage. second slot i did 231 items and made £7.80 so with bonus taking it to £9.80 I made min wage there. Just did a third slot so will give it an hour and refresh and see what i managed there. Its still better than the £0 i would have made during those hours but I'd like to get fast enough to at the very least make min wage

I agree @ZetaPuppis its very convenient so will carry on in hope i get faster and make more money soon.
@ElectricEels jealous of your purchases! I've not started mine yet - hoping they're as good!
Fingers crossed for you! I was a bit cheesed off at the first two and nearly sacked it off but it got better.

Tinging · 08/12/2020 20:27

Am8r people is there a way to see what you have submitted on ADAP or does it just disappear?
I tried to submit my first one and it said I had timed out (which I didn’t think I had) and now when I try to upload my pdf it won’t let me as it has already been uploaded.
I don’t know whether to rename the pdf and start again.

ElectricEels · 08/12/2020 20:37

@Tinging it happened to me a few times and my count of work done didn't go up so I redid it. Said the pdf already existed so I retook the screen shot and did it again. Wouldn't work when I just renamed it. I've possibly submitted some twice but my count is 10 and I bought 10 things so hopefully ok.

Tinging · 08/12/2020 20:47

@ElectricEels brill thank you, renaming didn’t work for me either, I realised I still had the pdf url copied from the failed attempt so just pasted again and submitted and it is counting 1 now. Hopefully it has worked. I’m glad it’s not just me!

WotsitWiggle · 08/12/2020 20:58

The purchases are getting better - UK stuff now!

The ADAP knows if it's the same image, even if you rename it, so you do need to alter it somehow if resubmitting.

Last time I saved my emailed receipts as pdfs and uploaded those, this time I've screenshot the confirmation page, does anyone know if that's ok or should I do the receipts instead?

TeddyDidIt · 08/12/2020 21:04

@TheSilentStars Nov was my first month for Am and after the first five purchases, my credit card contacted me to check it wasn't fraud Grin

TeddyDidIt · 08/12/2020 21:07

@WotsitWiggle That's what I did last time - uploaded screenshots of the order confirmations - and it all went through fine. As long as it has the shop name, confirms the amounts you paid, etc.

TeddyDidIt · 08/12/2020 21:11

I haven't played it well this month. Last time I maxed out my $500 on 11 purchases, so when I was given 15 this time, I didn't make the most of being able to choose stuff in early purchases and just went for lower value (but nice) stuff in case something really juicy came up later. But then I got quite a few low value products and had to skip 5 for various reasons so I only spent $300 on 10 products this time. I did get to choose a washbasin for our new downstairs toilet, which we were going to do this weekend anyway, so that was a win!

whysotriggered · 08/12/2020 21:30

@WotsitWiggle I used confirmations last time and everything went through fine. This time round, most of mine are confirmations with the odd email receipt

WotsitWiggle · 08/12/2020 21:42

Thank you, that's good to know, otherwise I'd have wasted time!

I'm too slow at buying, I fell down a couple of rabbit holes browsing stores but at least there's some nice stuff this time so it's been fun.

YonderTweek · 08/12/2020 23:29

Holy moly I spent hours browsing an interior design website trying to work out what I want. Grin I was given 14 items, I've only bought 4 and only have like £150 to play with. I'm going for the expensive stuff I can return, but also want it to be as nice as possible in case I can't return. I have bought a Christmas dress (actually quite a nice one, kind of Kate Middleton-esque, lol), men's boots (really hoping they fit me because they're awesome!), some weird mega expensive couples activity book thing that I will return and a fancy set of knives. Grin One of my products was a sofa and I was like Shock.
I'm still stuck with the conversion thing but I'll just leave my foreign currency invoices to the side for now... Back on it tomorrow!

Luckily my other Ap project kicked off again this evening so I managed a couple of hours whilst doing my purchases. Multitasking!

Oh yeah I just do confirmation emails straight to PDF and upload. Worked last time.

AdaShelby · 08/12/2020 23:43

I'm doing the shopping one too but noticed some of my confirmation emails haven't got order dates on, is that okay?

YonderTweek · 09/12/2020 00:14

@AdaShelby If you do a PDF of the whole email it will show you when it has been sent to you, and that should do the trick. Smile

Rad2016 · 09/12/2020 07:31

Thanks for the Dec thread. I've just been lost in my own world. Will be doing my A**r purchases today. Been a shite day yesterday as our car got stolen yesterday but luckily we had a tracker and found damaged inside as they were trying to remove the satellite device inside. It looks a mess but just glad nobody was hurt as the engine was literally just turned on.

ElectricEels · 09/12/2020 07:46

Oh @Rad2016 that's so crap. I'm sorry Sad

Osquito · 09/12/2020 08:07

Any Potato-ers here who have bought a new cheap laptop/pc specifically for the work; what kind did you get and are you happy with it?
My one is getting old and I’m scared of it dying on me before I’ve got a backup.

AdaShelby · 09/12/2020 08:33

@YonderTweek thanks, shall I resubmit them?

Only a couple have dates on. I did 8 in total. I don't want to not get paid as I spent £320.

Claudiawinklemansfringe · 09/12/2020 08:41

Gawd, so sorry about your car @Rad2016

I'm watching all your A purchases with interest as haven't applied yet but thinking about it. My Tr year-long project ends early in the New Year so it would be good to have something else lined up along with my surveys/testing and potato work!

TeddyDidIt · 09/12/2020 08:44

Sorry about your bad news @Rad2016
I envy you still having your purchases to do Smile Hope you get some good stuff come up!

minnimiss · 09/12/2020 08:48

Just posted this on the wrong thread! I need my morning coffee! Well I've completed my Am** for this month. 12 purchases- A small handbag/phone bag, a child's maths book, a frighteningly realistic reborn doll, a dress, a designer men's T-shirt, a ring, a necklace, a lovely rug, a cuddly penguin, MAC concealer, a door knob and the highest value item is some sort of equestrian type thing that holds your phone to film you as you ride.... this will be returned. Imma bit gutted because I could have bought anything I wanted from MAC but had hardly any budget left. If that had come up first I could have blown 150 dollars on a gift set. But I do really need some concealer. It's been interesting!

CrepuscularCritter · 09/12/2020 09:49

Sorry to hear about your car @Rad2016; that's such a pain.

Can I ask those Am**ing if you are working on laptop or mobile? I set aside today to review the training this am, then get spending later.

CrepuscularCritter · 09/12/2020 09:58

Just started reviewing the training, and the first slide says to use laptop. Will reinsert my brain with added caffeine and try harder...
