I’ve only done 7 and only got about £70 left to spend oops

TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 15:17

Hmm. That said it looks like the "bit" that Butler is done on if I look at the pdf.

TeddyDidIt · 08/12/2020 15:41

I don't know if I'm luckier this time or if they've sorted out the market, but I've done 9 purchases so far and none of them are coming from China!

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 15:45

Can I please check how to do the converting as I’m getting close to budget and don’t want to go over. Am I right doing it like this, so if something was £104.85 I multiply that by 0.7668 so it’s $80.61?

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 15:47

No that can’t be right Blush

TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 15:52

I've just popped my A* cherry.
It seemed to go quite smoothly but blimeyheck I'm realising now why you were all in a tizz last month!

bookgirl1982 · 08/12/2020 15:54

@MarigoldMoonStone I think it's the other way so divide by .7588 - the dollar amount should be higher than pounds.

TeddyDidIt · 08/12/2020 15:56

@MarigoldMoonStone you divide the amount you spent in pounds by 0.7668 to get the dollar amount.

Or multiply 500 by 0.7668 to see how many pounds you can go to Smile

TeddyDidIt · 08/12/2020 15:57

Sorry, took me ages to actually press post so someone already answered Grin

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 16:07

Thank you! Anyone else max out before you could do them all?

Tattiespuds · 08/12/2020 16:13

@ZetaPuppis & @lannister I did an 1hr slot this month and came back refreshed dashboard a few hours later and I thought I was getting faster but I only did 198items value at £6.39 so even with the shift bonus I'm still not making minimum wage. I've just down a second shift so will check back later and see how I did there.
wow @peabrainer 150 in 15mins is amazing!! if i can get to 80-100 in 15mins i'll be delighted

seizethecuttlefish · 08/12/2020 16:29

@Tattiespuds I was wondering if it showed on your dashboard or came through at the end of the month? I'd convinced myself I wouldn't see it till my invoice so that answers my question 😀

OP posts:
seizethecuttlefish · 08/12/2020 16:39

@Tattiespuds scratch that. Just read it and the payment isn't on your dashboard. You're richer than you think!

Mancbee · 08/12/2020 17:13

Can anyone help me out on am** please? I'm only on the first item and having a panic! The website I'm buying from is in dollars but at the checkout I get the option to pay in dollars or gbp, which would I choose? My screen shot of the product and price is showing dollars so I'm lost! Thanks 🙏

Ilovefood1 · 08/12/2020 17:19

@MarigoldMoonStone I know, it makes no sense! I think I will just leave it as well

luckycat872 · 08/12/2020 17:19

@LimeJellyforBrains Thank you. I've worked for A*n on-and-off for 7 years now, and this is the first time I've experienced something like this where you spend ages doing the "training" and are then led to believe you will be taking part in something on a certain date, only for that to then not happen. So, combined with the promise of exciting "free stuff" having been dangled like carrots, it was a bit disappointing! Unsure if it really is random selection, or maybe due to not confirming availability as quickly as others or something, as I may have taken a day or two.. Am not sure if I'll be able to commit to this again, as I already do an hourly project which isn't really providing me with enough work, so my plan had been to do A*r this once, and then apply for a second hourly project at the end of the month to supplement the existing one. I have recruited my sister to the company though on the back of A*r, so maybe she will end up doing it instead. For some reason this was the first time they ever contacted me about this particular project. Confused

And thanks @Bettyshotspot for the customs info. From what I saw it wouldn't be an issue ordering from America due to the maximum spend per item, but I didn't get round to researching European countries etc. Have personally ordered stuff from both Japan and Korea in the past, where I think I was sort of expecting I may get a customs charge, but ended up not doing so. Think it may just come down to chance/bad luck in some cases.

Buster27 · 08/12/2020 17:21

Mixed bag for me Grin actually got to choose from a website this time, jewellery but didn't like any of it so opted for a £100 necklace that I'll return! Highlight was an edible pot of glitter than cost a tenner.. plus £50 postage Grin

@Mancbee Had a similar issue (website showed £, receipt shows $). Don't know if I did it right so wouldn't like to advise but the chat is pretty helpful and quick to respond if you don't get an answer here soon.

ElectricEels · 08/12/2020 17:21

Finished Amr. Got a mix of a couple of utter shit that look a pain to return, one I'll gift, some good high value ones I can return easily (thanks for the tip @bettyshotspot*!) and a couple that I might keep for myself - Mac brushes, a bra that looks good and a hair styling thing I've been thinking about buying for ages.

Found it very stressful to start with but then got into it, paid for it all on PayPal credit so I won't be out of pocket and can claim back if they don't arrive - and also claim for shipping costs for the annoying ones that don't refund them if you return.

Slightly stressing about the reimbursement one and whether I should have put it in the currency purchased rather than converting as it seems odd to have price on receipt and currency on receipt. I've converted but worried I'll be a bit down if they take my converted price as dollar price Confused. It does say to convert though so we will see.

So now do I wait for them to arrive before reviewing? Or do I do anything now?

ElectricEels · 08/12/2020 17:39

@buster27 £50 postage Grin

Mancbee · 08/12/2020 17:43

Thanks @Buster27 I'd be expecting that glitter to turn up in a limo with champagne on ice for that! Grin ...I'm keeping an eye on chat and it seems there are a few people with the same question so I'm hoping someone comes along with an answer! It looks like the guidelines have changed slightly so that's confusing things too, I'm pretty sure once I get this bit worked out I'll feel a bit more confident cracking on with it Smile

fiddie · 08/12/2020 18:11

For the shopping project, I paid in dollars but I convert that and put the amount in GBP on the reimbursement? Even though the invoice was dollars? And Marketplace uk?

Thanks

ZetaPuppis · 08/12/2020 18:18

@Tattiespuds thanks for that. I know my speed gives me a low rate but for the convenient type of work it is, I’m happy to carry on.

whysotriggered · 08/12/2020 18:38

Just finished A88r, I wasn't sure I was going to take part after last month but decided to go for it again. So ended up with 14 ads, 12 purchases. I think I was relatively lucky this time and got some decent stuff for myself and the family with a sprinkle of pointless tatt. I've also done all the reimbursements so just waiting for things to arrive now.

Had very little money left by the end.

TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 19:13

I've done half and will go back later. I kept thinking my bank would ring me and go "Silent Silent, you don't want this shite surely?" Grin I think I've done it right. And come January (guess where all my stuff is coming from...) I'll be gifting repulsive objects to the parish. Grin

WotsitWiggle · 08/12/2020 19:21

I'm half way through my A* purchases and all I've got so far is clothing obviously shipping from China. Hope the second half is better, it's a bit too time consuming for the pay rate if the products are shit!
