I'm on Amur too! Xmas Grin
The busiest week of the year in my real life job just got busier. Going to now reread all of you from last month!

bettyshotspot · 08/12/2020 12:26

@luckycat872 fingers crossed for next time - at least you can learn from our mistakes Grin In response to your customs question, I was charged for two items last round, uploaded the receipts and was reimbursed, although I do make sure I choose a lower value item if allowed when it's coming from overseas

I'm on round 3 of A**r and getting the hang of it now I think. When I first did it I was choosing stuff I wanted or would be suitable for gifts if I was able to pick from a site, now I'm buying the most expensive thing within budget from any site that comes up with a good returns policy so at least I know I'm earning a certain amount and can spend it on something I really want Grin I also pay for fast delivery so I can get the task over and done with as quickly as possible.

Luckily this time I only had one item not load so purchased 6 and all were UK sites with 5 offering returns so hopefully I'll earn a bit and it'll be straight forward (famous last words)

Februarycat · 08/12/2020 13:00

@lilmishap I'm not a business so not sure why they want all that info on Payoneer and half of it is not relevant to me, did you fill it all in or miss the business part off?

Mancbee · 08/12/2020 13:16

Relieved to see the Am*r reimbursement form is already showing in my ad#p account before I start since I had already created the account for a different project and I wasn't sure if it would be there.

LimeJellyforBrains · 08/12/2020 13:18

@bettyshotspot That's a good tip about buying higher value items with a good returns policy from a UK site, I'll try to remember that, thanks! Not applicable so far of course Hmm

Also about paying for faster delivery, seeing as we'll be reimbursed for it.

TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 13:34

I'm rereading everything Amur and have my first daft doubt.
What's an ADAP account? Have I got one? Is it the normal core login wotsit?

LimeJellyforBrains · 08/12/2020 13:39

I think Ap have changed the Am** £/US$ exchange rate from 0.75 to 0.7688.

I think that's better for us, yes? Google says the rate is currently 0.75, so in fact we make a teeny tiny profit? Or have I got it the wrong way round?

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 13:43

Hi everyone, first month of A**r here also and just wondering on the reimbursement upload where it says URL of file - I don't really get what that is? or how I get it? Could anyone help please

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 13:45

oh ignore me i've just seen it! haha

bettyshotspot · 08/12/2020 13:55

My ID is invalid (looks like a known problem) so can't do reimbursements yet - what did I say about it running smoothly? Hmm

Baby89 · 08/12/2020 13:57

Good luck everyone with your am*r purchases , hopefully I'll join you next month.

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 14:05

My ADAP doesn’t say enter price in local currency. Says price on receipt and then currency on receipt

seizethecuttlefish · 08/12/2020 14:09

@MarigoldMoonStone there should be a drop down box asking you which currency it is. Mine has that. No way I'd be able to do the calculations Confused

OP posts:
MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 14:15

Yep got that :)
Glad I’m not having to covert it!
Liking it so far! Can’t believe I didn’t think about paying extra for the faster delivery haha need to remember I get the money back so don’t need to be tight!

YonderTweek · 08/12/2020 14:15

I'm in the reimbursement tool too and wondering if it has changed. I bought something in dollars and it just asked for my market (UK), what is the price on my receipt and what is the currency on the receipt. It kind of makes it look like we don't need to do the conversions? Like I just have to put the amount in dollars and choose the dollars option. Confused

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 14:23

I’m also wondering about when I go on a website it says the price in dollars then automatically changes it to pounds but then the receipt says dollars - so on purchase survey do I do the dollars or the pounds?

Ilovefood1 · 08/12/2020 14:27

@MarigoldMoonStone Same here, but I've just been told in the chat that in ADAP you must always put it in your local currency! I put it in dollars, which is what I purchased in.
I can't get a straight answer as to whether I should re-submit them using pounds instead of dollars.

unicornpoopoop · 08/12/2020 14:29

@bettyshotspot

Are you in shops or e-commerce? So far I've not had a choice of anything. Unless I'm doing it wrong. If it takes you to a single item, you have to buy that item right? And I thought if it was unavailable or too expensive you had to skip? Or am I doing it wrong

TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 14:36

@seizethecuttlefish- as a thread guru of long-standing can you answer my question? Is ADAP just your normal Appen account that we use for everything? All the tasks we do?

TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 14:37

Clicked too soon, meant to say thank you in advance Brew and Cake

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 14:42

@Ilovefood1. That doesn’t make sense though does it. It clearly says price on receipt then currency on receipt. Let me know if you hear about resubmitting but I am leaving it as it is for now else I think it could really confuse things. And why would they have changed it from saying in your local currency like it is on the guidelines video 😫

MarigoldMoonStone · 08/12/2020 14:45

@TheSilentStars. If you have ever done B or W*i it’s the same page you use for that

bettyshotspot · 08/12/2020 14:47

@unicornpoopoop yes in shops most take you to a single product but a few have been to a catalogue where you can choose - Ecommerce you can purchase anything else if too expensive or unavailable so more a tip for those on ecommerce Wink I've had to buy some hideous things Grin

seizethecuttlefish · 08/12/2020 14:53

@TheSilentStars your email will contain your ADAP number. The link takes you to a page that has the tool for reimbursement. You might need to register if you've not used it before. I think. Hope that makes sense?

OP posts:
TheSilentStars · 08/12/2020 15:07

@seizethecuttlefish and @MarigoldMoonStone
Thank you!
I've done But* and Nile in the past. But not the ones you mention. So I possibly have to register on that bit. I'll have a poke around Grin
