Fingers crossed :) I didn't kid. Either it was just knowing if you had to remember any details to use later on in the call etc. But being a customer is more worthwhile if you can get your calls quite soon one after the other. If there was a huge queue it was annoying. Just like real life!
Being an agent you had to do more for your money

TaighNamGastaOrt · 26/07/2020 19:56

Ok, signed up for Appen as a start-thanks for advice! @Carrotgirl87 can I ask if you managed to get past the problem described above? I used Gatekeeper's link but can't log in? I have exactly the same problem! No jobs! Thanks!
I swear logging in to these sites is like some kind of intelligence test!! Grin

Carrotgirl87 · 26/07/2020 20:48

@TaighNamGastaOrt yes I managed to sign in alright! Then I made sure the button that says something like 'projects not qualified for' was ticked and a whole list came up, so I picked one I thought I'd be good for and clicked on apply. Now I think it's a waiting game! X

shazza292022 · 26/07/2020 21:35

For those that are on the neevo task where you write a phrase out and validate whether a phrase meets the required guidelines for speaking to a voice assistant (hope I explained that right! 😂), I've done a few now the past few weeks, I do it when I can, but my question is when do you get paid? I'm not quite sure how long it goes on for... Does it have to be verified 1st? I've never used neevo before :) thanks in advance xx

Horehound · 26/07/2020 21:49

*I didn't kid = I didn't mind being an agent.

@shazza292022 is that the one about typing a voice command related to emails?

I know sometimes if it's a long job they will pay intermittently along the way but in the ts and C's it does say it can be once the job is fully complete/if you've done all your tasks/if everyone has completed theirs too.

So basically...a finger in the air!

Horehound · 26/07/2020 21:56

Honestly the appen thing is so confusing. you can't apply to each individual thing like the Micro tasks then the long term projects etc because once you apply for one thing when you try to apply for a second one it says "oh it looks like your already registered so login here" and then you log in and takes you to this page and there's nothing to see. As I mentioned a few days ago, i did weirdly manage to come across the dashboard page where it says that's where the list of jobs are but there's actually no jobs, or you can click a button to see what the job page could look like for you one day, but not yet!

It's bloody confusing and I'm a youngish techy person so it's not like I don't understand websites.

@Baby89 I remember this from the L Bridge application.

When you fill in the online form, there's a place there to upload your CV, I think it might be called attachments.

I can remember it not being very clear, and that it was hard to move forward at one point and I had to look carefully at all the options as it was not at all obvious what to do.

But as @Tinging says they are really helpful if you email them.

Good luck!

Baby89 · 27/07/2020 00:02

@ElasticFirecracker - thank you, I’ll look at application again. Once it sent what happens next

Horehound · 27/07/2020 08:07

Morning :)

Here's my trading 212 link to a free share.
Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to £ 100?

Create a Trading212Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/invite/GIJF2llR and we both get a free share!

Yesyyafternoon I saw I was at 12 calls with Neevo for the last telecom job. So I joined the queue, there were a lot of agents but only me on so I managed to get my max 25 calls in very quickly! :)

ohmygiddiest · 27/07/2020 10:45

I started in March and so far have withdrawn almost £200 from 20 Cogs

Join with my link and you will get a bonus:

20cogs.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/2224456?keyword=referred

Their sister company - quicker payout, but not as lucrative.

ohmydosh.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/529448?keyword=referred

Horehound · 27/07/2020 14:07

Oh so for 20 cogs you have to complete all 20 before getting your money?
I think I used your link @ohmygiddiest :)

ohmygiddiest · 27/07/2020 14:31

Thanks @Horehound

Yes, you need to complete all 20 before you get paid. It is worth investing a couple of hours of your time to do so as they pay very well.

ElasticFirecracker · 27/07/2020 14:38

@Baby89 I just can't remember the exact sequence, but after I'd applied I received a whole load of things to read and sign (online). Then I suddenly got the information to take the exam, it came as a surprise because I don't think I'd heard explicitly that I'd been accepted.

You are given a period of time to prepare for the exam and then a few days to actually complete it. This was a problem for me because I had commitments I couldn't get out of for the first four days and so I didn't have as much time as I would have liked for preparation.

Hope this is helpful.

Horehound · 27/07/2020 15:31

Hmm I have to say I am not sure 20cogs is for me.

I don't want loads of different companies having my details, remembering to cancel subscriptions etc

ruralwanderer · 27/07/2020 17:03

@GachaBread, thanks for posting the link to the market research call - I've been accepted! :D Really looking forward to that, it should be very interesting.

GachaBread · 27/07/2020 17:23

@ruralwanderer great news! Love how we all help each other on here. ❤️

Horehound · 27/07/2020 17:28

@ruralwanderer oh I applied oo but not heard :(
Although I said I don't use childcare yet because im still on maternity but that's about to change in three weeks!

WonderTweek · 27/07/2020 17:38

Hi all. I have a bit of a random question. If you are doing consulting work for these online companies, are you happy for them to "link" with your personal email or search history etc in order to personalise tasks for you? I'm guessing it's ok because it's kind of required if you want to test these platforms' services and algorithms? I don't want to name anyone but I keep seeing this in job descriptions for project work and it makes sense to let them do it, but I'm always super paranoid about how my data is used so it feels a bit unnatural. Confused Hope that makes sense!

Wolfff · 27/07/2020 18:23

I think you are overthinking it. I do not think they have access to my email inbox for example. I barely use social media and one of the accounts on a social media account I used ‘belonged’ to my cat. I think it was more the location rather than the company being interested in me personally.

In my day job, where necessary, I have access to much more information on individuals than could be gleaned from my social media. It is a fact of modern life.

WonderTweek · 27/07/2020 18:44

@Wolfff Thanks for your reply. Haha, there is a very good chance I'm overthinking it. I overthink a lot. Blush I used to work with data protection related issues in my old job so I'm always a bit wary of these things.

Wolfff · 27/07/2020 19:58

Some if not all the clients are major players so I don't think it would be in their interest to have anything less than robust data protection policies and procedures.

Baby89 · 27/07/2020 22:03

@ElasticFirecracker- I couldn’t log into the account again on longbridge so I opened another account using my other email address - think I made a mistake by doing that as they will think I’m applying twice- checked my email and saw link for the first account . I emailed them and they replied saying that the job is on hold and they send apologies - was actually looking forward to the next step if there’s was going to be one. I’ve joined Appen a month ago and no jobs yet.

Baby89 · 27/07/2020 22:04

Meant Lionbridge*

Peabrainer · 27/07/2020 22:53

Help! I joined Spuds last month and keep getting things wrong- they have emailed me picking me up on them. I’m so worried I’m going to get kicked out. Has anyone else had warnings? Feeling thick...
