A relative of mine joined Appen a month or so ago and there was definitely no exam then.

Wolfff · 12/07/2020 09:27

Re Crisp assuming you pass the test ie 18/20 or whatever they want now, they put you on a waiting list. In my case it was 6 months.

Tootsietoes · 12/07/2020 09:27

I just clicked on the link at start of this thread and found link to register. I'll through a CV together today and upload it.
If you joined recently can I ask did you have to wait a while to get work?

WonderTweek · 12/07/2020 09:55

Hi @Tootsietoes, I joined Appen about a month ago now and have applied for every single task I think I could do (around 8 now) and they're all "processing". So far I've not heard anything but I like to think that it takes a while to get started and when you get your first project it'll get better. Smile

seizethecuttlefish · 12/07/2020 10:02

@Tootsietoes it may be referring to the qualification tests for some projects. Once you're accepted you get a list of projects that you can apply for. Your CV just needs to be the basics.

Tootsietoes · 12/07/2020 10:03

It was definitely over 6 months ago since I did the crisp test. Maybe even over a year. Think I can assume I never got that one.

Hopefully that's the case @WonderTweek I don't mind starting of smaller jobs if it eventually opens up better earners. Hopefully someone can comment on that?

Wolfff · 12/07/2020 10:28

I think that Appen may have become more popular with lockdown and people losing their jobs and so on.

Personally, a year ago I picked up a long term project straight away and have since got another long term one. My relative, who joined recently hasn't got anything.

I would definitely recommend Intellizoom, Clickworker and prolific. I earn at least £50 a month from a combination of those

  • as I also work full time, I don't do them constantly - and they are normally quick
and easy.

I think all of these sites have.

I have had the worst week ever (and only been doing it for three months) - I think I've made $5 if that. Just to flag up that it is indeed quite erratic doing this type of stuff.

seizethecuttlefish · 12/07/2020 11:26

Potato is also incredibly slow these days. The queue is nonexistent at the moment. I'm lucky on Appen as I have a long term project but it ends in a couple of months. This is my only income and June was my lowest month since September. I'm hoping it comes back but I'm missing iSoftStone (as the projects always seemed to pop up when you most needed it) and I am considering going back to Neevo Shock I've never had any success from uTest. I did look at some wfh jobs but as I have to do childcare I can't commit to the shifts.

lynsey91 · 12/07/2020 12:29

@Tootsietoes I was on the waiting list for Crisp for just over a year so don't think you definitely will not get on.

Tootsietoes · 12/07/2020 12:35

I'll not hold my breath for crisp but will jump at the chance for it.

@seizethecuttlefish I have same issue, I have two toddlers so can't commit to set shifts for wfh or anywhere as I have no family to help with childcare and unfortunately not skilled enough to make working worthwhile with nursery fees.

Going to really start to focus on these and hopefully join in these threads more.

whysotriggered · 12/07/2020 12:54

Yep I've been waiting for Crisp for 14 months now! A few of those who did the test same time as me got on recently so maybe one day I will get that email!

I really don't think you should be posting the Cr test questions. Sorry.

Wolfff · 13/07/2020 07:48

Just been paid by Appen. Pity the exchange rate via Payoneer is so rubbish.

ruralwanderer · 13/07/2020 08:09

Payoneer's playing up and won't let me withdraw 😖

seizethecuttlefish · 13/07/2020 08:17

My Payoneer is letting me withdraw but think I might leave it a couple of days. I hate their exchange rates, 2.5p less on the dollar which adds up! Wish there was another way to get paid from Appen.

TheLolaMontez · 13/07/2020 12:13

Is anyone else getting nothing on UHRS for clickworker? There's the adult/racy but says all leased out, it's been like this for about a week for me

ruralwanderer · 13/07/2020 12:30

I've withdrawn :) Decided to take what I could get rather than waiting and risking it dropping further.

@TheLolaMontez, I've got nothing showing on UHRS either Sad. Also screened out of two Intellizoom surveys which is a bummer. Thank heavens for B* last week to keep my morale and earnings up!

Azerothi · 13/07/2020 12:44

@TheLolaMontez Me too, nothing on UHRS. How is little Montez?

TheLolaMontez · 13/07/2020 13:10

@Azerothi he's doing well, bless him. He's four months old now Shock
I can't remember what I updates I gave you all but he's just been diagnosed with aortic stenosis and he will need to have open heart surgery at some stage - we are going to find out this week when. It's been a bit of a shock to be honest. I have cried a lot, got angry, felt like I'm grieving and now (for today at least) Im calm about it. To look at him you wouldn't know that anything is wrong, he's putting in weight and growing really well, he's such a happy little soul, it breaks my heart. It's an enormous worry. Just going to take one day at a time, I think that's all we can do right now

TheLolaMontez · 13/07/2020 13:13

Here he is ❤️

Azerothi · 13/07/2020 13:16

@TheLolaMontez

I'm sorry to hear that. He is such a lovely little thing in the photos you showed us. I wish you all well, I was just thinking about you and will continue to do so.

Azerothi · 13/07/2020 13:17

He's still a lovely little thing too, such a cute baby and oblivious I would think.
