MLM Bot Watch 60: It takes a village to sink an island.

Continued chat exposing things such as the lies peddled and the bankruptcies hidden from view.

For those interested, the Lifetime channel is airing a documentary series called Cults & Extreme Belief. I have seen two episodes so far (FLDS, aired yesterday, and Twelve Tribes, aired last week). This coming Sunday is the first part of The Survivors Speak. So far it has been very interesting to see the similarities to MLM brainwashing. The way that active FLDS members still view Warren Jeffs as a prophet rather than a paedophile is remarkably similar to how Young Living customers view their late leader Gary Young.

In other news: I'm thinking about starting a tinfoil MLM as there seems to be a rather strong market amongst huns.

I noticed that too SCM79.

The cynical part of me thinks it's because there's no evidence for them to be pulled up on at a later date.

ooooohbetty · 23/05/2020 08:13

I'm reading this thread with interest because I'm fascinated by mlms and how they hook people in. Is there a way I could get to know who you are talking about? I understand that you give them made up names for protection.

Botbrigade · 23/05/2020 08:16

This use of Facebook stories is so obvious. What a bunch of dicks. Insolvency bot is one of the worst. I’m amazed she doesn’t get more grief on here - and in general. She is a blatant liar peddling her shite without any admission of the dire financial straits she is actually in.

CodenameVillanelle · 23/05/2020 08:57

Betty there is a really good clue post a way back in the thread if you have the patience to scroll!

9dartfinish2nd · 23/05/2020 10:17

The use of Social Media stories tells the bot exactly who is browsing and then it's only a matter of time before they go sliding into their DM's with an "amazzzzzzing opportunity"

Also very easy to hide false health/earnings claims from public scrutiny.

Duvetday8 · 23/05/2020 10:43

A juice plus bit I follow has apparently been crying all day due to getting a £1k bonus....times must be really bad if a £1k payment makes you that emotional

Sforsh49 · 23/05/2020 11:38

How Glamorous it is in FL Land. Nurse presented to literally 500 people on line and then........ brought the bins in. She really is rubbish at this!

Vhun123 · 23/05/2020 12:30

I've copy and pasted my earlier post with the clues for anyone that missed it.

Vhun123

Here is a list of MLMers mentioned on here with terrible clues I'm afraid.

Nurse - first name is the same first name of Denise on the Royle Family, surname is the same surname as the chancellor of the exchequer under David Cameron.

Broke - first name*Mcfly from back to the future. Surname is the same as the item of clothing you'd put on your hands if you were cold, just add 'er' at the end of that word.

Sacked - first name is the last 6 letters of macarina. Surname is a very pish car that begins with B and end in Y

Yawn - first name is**accessories, likenthe teenage girly shop. Surname is the second part of the brand M&S.

Salon - this one is hard..but she was the first Valentus Blue diamond in the UK and tagged in many Valentus posts. First name rhymes with Meth. Surname rhymes with drannan

Uber - also hard. First name is a Bruno Mars Song beginning with N. Surname is the shoes kids wear with wheels.

Castle - first name is of the harry potter actress that plays Hermione. Surname is the second name of Alice**who sang 'poisen'.

Hopefully there's enough there to keep a few of you browsing for a bit.

Some of the people I know are better off financially under furlough. Not having to pay to travel, and not buying lunch or grabbing that Starbucks on the way to work they have found they have more money in their pocket.

Also, people are going to start going back to work soon. They will then target those who no longer have jobs. Some furloughed workers will find their employers will end up closing down. Retail workers especially.

Bots don't give a shit who they harm.

I literally laughed out loud at Yawn and the Joe Lycett thing.

Botbrigade · 23/05/2020 13:39

Yawn is a grade A dick.

YouokHun · 23/05/2020 14:09

In the months ahead there will be a further and decisive Anti-MLM backlash totally agree @9dartfinish2nd, I think there will be carnage. I was speaking to a journalist the other day about the merits of writing about current MLM behaviour. I thought that if she has a choice about timing of any article then the thing to do would be to bot watch for the next few months and write a piece for Autumn (probably sooner) when the new crop of MLM-uninformed who are signing up now, are beginning to see or reflect on the damage. It would be great to have a high profile piece of writing by someone who is watching this unfold now, tracks what happens to ppl new to MLM, who have signed up due to COVID and tracks the outcomes versus what they were told when they joined. This timing would turn a spotlight on MLM at a very useful time and that would also be the time to start comparing the MLM poster girls and boys; the “successes”, with their Companies House realities in a more public way, so everyone can see the lies they’ve told. I’d love to see less of a snapshot of MLM and more of a long term view in the popular press, so others can see what we see by watching the scam over time.

That said, it would be good if all the talk of Covid scams right now in the press could include hi-lighting of the slower burn scams whose victims will only become apparent a few months down the line but who may be very seriously damaged (and not just financially).

I do think part of the backlash will be the collapse of a few MLMs. Uber etc are rubbing their hands with glee because their downlines have panic-bought more product before lockdown and they’ve shifted a bit of product via their product sponsorship fraud, and because of the chance of more recruits during instability, but they’re thinking very short term and self centredly (quelle surprise); all the Robert Fitzpatricks and Stacie Bosleys of this world predict a very negative outcome for MLM as a result of the virus.

BlackCatsRule88 · 23/05/2020 14:17

Talking of Joe Lycett, I did think that MLMs would be a great topic for his Got Your Back show. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me (I’m just a lurker) with some facts and examples or someone’s who has been directly affected could get in touch with the show?

fitgirl26 · 23/05/2020 14:32

On Yawn's post about presenting yesterday someone has complimented her in her flawless skin and she has replied saying it's down to all the aloe she pumps in. Nothing to do with filters then......

Botbrigade · 23/05/2020 15:15

@YouokHun I really like your suggestions. It would be helpful to have a really thorough expose on the company house info. The likes of Insolvency leaving what was a very well paid job at John Lewis and being a FLP poster girl when it’s all a sham needs to come out. I have a friend who knows her and says she pinned her quietness on being ill and had a cock and bull story for moving in with her mum while she had her company go into liquidation. The fancy house she pedalled was always a rental. Her social media presents an impressive lifestyle yet it’s all lies and apparently no one ever comments to show the truth on her posts. She’d be a top target for anyone looking to bring out their burner account for the bank holiday.

CodenameVillanelle · 23/05/2020 15:35

Yawn wears a crap ton of expensive makeup.

PeterGriffinsPenisBeaker · 23/05/2020 18:04

Is FM a MLM?

funkylittleboatrace · 23/05/2020 18:17

When nurse posts her little deals are they her ideas or does yawn tell her what to say and do?.

CodenameVillanelle · 23/05/2020 18:18

Yes FM world is a MLM selling fake perfumes, cheap household stuff, weigh loss snake oil and other tacky crap

PeterGriffinsPenisBeaker · 23/05/2020 18:19

Ah, great - my boy has ramped it up from Younique to FM Hmm

9dartfinish2nd · 23/05/2020 18:22

Yes, FM World are indeed an MLM and they seem to be gaining a lot of momentum in the UK over the past 12 months.

They are not your traditional USA/UTAH/Mormon setup, they are based in Poland but they operate under the exact same business model with all the same recruitment tactics and complicated income earning structure.

spanfan · 23/05/2020 18:30

I know we are giving castle clan a bit of a break. But I cannot believe how relaxed they are with social distancing. 😢

Vulnerable people should be shielding themselves. And their family should stay away. I really worry for them. 😢

BSintolerant · 23/05/2020 19:49

When nurse posts her little deals are they her ideas or does yawn tell her what to say and do?.

@funkylittleboatrace - good question.

Nurse is a bot. Yawn is a bot - and Yawn has been pre-programmed by her upline who is yet another bot. Nurse undoubtedly programmes her imaginary downline to do the same - in between putting out her bins and making our lives complete by sharing that particular highlight of her life with us. Grin

Lanzabot said in one of her alleged training videos that MLM is a “monkey see monkey do business.” Where’s the value in telling people to copy each other? It’s worthless. Professional business coaches do not operate like this - they’d soon be out of business if they did! The only benefit of programming bots to engage in repetitive behaviour is to keep them busy so they’re less likely to stop and think about what they’re doing and whether it’s working. It’s easy to keep brainwashed folk occupied when you know how.

I don’t know why Yawn is boasting about her FREE!!!!! training. It’s just as well she hasn’t charged a penny for her eleven years of experience because her idea of business coaching is worth BUGGER ALL!!!!

Spongebobette · 23/05/2020 19:56

It’s not training OR coaching

It’s manipulation and exploitation. And she uses previous victims to convince the newbies to keep on going. Sadly the previous victims become complicit, because they know they aren’t as successful as Yawn is telling everybody but they go along with it hoping that they’ll benefit.

It’s quite abusive really

BSintolerant · 23/05/2020 20:10

Exactly. I think Yawn posted about Joe Lycett calling out business coach scammers to convince herself that she’s not a scammer because her alleged training is FREE!!!!

She’s probably using this bizarre logic to convince those in her downline who are having doubts too.

Spongebobette · 23/05/2020 22:04

Nurse has adopted the weasel words of her controller

‘On track to earn an extra £500 a month'
