Continued chat exposing things such as the lies peddled and the bankruptcies hidden from view.

For those interested, the Lifetime channel is airing a documentary series called Cults & Extreme Belief. I have seen two episodes so far (FLDS, aired yesterday, and Twelve Tribes, aired last week). This coming Sunday is the first part of The Survivors Speak. So far it has been very interesting to see the similarities to MLM brainwashing. The way that active FLDS members still view Warren Jeffs as a prophet rather than a paedophile is remarkably similar to how Young Living customers view their late leader Gary Young.

In other news: I'm thinking about starting a tinfoil MLM as there seems to be a rather strong market amongst huns.

Someone on here must be in one of her groups? @doraexplorer99?

CodenameVillanelle · 19/05/2020 20:00

Ok, so sacked has done a live about her new bizniz. She started off saying it was for legal advice. Then she said it’s an app that tracks all your MLM prospects and accounts. It also offers what sounds like a souped up google alert where you can apparently track if anyone has sold your identity online and the app will help you fix it.
Basically she spent 15 minutes trying to sell a MLM which seems to be an app to manage your MLMs.
The legal advice is actually a £25 per month ‘legal defence cover’. Probably about the same rate of cover that I get in my union subs tbh.

I'm having such trouble keeping up here... from earlier clues on previous thread I got Homeschool and MrHS, maybe the precious stone one and sacked, and have been down several rabbit holes, have got a list going trying to work out who is who, keep following links to articles etc, but really want to find some of the others so that I can keep up. If I look at the comments on Homeschool's posts are any of them on there? There's someone (located in the land of N Mandela) commenting about let's get you up to gold, to a silver-achieving down line of HS (I think). Anyway, I'm thoroughly confused and would love some clues! Grin
In the '80s there was a gripping psychological thriller TV drama with Neil Pearson and Caroline Quentin, about exactly this type of thing, was called Upline!
I know someone who is properly in one of these things (J+) and once I realised what she'd become hooked up in I backed on sm. Something had struck me as very odd about some of the things she said when describing her fab new discovery and business and she was moving out of U.K. and going to support herself abroad doing this. Since then I've seen she flies back for conferences which I guess she pays to attend...and saw since the beginning that she's got/tried to get friends and family involved including her adult dcs. Think she's been doing it two or three years now but don't know how she's doing. She prides herself on the 'subtleties' and cleverness of her tactics. And I think they might actually be working on quite a few people but I don't know how to find anything out, even about someone I actually know!
So I watch and read in here with grim fascination Grin

Here is a list of MLMers mentioned on here with terrible clues I'm afraid.

Nurse - first name is the same first name of Denise on the Royle Family, surname is the same surname as the chancellor of the exchequer under David Cameron.

Broke - first name *** Mcfly from back to the future. Surname is the same as the item of clothing you'd put on your hands if you were cold, just add 'er' at the end of that word.

Sacked - first name is the last 6 letters of macarina. Surname is a very pish car that begins with B and end in Y

Yawn - first name is accessories, likenthe teenage girly shop. Surname is the second part of the brand M&S.

Salon - this one is hard..but she was the first Valentus Blue diamond in the UK and tagged in many Valentus posts. First name rhymes with Meth. Surname rhymes with drannan 😂

Uber - also hard. First name is a Bruno Mars Song beginning with N. Surname is the shoes kids wear with wheels.

Castle - first name is of the harry potter actress that plays Hermione. Surname is the second name of Alice who sang 'poisen'.

Hopefully there's enough there to keep a few of you browsing for a bit.

Brilliant! Thanks

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 00:29

Excellent, thank you! Smile

@FantasticButtocks

Welcome to the thread.

Never knew about the Neil Pearson tv show. The BBC made this way back in 1987. Must find a full copy of this somewhere!

www.imdb.com/title/tt0094228/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

NEIL PEARSON stars as a down-on-his-luck musician guy stuck for something to do but with long-suffering girl by his side. Until, that is, he finds salvation in a pyramid selling scheme dishing out cleaning-products and morale-boosting druggy foodstuffs. Instantly becomes a yuppie success, with girlfriend losing faith in "not the guy I fell in love with anymore" sort of a way. Culminates in weird multi-coloured tub climbing frame malarkeys with Pearson and HUGH LAURIE.

9dartfinish2nd · 20/05/2020 09:54

Correction, it was Channel 4 who made it

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 10:26

I remember the series well, and at the time it was really good. They had some excellent evil characters and plenty of sinister goings-on! I would love to watch it again and have looked for it, but don't think it's possible to actually watch it anywhere.

That list of clues was SO helpful, thank you!

The person I know who is with J+ was recruited by her own osteopath, a man she'd known for decades and truly trusts. Thinks he's probably high up in the co and successful. I've just had a look at his page and he is very focussed on Covid, politics, cover ups, simple treatments being hushed up...plenty of conspiracy stuff. His first name is the name of the human in historical kids tv series Rainbow, last name double-barrelled, first part not a Capulet but a M, second part begins with S and rhymes with myth.
I seem to be getting the hang of these clues now... Grin

Spongebobette · 20/05/2020 10:40

Omg that osteopath is full on conspiracy theory bonkers

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 20/05/2020 11:12

He is as mad as a bag of snapping turtles...

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 11:36

Grin yes Osteo is bonkers...and very serious about it too. And the person I know was totally hooked by him and believes he is the oracle. I wish I knew if she was actually doing well, because her faith when I saw her a couple of years ago was unwavering and had an evangelical feel to it. So I never felt there'd be any point in trying to talk to her/warn her as she had been brainwashed an answer for everything.

YouokHun · 20/05/2020 11:43

@FantasticButtocks I wonder if that’s the same Osteopath I know. Outwardly an upright citizen and keeping his JP life very very separate from his Osteopathy clinic. He is now pretty senior in JP, always up on stage at the conventions. He has some YouTube Lives which are pretty manipulative. The thing that really troubles me about him is that JP has given him a massive platform of malleable people and he is a huge antivaxxer and proponent of Andrew Wakefield’s work on MMR. He will be changing a few minds about going ahead with Vaccines. He has a lot of crackpot ideas but he’s probably quite charismatic so pretty damaging.

Does the Ost you’re talking about have a double barrel surname?

YouokHun · 20/05/2020 11:44

Cross-post! I know exactly who that is! A native of TW. He’s a real shyster.

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 11:44

He did a post on Sunday morning stating hashtag nofear, and the person I know is one of the two people who commented on it, reiterating the hashtag...

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 11:51

Yes! @YouokHun that's him! I used to live in that area... and agree with what you say about him using his clientele. An audience who respects him etc - so dodgy! Was appalled when she told me... His involvement made the whole thing legit as far as she was concerned Shock

YouokHun · 20/05/2020 12:05

I’m so glad others are on to him! He’s actually friends with a couple of people I know and my clinical supervisor used to have a room at his clinic for private practice, so I think I have a sense of how well hidden his JP stuff is, viewing it from his “legit” side. In fact I think he is partly based in Spain so I think a Lot of the JP stuff comes from that location. He was written about by a blogger who Very knowledgeably calls out non evidence based bollocks after I alerted them to him. The blogger didn’t touch on his JP side though. That blogger was going to report to the Ost Council For the danger he poses as his recommendations are outside their code. That’s before anyone even gets started on the JP stuff.

YouokHun · 20/05/2020 12:09

Just had a look at Osteo Bot’s FB, loony. He’s essentially Sleaze but with O Levels.

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 12:12

The person I'm talking about who was recruited by him now lives in that country you mentioned, moved from the nearby town you mentioned where I used to live too. Think we may know some of the same people @YouokHun

FantasticButtocks · 20/05/2020 12:13

Don't know Sleaze... any clue? Wink

YouokHun · 20/05/2020 12:18

Mmm...we probably do! I live about 12 miles from there and have done for quite a few years. Round here it’s generally Arbonne and Tropic country, not JP. I’m going to watch him a bit more closely than I have been I think... if Mr Homeschool will leave me alone long enough to concentrate (he’s still spamming me, insisting that I must be very disturbed if I am not signing up for his special MLM grooming therapy). What a shit show all this MLM biz is!

fitgirl26 · 20/05/2020 12:27

@FantasticButtocks - first name sounds like the name of popular entertainer with surname O'Connor but starts with "W". Surname same as actor who starred in the Rockford Files.

fitgirl26 · 20/05/2020 12:32

My insta is public as I only use it for scenery photos. I started following BBL and ever since I've had a steady stream of Bots starting to follow me. Just waiting for one of them to slide into my DMs 😂
