@MoreMoneyPlease, I'm not making £10 an hour yet I don't think as I'm still not confident enough yet. Hopefully, one day!
When I actually finish a test case and get three or four bugs approved I can make £30 which is nice and gives me confidence. The long-term project I am currently on is quite well paid and I have earned £50 in 24 hours for not that much effort really. I had one project once which I spent about 10 hours on and ended up with one bug approved an earned about £3 so it is the luck of the draw really. It does help if you manage to find a lot of bugs that the client considers very valuable! Grin

@Catatemyhomework I'm on that project too. Very pleased. Grin I have an iphone so I'm considering buying a Samsung Galaxy 8 or 9 from CEX with my profits for that project so I can get android slots too.

I'm taking my time and mostly doing paid for test cases at the moment as they are very straight forward even if the alleged £5 for 15 minutes is actually 30 mins that's still more than minimum wage plus I'm learning plus I might find a bug. Grin

Lazydaisydaydream · 26/02/2020 19:33

@anxiouswaiting that's interesting of how long you've been waiting for cloudworkers, I ended up emailing them yesterday as it felt like I should have heard by now (applied nearly three weeks ago) but just got an automated response back. Will keep waiting!!

Lougle · 26/02/2020 19:45

MrsWombat I think it really helps having both. I bought an iphone with my earnings a couple of weeks ago and I am currently doing cycles for both iOS and Android. It does make the learning curve steeper, though, because you have to learn how to get information from both devices.

Catatemyhomework · 26/02/2020 20:05

@MrsWombat and @Lougle, I think I need to buy another device too. I have android 9, but I cannot do Charles Proxy and I can't seem to even do the UTest Proxy if I can't install an app or access a website. I'm sure it's my phone. I am thinking about buying an iphone from envirofone. I bought dd1 from there once and it was very good. I can do logcats now and I can do console logs. My problem is if I can't access the test site, I have to decline it because of my phone.

MrsWombat · 26/02/2020 20:14

OMG I asked my OH if he came across any old androids to let me know and he’s given me his spare work phone! It’s a Samsung j6 something or other but it will hopefully get me a few more test cases. Grin

Lougle · 26/02/2020 21:05

Hooray @MrsWombat. I have 5 phones now Blush I had a S6 which was really slow, so I got a S10. Then I found a couple of old phones my parents had - it's good to have some of the older OS to compare apps, etc.

@Catatemyhomework you won't be able to do Charles Proxy logs with an OS of 7 or over. They know that. I just say 'no' to the CPL question and attach a log cat instead.

The proxy is a pain, I'm not sure it's your phone, tbh.

Starlight2004 · 26/02/2020 21:20

Appen people check your emails if you were working the 15 hour projects before Christmas. It looks like they might be coming back! Smile

Catatemyhomework · 26/02/2020 21:42

@Lougle, thanks. I didn't know you could say no to the Charles Proxy logs and attach a logcat. I just haven't been accepting the cycles. Wish I'd known. I just thought that was a requirement for some cycles. Yes, the proxy is a pain. It refuses to accept my Utest credentials for some reason. I don't understand why some websites are inaccessible to some users and not others. @MrsWombat, well done on the extra phone. I found an old Nexus 7 in the cupboard the other day! Grin

girlicorne · 26/02/2020 21:52

@Starlight2004 you beat me to it I was just coming in to say that, I really hope they do they were a great earner!

Lougle · 26/02/2020 22:06

@Catatemyhomework I just assumed that they are inviting people with Android 7.0 + and then telling us that CPL doesn't work, so they must be ok without it.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 26/02/2020 22:32

Have just got access to the survey tool for the Nile project. I'm confused on how many batches I'm supposed to do, as batches are 11 or 9, not 30, whether I am giving the right kind of feedback and which screen I'm supposed to screenshot. Can anyone shove me in the right direction? Smile

SNISR · 27/02/2020 07:11

After a week of doing the test for rev, I have finally heard back to say I've passed. Very please with that!
Anyone else doing rev? How are you finding it and how much are you making on average?

Suebnm · 27/02/2020 08:11

@SNISR

I did Rev quite a while ago and it was a great little earner after the first few weeks. Just stick at it. I have just put another test in to join again for them as my log in lapsed so fingers crossed.

SNISR · 27/02/2020 10:21

@Suebnm good luck! 😃

ruralwanderer · 27/02/2020 12:04

Hi all, I've been a lurker for ages but have finally joined Mumsnet due to this thread! I'm about to embark on a career break to stay home with my kids for a bit, and have been looking for ways to earn a bit of money around them and this thread has been so useful.

I've signed up for Crisp (passed the test and on the waiting list), Lionbridge (was rejected as I answered "No" to a question about downloading software which may damage or corrupt my personal devices), and Appen (which is the one I have a question about!)

I started off well with Appen, applying for 3 different projects but after being conditionally accepted for the third, I am now unable to review my other active processes and cannot also see the open projects list anymore. I've emailed Appen to ask if everything is ok but haven't had a reply so thought I'd ask here too.

Other things I've found which may help others are Job Seeker which is a phone app made by Indeed.com. It's a really easy one to use - essentially you just photograph staff needed adverts that you see when out and about and submit them through the app. They pay out really quickly in Amazon vouchers and I've made a fiver through this app without making much effort.

There's also a website that allows you to report abandoned, empty or derelict houses in your area (www.youspotproperty.com/). They offer a £20 gift voucher if the property you submit meets their criteria, and 1% of the purchase price if they're able to buy it and do it up for resale. I've reported one property but unfortunately didn't qualify for the voucher as I was unable to supply sufficient information, but the company were really good at contacting me and keeping in touch so could be worth a go.

I'm going to sign up for Take Note too but need to spend a bit longer practicing the audio typing test to enhance my chances of being accepted.

ruralwanderer · 27/02/2020 12:12

On the trading212 links, do you need to sign up for a particular account type to get the free trade or is there one which is better than the others?

Catatemyhomework · 27/02/2020 12:18

Just wondered if anyone has been on the Clickworker UHRS apps lately? I've been in and it has an identical project to one I've worked on before with another organisation. I might be being thick, but I don't understand how to progress with it? There is a batch of work and two question banks. I have done Qbank 1 and reached the necessary offby accuracy results, but that seems to be it. Does anyone know how you then progress to get the paid work for that hitapp? Thanks.

TeacupDrama · 27/02/2020 12:27

TheMamaYo · 27/02/2020 13:23

UTest is giving me a run around this morning. :) Is anyone else stuggling with the site today?
I have a couple of projects on the go but can't get in!

TheMamaYo · 27/02/2020 13:49

Also - sorry, I know this has been answered before, but where do I see whether I got access to UHRS tasks on Clickworkers, please? I have done the assessments.

Catatemyhomework · 27/02/2020 13:55

@TheMamaYo, if you've taken the UHRS assessments, you should have been instructed to create a Windows Live ID. Once you've done that, log in to Clickworker, fo to UHRS and select start. This will take you to Live ID login. Enter details and you should see the UHRS available projects.
