New job just went up on Appen

Finally started on Nile today. There were a few glitches when I accidentally pressed the back button on my phone and had to start all over again!

It's a nice little project though for however long it lasts.

@Sallycinnamum at the risk of sounding dim. What is Nile?

@Lougle how have you managed to progress so quickly? I'm all over the place seem to have signed up with loads of sights without my direction or action happening! It's perhaps my somewhat chaotic approach

i've been accepted on NL but went to look at it last night and am a bit flummoxed and don't know how to progress..is anyone here working/has worked on that project that can pm me please. I feel like my brain has deserted me ...thanks

@Jugglingwiththebestofthem it's a social media rating project on Appen. I started registering for work with them and of December and it's only now I've started getting work from them.

A friend of mine heard from Crisp today despite only passing the exam in Jan so I wonder if they're actively signing up people now.

@gatekeeper I printed all the guidelines out last night and had a go this morning. It's really easy once you get going and you need to make sure you add each day of batches to the invoicing tool.

@Jugglingwiththebestofthem I don't know if I've made masses of progress, it just feels good I did all the Academy courses that I could and did two challenges. That took me from unrated to proven. Then I started to get paid opportunities and that got me up to bronze. I'm still Bronze but about 2.5% off of silver now.

In terms of earnings, I went from (1) nothing (2) under £40 (3) 4.5 x pay 2 (4) 1.5 x pay 3 (7.5 x pay 2). That's all pretty vague, but basically, I'm seeing increases on my increases at the moment. It will level off at some point, but right now it's climbing

I'm quite single minded, which is good and bad. I get very focused on one thing, but then once I've lost interest I can't bring myself to do it again.

I don't think I can sustain more than one thing, so I've pretty much decided that I'm not going to do anything else but UTest now.

heard back from Cloudworkers today asking if I am still interested. Just waiting for them to send me the paperwork now. Its been about 6 weeks since I first applied I think!

@Sallycinnamum I've clicked on the link they give in instructions for Facebook but I'm lost from there...says I have to click on the "feed ads" radio button but I can't see where that is??? I am feeling very thick right now

I've earned nearly £70 on UTest today. I'm super pleased! £50 was from a long-term project and £20 from bugs approved that I found over the weekend. I had to turn down a project today as I don't think it was within my capabilities which is a bit disheartening. I probably could have done it eventually, BUT I spent hours yesterday on something which my phone was just not capable of doing. I'm thinking I need to upgrade all of my tech now to take advantage of more projects, but not sure if I can justify it finacially yet.

@Catatemyhomework that's brilliant about the £70! I'll PM you about the rest of your post...I don't know if it will help though!

@Lougle thanks, I could do with some tips. I am so up and down with UTest. One minute I have a ureka moment and think "I've got it!" and the next I'm practically crying because I can't do a UTest proxy on my phone!
@MoreMoneyPlease, I signed up with UTest in January, so a couple of months and it hasn't been easy for me. I am still a long way off knowing how to do a lot of things. I have done some of the academy cycles, but there was one I couldn't do because of my phone. Also, I had to unclaim another because I couldn't set up a proxy on my phone and so couldn't launch the site. It doesn't seem to have impacted on my rating. I am on 'proven' now and quite close to Bronze. I do quite enjoy it when it works and I find a bug! . I have reached a point now where I accept test cases from certain customers because I am familiar with their sites and how they work. Getting to grips with matched betting has been very useful to me with some of the projects. I still get scared by some of the test cases and decline them though. The downside to all of this is that my house is a shit hole and my kids have gone feral!

@Catatemyhomework yes, I know the feeling about the house going to shit. Luckily DH is away this week so we're living off toast and ready meals Working my way through the MB welcome offers seems to take me hours - signing up, depositing £, finding a game, checking the numbers on the calculator twenty times before placing the bet...
