Oh the hours can definitely get sucked up. I did some really small verifications this week and someone came back with 'could you show x,y,z?' on a few of them. Perfectly reasonable, but I was using an old android device (required) and it took 30 minutes just to get to the point that I needed to screenshot. I could have cried! But now I'll always know to take far more screenshots than I need, so that if they say 'can you....' I can just attach it.

I really need to look at Utest a bit more. What kind of money are you all making from it? I lost a bit of interest during the B*C one (I don't know if it's ok to name them but I hope you all know what I mean), when the issue reporting kept being closed so quickly. I made the $20 from the first couple of cycles but got frustrated I kept missing my chance to report bugs in that third cycle.

I've done online testing before and I find uTest frustrating in that the only communication option you have is the chat window which gets so cluttered. And if none of the leads are online because they're all in the same time zone (strange choice IMO) you can't get hold of anyone and just have to leave the message sitting there for hours with no indication of when someone might be back. At the other testing site they use Slack and when the leads go offline they write a message in the chat saying when they expect to be back.

I find with testing the pay is OK but the work isn't that frequent, maybe it's different with uTest. And when you're new at it you'll end up earning less as it takes so long to do things.

@BertieBotts where have you done online testing other than UTest, if you don't mind saying?

I have to say I've found the whole UTest community to be so welcoming and encouraging, with quite fast responses to queries.

I have turned down at least 8 projects due to schedule conflicts (ie. I'm too busy testing other stuff). There seems to be a steady flow of work so far.

One of my free shares has disappeared

I think Freetrade stop giving free shares after a while. I've come to the conclusion that we think people aren't topping up, but they actually are, and free trade aren't giving a free share. I have 5 free shares. Have done for ages and not got a new one for a long time. I used to think people weren't topping up as the reason, but I sent a referral to a friend the other day because she asked for one and she topped up. Freetrade still saying your friend needs to top up.

Freetrade are having problems with the links. If one link is used to sign up and not topped up, it can cause problems with links used after that one. They're very helpful, so I'd suggest sending them a message through the app if you're having problems.

Might be a stupid question but is the potential earnings on UHRS how much you will actually be paid or will that amount change for some reason?

Is it worth trying to sign up to rev if you've never done any transcription work before?

@tinyradish I passed rev with no prior experience - I gave up on it quickly though as the pay is shit, or maybe I'm just too slow?

They keep asking me to make my account (I passed) but I'm not willing to do it for pennies, so I'll have a look.

Can anyone advise me re Appen? I got an email saying I am a match for a map project and to supply some additional information. I replied to the email but now am worried that it goes to a mailbox in the ether! Is there anywhere else I should supply the information

Can anyone help me with Appen? I’ve registered and completed all the parts of the application process. I got an email saying I qualified for a job and to login to complete an online exam. But when I login there is nothing there?

Am I the only one who finds the Appen site quite hard?
