So... Anyone up for an earn £10 a day 2020 thread?

HAPPY NEW YEAR Crown Grin

For anyone who wasn't with us last year, we all set about trying to earn £10 a day on top of our usual income. No MLM schemes or anything dodgy. There were some fantastic amounts achieved, mat leaves extended, babies conceived, and redundancies survived. I know the thread got a bit confusing to follow for new starters, but please don't be intimidated! You don't need any special skills or anything to do any of this, it's all really accessible and I promise we'll all try to be clear about what sites/terms are so no one gets too lost Smile

I haven't had time to put a full list together, and to be honest I want to pop off and go make the most of the content on Crisp Thinking (social media moderation site averaging around £10 per hour) but I was planning on popping up a list a bit later today.

I found Mod2 was easier than monitoring last night when I did it properly for the first time.

AllTheGlitter · 02/01/2020 13:18

I’m in!

NannyPear · 02/01/2020 13:42

So I'm on the waiting list for crisp now, aware that could take months. I've applied for 4 Appen projects. I can realistically only commit to an hour a day on anything, so logistically how does it work if you are applying for loads of different things. Is it one of those things whereby it's highly unlikely you'd have the opportunity to do more than a couple of these things at the same time so unlikely it'd be a problem? If you are already doing a project when you are selected for another project, what do you do then? Total newbie, can you tell :p

rhij86 · 02/01/2020 13:58

@NannyPear Appen work seems to come in waves! I think the general consensus on here is to apply for all that you can as

  1. you don't know what you'll get accepted to and
  2. You never know when a project you're on might stop (I've been working on one for a couple of months and made £700 on it last month, but had an email last week to say they no longer need me after tomorrow).

If you get accepted on to more than one, and you find you don't have the time to do both, just contact them and ask them to remove you from that project. It won't go against you as a black mark so you can apply for more in the future.

Good luck :)

What's this all about? How do I get in on it? I could do with an income top up being on Maternity Allowance at present.

christmasandcounting · 02/01/2020 14:10

Ah! Found you!

NannyPear · 02/01/2020 14:12

@rhij86 cool! That makes sense thanks.

Momniscient · 02/01/2020 14:42

First study on Prolific! Swagbucks is also now part of my roster. Looks like that "reduce screen time in 2020" isn't going to happen GrinGrinGrin

iwantavuvezela · 02/01/2020 14:43

Thank you for sharing all of this - I am going to try and join this group - might use the next week or so to read this thread properly, sign up to groups so that I am ready to go for February - but will be pleased if anything happens sooner

anxiouswaiting · 02/01/2020 14:52

@Alderaan be careful as I suggested a friend join in some of these thinga but after some research she found she was not allowed to do self-employed work while getting maternity allowance MA and if she has done self employed work her MA would have stopped . But it is fine of you are getting statutory maternity pay SMP.

HarrietThePi · 02/01/2020 15:17

Thanks I'm going to sign up to cloudworkers if they don't call. Have been debating cloudworkers ever since I read about it on here Because I'm really not sure how comfortable I will be with it, but there's no harm in trying it out and I can always give up if it's terrible.

Have just joined swagbucks too. Earnings on that seem limited but every little helps!

Still have several appen projects "in progress", really hope I get at least one so I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

With crisp I have been on the waiting list since December. Am considering taking the risk test again and seeing if it bumps me up or something..but worried my 20/20 score was a fluke and I'll fail it if I try again!

HarrietThePi · 02/01/2020 15:17

Also really wish I'd get something off neevo. Getting fed up of logging on to see the "no jobs available" screen.

HarrietThePi · 02/01/2020 15:20

But... Sorry for triple posting... Feeling fairly optimistic this could be a good year. Usually I feel gloomy in January but I feel hopeful for a change. If I could start bringing in £100-£200 a month I'd be able to clear out my overdraft. Anything over that and I should be able to start building up some savings. Crossing all my fingers for me and for everyone else. Thanks again for these threads, I am so grateful as I had no idea about any of these!

rhij86 · 02/01/2020 15:28

@HarrietThePi good luck with it all! I would wait on Crisp a little longer. At the beginning of December they had a flurry of hiring and some people who had applied in May/June were accepted - it can sometimes take months, as frustrating as that is!

Here's to a prosperous and happy year for you :)

Patapouf · 02/01/2020 15:47

I've managed to do one study on prolific today, bringing my total January earnings to £1.20 (pending approval) 😂😄

Need to get cracking with the appen sign up and the nevoo tests when the baby is bed tonight.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 02/01/2020 15:54

Count me in too! I have spent a good part of today reading some of last year's threads and signing up for things. I thought I had completed the Crisp test first thing, but I don't remember seeing a score. Now worried I may have done something wrong. I was quite distracted towards the end as DD6 woke up and started chatting to me.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 02/01/2020 16:00

Oh yay! Just got email. Scored 20/20! On waiting list. Feeling proud. Grin

Muir23 · 02/01/2020 16:15

Any fellow Crispers here? I started a couple of months ago and only seem to be able to earn about £6 for an hour’s work. Is this standard or do I need to speed up?!
Thanks in advance

Spartonian · 02/01/2020 16:23

I failed the Crisp sign up but I Was dealing with DC at the same time, can I try again or will I have to use a new email address and registration details?

themoneyshed · 02/01/2020 16:41

$40 audio task if anyone fancies it from iSoftStone

NannyPear · 02/01/2020 16:41

@Spartonian I did it last night three times with the same email, name etc with no problem

themoneyshed · 02/01/2020 16:42

@HarrietThePi

£100-£200 a month honestly won't be difficult. You will me earning WELL over that each month from the online earning work you are applying for ;)

Fiftysix · 02/01/2020 16:51

Happy to jump in again this year. Last year I earned £100 a month on sb,prolific, panalbase and other survey sites. This year I hope to take it more seriously, and try for the 10 a day!

Morgan12 · 02/01/2020 16:53

I've been accepted onto my first appen project already!

I keep getting a message saying a follow up email will be sent if there are any discrepancies and now I can't get back onto the projects page! So annoying! I wanted to apply for more.

morekidsthanhands · 02/01/2020 16:55

@muir23 read the tips on the wiki for speeding up. It really is dependant on how much content is coming in. I tend to earn upwards of £10 an hour pre surge pricing BUT

  • I never work with less than 500 in the queue
  • I use 2 windows
  • I've been doing this since March
  • I turn off TV, get rid of as many distractions as I can and set an hour timer and go for it.
