So... Anyone up for an earn £10 a day 2020 thread?

HAPPY NEW YEAR Crown Grin

For anyone who wasn't with us last year, we all set about trying to earn £10 a day on top of our usual income. No MLM schemes or anything dodgy. There were some fantastic amounts achieved, mat leaves extended, babies conceived, and redundancies survived. I know the thread got a bit confusing to follow for new starters, but please don't be intimidated! You don't need any special skills or anything to do any of this, it's all really accessible and I promise we'll all try to be clear about what sites/terms are so no one gets too lost Smile

I haven't had time to put a full list together, and to be honest I want to pop off and go make the most of the content on Crisp Thinking (social media moderation site averaging around £10 per hour) but I was planning on popping up a list a bit later today.

I did a new profile and passed the next lot! I counted all regional accents including Irish that time.

happychange · 04/01/2020 18:35

@dumbledoressidechic check this website out, has great step by step on how to do matched betting

minesagin37 · 04/01/2020 18:39

@dumpledore - I've made £1600 in two months. You can be put off by stories or just crack on and make money. It's up to you really.

Savingforarainyday · 04/01/2020 18:44

I'm curious!
Do most if you also work full time as well?

Lougle · 04/01/2020 19:02

I've taken the Crisp quiz and I didn't get a score, it just said 'Thank you for your interest, you've been added to the waiting list.' Does that mean I passed??

justtheonethen · 04/01/2020 19:03

@Lougle check your email for a score Smile

Lougle · 04/01/2020 19:20

Ah, thank you @justtheonethen I got 19/20 which is great considering I felt unsure on a few of them!

BertieBotts · 04/01/2020 19:22

Feeling brave and have jumped in to a few :o

I got 19/20 on the crisp quiz

I can offer another site if anyone is interested. I did a bit of online work for them last year. It's QA work (testing - mostly websites and apps) but mostly doesn't need experience. They're based in France so French speakers get the most work but any other languages are useful - English comes up, but has a lot of applicants. If you speak any other languages you'll be more successful. You need a LinkedIn (or similar) profile to apply. Pay is fairly decent for this kind of thing, but after you make a certain amount you need to show them you're paying taxes (to cover themselves I suppose) however you can earn up to that amount no problem. I can't remember how much it was now. To be honest, I found it few and far between but good when it did work.

The huge downside is they won't email you with missions, you have to check the site and I always forget.

I tend to sit on my computer in the evenings, so I leave Prolific open in a tab and it adds a (1) when there is a waiting study so I can see it and click if I'm not distracted.

usernamegoeshere · 04/01/2020 20:33

Registered for cloud workers today!

No matched betting as I've run out of money :( going to make most of my readily trial from 20cogs this evening I think.

dumbledoressidechic · 04/01/2020 21:02

@minesagain is it easy to get the hang of?

Does it need to be online or can I do it in shops?

I don't understand odds or what kind of bets I'd need to do. Do I have no hope or will I get it? I'm intelligent, university educated, but I've just never really understood it.

AdaShelby · 04/01/2020 21:23

Dumbledore some banks and lenders don't like it if your statement shows loads of betting sites and money going out to them. Lots of people use different accounts for matched betting, not their main account.

DH opened a Revolut to do it.

themoneyshed · 04/01/2020 21:36

@minesagain

I would suggest using a seperate bank account for matched betting - easy enough to set up.

in terms of not understanding terms, we cover the jargon at the top here

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/what-is-matched-betting/

It includes a video which you also said you were after.

Matched Betting is just the same math done over and over and over again. If it involved risk, no one would do it ;)

I've made over £40,000+ from it so the money is there if you want to do it!

themoneyshed · 04/01/2020 21:41

Sorry the above post was for @dumbledoressidechic

;)

themoneyshed · 04/01/2020 21:42

@BertieBotts

Thanks for mentioning that testing site, never heard of them before ;)

Patapouf · 04/01/2020 21:46

i'm finding it hard not to be impatient, but i keep refreshing Appen to see if they have reviewed me yet.

If anyone hasn't signed up for 20cogs yet, this is my referral link:

i have £38.50 in my pot already and i only started that yesterday evening!

NWQM · 04/01/2020 21:47

I'm in - will get a grip when little ones back at school next week

Patapouf · 04/01/2020 21:53

@themoneyshed 😳😳😧😧 £40k!!!

I've just dug out my old MB spreadsheet from 2017, and I think I only made £430 but I put about £260 in as a float.

Will I have to pick up where I left off? Presumably I won't be able to access the same offers again? I'm definitely up for dipping a toe if it can be that lucrative, I basically gave up after I ran through the super easy sign up bonuses.

themoneyshed · 04/01/2020 21:57

@Patapouf

Well it's probably over £50k now to be fair. It's paid for a new car, conservatory, family holidays to Florida multiple times. I only started with £60 and have never put any more money in!! Nuts isn't it!

Yeah, you should be able to just carry on where you left off ;)
Though you won't need a spreadsheet anymore as Profit Accumulator and OddsMonkey both have their own built-in profit tracking tools!

Lougle · 04/01/2020 23:03

Are the surveys a con? I've tried to do about 30 surveys and I always get 'you don't fit the demographic' then get kicked out with no points.

MarySidney · 04/01/2020 23:12

I kept getting that, too. I've decided not to waste any more time on them.

Patapouf · 04/01/2020 23:15

Aieeeeeeeeee that is a juicy sum. That's what I'll do with my first payouts this month then.

I definitely ended up getting muddled because my spreadsheet was crap!

Momniscient · 04/01/2020 23:28

The surveys are fine, but you do have to keep refreshing to get them. I've got over 1000 "swagbucks" in about 3 days, so I think it'll be worth it. I just go back to the page when whatever I'm normally doing is stalling/loading. But once you cross certain thresholds you get bonuses - double points on the next gold survey you complete, that sort of thing.

Patapouf · 05/01/2020 00:06

Has anyone else hit a wall on 20cogs?

I've done 11, and for 12 it's giving me really limited recycled options from previous cogs. I don't want to do any of the gambling ones because I want to save those sign ups for when I get back into matched betting. That only leaves me with Amazon prime and hayu but I'm not a new customer so can't access those 😒

Some of these cogs have cost me, £1 for which, £2 for a book, £1 for graze so I'm keen to access the pot I've built up (£46.50 so far!!)
