Does anyone know if we’ll be paid for any extra nerve ones that we do? I started to do more after payment but didn’t know if I’d get anything from it

Buster27 · 15/11/2019 19:57

Hope you get your hours changed @Otterses!

Phew, passed D on Appen, found it easier than the others I've done. Top tip, make sure you check the examples at the end of the guidelines as some of them may feature.. (I got one of them wrong before I noticed Blush Grin)

AliciaWhiskers · 15/11/2019 20:00

@Frenchdoors1 I thought the max was 1250 each?

Frenchdoors1 · 15/11/2019 20:04

@AliciaWhiskers
Yes, you're right, I'm getting mixed up with 230 of something else, although I cannot remember what Grin

@StudentHelp
Yeah, i would imagine we'll get paid for the extra ones.

AliciaWhiskers · 15/11/2019 20:05

@Frenchdoors1 I wasn't able to go over the 230 recorded ones?

Frenchdoors1 · 15/11/2019 20:15

@AliciaWhiskers
Sorry, yes I just did 230 noisy and quiet. It's just the validation ones I've gone over.

obviouslymarvellous · 15/11/2019 21:05

So I figured out what I was doing wrong - not clicking submit Confused so have done an hour and a half now to see how I fared. Very slow and I don't understand what to do with memes (if anyone would like to pm me I would be most grateful Grin) I have read and re read the notes and the one thing it doesn't really quote is memes (I'm on the I project) tried to join chat - page came up with error GrinGrinGrin kind of sums up my week perfectly!

@obviouslymarvellous i managed to work for 4 hours without hitting submit. I was gutted when I realised!

I'm invoicing it anyway as my hourly productivity is well over target!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 15/11/2019 21:18

I should add that I have since done 8 hours properly!

anxiouswaiting · 15/11/2019 21:35

@obviouslymarvellous I did the same thing yestersay, I was gutted!

BlackCatFan · 15/11/2019 21:40

How much did you folks make overall doing the voice tasks on Neevo? I got locked out due to forgetting my password and couldn't get it to reset, but now I'm back in so I'll probably do them!

Made £500 on Crisp last month, very happy with that. Hoping for an appen project.. also failed cottonwood and elk. 😔

obviouslymarvellous · 15/11/2019 22:19

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock @anxiouswaiting glad it's not just me! Hoping I will settle in to it - I've got so many qualifications to do too, just not sure when to fit it in between the actual task I'm on my other proper commitments and then I'm trying to study for lionbridge which by the looks of it will be a no - need another day in the week at the minute ha ha x

Yay. Just passed deskha on Appen. I gave up with cottonwood as guidelines wouldn't work. I've applied for so many I can't remember if this one is a big one? As in 20 hours min? 🙈🙈

AliciaWhiskers · 15/11/2019 22:59

How do you submit!? I've just pressed dump - is that wrong??

ChubRubTub · 15/11/2019 23:56

@AliciaWhiskers I'm not in the UK, so it may be different, but UTest were doing a voice recording task very recently

obviouslymarvellous · 16/11/2019 06:57

@AliciaWhiskers there is a submit button (blue) at the bottom of each task you have to click on that or or doesn't count - as I stupidly realised yesterday x

Anyone been able to solve the problem of getting the cottonwood guidelines to open?

Redda · 16/11/2019 09:20

@Otterses Helloooo :) Hope you're feeling a bit better today and fingers crossed for dropping a day. I'm a lot better although still stuck living in hell - I need a property to sell to be able to move out but it's the wrong time of year.

Cwood guidelines opened fine for me although I think they may be updating them so that might be the issue. I need to get a routine going really, it's just typical that Crisp gets busy and I finally get a project from Appen after months of waiting - 20 hours is actually quite daunting, at least with crisp you just get on with it and don't have to count hours. It's great to be getting work though especially after my last 2 crap months!

dreamyflower · 16/11/2019 09:20

@SNISR I emailed but got no response. I tried it in several different browsers (on my phone, laptop and iPad) nothing. So I gave up.

MoreMoneyPlease · 16/11/2019 10:22

I think I'm slowly getting the hang of the actual Appen tasks but I find the rest of it incredibly confusing - keeping track of hours (keep forgetting to note when I start Hmm), the invoicing, remembering they use Pacific time, trying to fit in 20 hours etc etc. Are they quite easy on you for the first week or two??

I've been accepted onto two projects, really hope I'm not expected to do 20 hours on each!

Bemystarlord · 16/11/2019 11:03

@rhij86 Have you been paid by Appen yet? I’m still waiting 😬

jazzandh · 16/11/2019 11:07

I follow this thread and am on Appen and haven't been paid yet either. It normally goes in within hours of being "paid" ...looking on Social there are others still saying the same - so I'm assuming it is a problem their end that they know about and will fix!!

AliciaWhiskers · 16/11/2019 12:12

I did my Appen invoice for the hours I worked yesterday, but although I read the mention of Pacific time, there didn't seem to be a section for me to put in times, only the number of hours worked. Have I gone wrong somewhere?

Wolfff · 16/11/2019 12:54

@AliciaWhiskers

No times only generally come into play if you work before 8am as they are 8 hours behind. If you worked say from 5am -6am you would add it to your invoice for the previous day.

seizethecuttlefish · 16/11/2019 15:05

@MoreMoneyPlease try Toggl. I use it and it's really good. Just a time but it adds everything up. I don't tend to forget as it's on the laptop.

Anyone else subconsciously classifying things irl? Just me? Blush
