Just wish Appen would give me a nice juicy project

@2littleChicks sorry yes it's another platform on cloudworkers, I think everyone gets automatically invited on the first month as the amount of messages on there gets so big.

2littleChicks · 11/11/2019 11:05

@Fizbo how many hours working is 2000 messages? I need to ideally earn about £500 and this will purely be done in the evenings after the kids are in bed! Or on my phone during work breaks!

Fizbo · 11/11/2019 11:10

I tried to do 12 a week the first month as they ask you too but in all honesty mine were spent in front of the tv so not a solid hour working uninterrupted. Give it a go and see how you get on there is always work available and I'm sure you could achieve that amount. If I didn't have Appen I would put more time and effort in. Good luck!

2littleChicks · 11/11/2019 11:15

@Fizbo amazing thanks so much for your help. Just sent all my paperwork off so fingers crossed they get in touch soon!!

TheLolaMontez · 11/11/2019 11:57

I'm just doing one of the tests for appen 20 hours tasks and I'm finding it really difficult.

If the work is the same as this, is there any point me even finishing the test? I can't see myself wanting to sit down and do this sort of work because, to be honest, I don't really "get" it and it doesn't excite me, not in the slightest...

Fizbo · 11/11/2019 12:09

@TheLolaMontez I felt the same especially as after failing three I'm not even bothering with trying the fourth one. I wonder though if the actual work is easier? Hopefully someone can confirm. Good luck!

TheLolaMontez · 11/11/2019 12:12

I just know what I'm like, if something doesn't hold my attention or interest me, I'm not going to be arsed about doing it. It would feel like torture and I'll lose interest. I could just grit my teeth and get in with it for the money but I can't see it happening somehow Confused

MoneyM · 11/11/2019 13:27

@TheLolaMontez I was exactly the same. Qualified for one of the Scottish projects but just thought it was too soul destroying so gave up!

MoreMoneyPlease · 11/11/2019 13:56

@TheLolaMontez Good point! I've finally passed two Appen tests now (although waiting to have logins etc) and even the instructions on how to get started, never mind invoicing, seem overly complicated and make me want to bang my head on the desk, so what will the actual work be like?? Would be good to hear from an Appener if the work is OK once you get going on it.

rhij86 · 11/11/2019 14:24

@fizbo @TheLolaMontez @moremoneyplease

I've been doing one 20hour task on appen for a couple of weeks and just started another one today. Neither are particularly exciting, but I'm also finding that they aren't as difficult as in the test. Both tasks are ones that I can quite easily do while watching a film etc for some background noise/entertainment. So while they are a little boring/tedious, I'm happy to plod along with them for the money!

Sonny13 · 11/11/2019 14:36

How long does it take to get accepted into Appen or lsoftsone?

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 11/11/2019 14:40

Still no srt log in for me so i took and passed another test just in case. Just need to be patient now

Fizbo · 11/11/2019 14:41

@rhij86 that's good to know, I just think at the moment I've wasted three hours on failing three tests so the likelihood is I will fail the fourth too.
I have two smaller projects on Appen and between that, my real life job and Cloudworkers I just don't think I have the head space for a big job with that time commitment. Plus I am still hoping that Crisp will finally get in touch!

But I'm pleased to hear the work itself is not as demanding as the test Smile

MoreMoneyPlease · 11/11/2019 14:44

Thanks @rhij86 I will continue to look forward to my logins arriving!

Otterses · 11/11/2019 14:59

Saw this one on Emma Drew ... similar to trading 212, but not launched yet. Supposedly a free £1-£100 share for the first 100000 people that sign up. No harm in giving it a go! Uses referral links too, so please feel free to post yours.

Lola- I think that's been my issue with the Appen tests I've been invited to do (and failed!) I just can't get my head to concentrate long enough for the test, so lord knows what I'd be like should I ever pass one!

The one I did pass, and got the link to the platform doo-dah, is still telling me "no work available" at the "get task" bit so I'm giving up on that as well. Hey ho!

I've got the Yukon test and guidelines come through. 167 pages to read 😬
Anyone else done Yukon?

Fizbo · 11/11/2019 15:45

@SNISR well done! according to reddit Yukon is the 'holy grail' of Appen! It goes on forever and has regular work! I'm sure someone on there said they were on their third year working it!

2littleChicks · 11/11/2019 16:06

Got my Cloudworkers "training" on Saturday 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Wolfff · 11/11/2019 16:31

Ooh
Just got a letter from Lloyd's I was overcharged on a credit card and they're refunding me £170! Unexpected bonus this month!

SNISR · 11/11/2019 16:41

The guidelines are so long and the email states the passing rate is very low, so won't get my hopes high.
