@Bemystarlord Thanks! Smile

GoodPlaceJanet · 08/11/2019 09:59

Has anyone who got accepted on Inari UC received the tool?

I'm so disappointed. It was months ago when I applied for it then I finally got the chance to do the qualification and get accepted on the project, I foolishly assumed that meant I could start! I was really hoping for some cash before Christmas :(

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 10:03

@GoodPlaceJanet unfortunately not :(
I emailed them about two weeks after I got accepted onto it last month and they said they had enough raters for now and I would be given access to the tool if and when they needed more workers. Very frustrating.

GoodPlaceJanet · 08/11/2019 10:11

@rhij86 oh what a shame :( fingers crossed some people drop out soon!

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 11:38

@Frenchdoors1 I got that message too, but it's ok. I think it's just a generic warning because you're not downloading the app from the usual source

Fizbo · 08/11/2019 11:39

Well done to everyone that's passed Appen tests.
I have failed Cotton and Elkhorn but have two more to try although I just don't think I have the brain capacity for them.
If Peppermint was more regular I would just stick with that and my other one but it's so hit and miss.

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 11:47

@Fizbo sorry to hear that :(
The two that I failed I found particularly hard. They seem to be very very specific about what they want. Perhaps give yourself a break and think over the others later on/over the weekend.
It's very frustrating when the tasks appear to be a sure thing but then it turns out the hours aren't there.

sunnyflowerblooming · 08/11/2019 12:05

@Frenchdoors1 oh really? maybe you found a wrong link to download or some kind of old version? Confused
I downloaded it from the official page - www.honeygain.com/ and all good. Wink

seizethecuttlefish · 08/11/2019 12:55

I failed Elkhorn. I honestly don't think the document helped much and I'm relieved as I don't think I could have worked it. Got Cottonwood to do. Hoping it's easier.

Just hope there's so longevity to them. That would be great

Frenchdoors1 · 08/11/2019 12:56

@rhij86
Thanks!

@sunnyflowerblooming
Thanks! That's the one I tried - both of them in the box give that message. I'll have another look later. Cheers

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 12:59

@seizethecuttlefish I found Cottonwood much easier than Elk and Imb. Good luck!

Frenchdoors1 · 08/11/2019 13:04

Has Anyone just tried to withdraw money from paypal to bank account??
I've just tried to draw an amount and it says I don't have enough in when I clearly do!! Do you think it's to do with the Neevo money going in?

Otterses · 08/11/2019 13:05

I've had an invitation to a £125 angelfish study, I've got to schedule a call from them later.

I bloody hate phone calls. They terrify me Grin

Niyamamama · 08/11/2019 13:22

Finally heard back from cloudworkers! It says in the terms I need a computer compatible with Windows, but I have a chrome book. Would I still be able to go ahead?

GachaBread · 08/11/2019 13:45

@Niyamamama I use a Chromebook on cloudworkers so I do not think you have nothing to worry about.

Niyamamama · 08/11/2019 14:11

@GachaBread phew! That's a relief! I'm hoping to make some extra money for Christmas and wouldn't be able to afford a new laptop until next year Smile

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 14:16

@Frenchdoors1 I had this the other day. It was because some of the money in there was in £ and some was $.
I had to do two separate withdrawals - one for the £ and one for the $.

Hope this helps :)

Frenchdoors1 · 08/11/2019 14:29

@rhij86

Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks.

I know they put my first payment on hold with ebay until the first buyer received my item etc, so wondered why they did it with Neevo.
Problem solved!
Thanks! Smile

RunningNinja79 · 08/11/2019 14:36

I had an email from Appen earlier to say that my application was successful and I need to do some stuff online. I'm at work at the moment so will have a look tonight.

Anything I need to know? I'm new to all this and I'm a bit nervous if I've got time. Is it all relatively easy once you get into it?

Problem is I have far too many bills that need paying so really could use the extra income.

Also how do you do all the legal stuff? Pay tax, declare to UC etc?

MoreMoneyPlease · 08/11/2019 14:42

Agghh! After failing Stanford yesterday, I spent two hours doing tests today - passed Elkhorn and then failed Deshka. No idea why, thought I was getting better! Took my time with both and used the 'find' tool to look up the terms so who knows? One more to do...

MoreMoneyPlease · 08/11/2019 14:50

@RunningNinja79 I registered to pay tax a few weeks ago (I did a bit of freelance work during the last tax year) as I'd stress about being 'found out' if I didn't! It wasn't too difficult and they discount £1,000 off what you've earned before they tax you. I must admit, I asked a friend who is self-employed to check over my (online) form before I submitted it but it was all OK anyway. Not sure about UC though.

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 14:55

@RunningNinja79 this is top of my list of things to do this weekend too now that I'm on a 'proper' project with a semi regular income. I've kept track of what I earned in October so hoping I'll be able to get it sorted.

For anyone in the know, my brother is self employed and said he has the option to pay his taxes to HMRC by DD - is this a thing? I would be much more comfortable doing that than trusting myself to keep it in a pot somewhere for up to a year.

@Moremoneyplease - well done on Elk. Good luck with the other one

MoreMoneyPlease · 08/11/2019 14:59

@rhij86 I think I ticked the box on mine to have it taken out monthly with PAYE (only works if you've got another job of course!)

Thanks for the good luck! Did you have any success with any of the Appen tests?

rhij86 · 08/11/2019 15:03

@MoreMoneyPlease how would that work though - what if they take loads out of your PAYE but you haven't earned much? I'll have to look into it.

I failed two yesterday but passed Cottonwood this morning. Already using the tool for another project I'm on so hoping the work will get added to that over the weekend and I can start next week :)

anxiouswaiting · 08/11/2019 15:26

Just passed Cottonwood Grin I rushed the last bit because it was using so much brain power and I was sure I wouldn't pass so I am very surprised! I hope I manage to keeo up with the project as it will be pretty taxing on the brain I think!
