Let's top up our bank balances for Christmas! It's the October earn £10 a day thread

Saw a few newcomers place marking on the previous thread, so a big welcome to them Smile

Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm sure we all could do with the extra earnings to pay for Christmas and keep us out of the January slump.

I'll copy and paste the first post of the previous thread as soon as I'm at a computer.

Has anyone got any targets in mind? I'm aiming for £20 a day, then hopefully £200 or so of 'extras'.

My clickerworker app is sooooo slow! Am I doing something wrong?

Frenchdoors1 · 11/10/2019 21:29

@LeaderoftheAteam

The app is very slow, a few people have said so. Annoying isn't it.

ricecrispiecake · 11/10/2019 21:34

Thank you to whoever posted about the MrQ bingo site. I won £5ish last night with the free spins and bought the free bingo tickets & I have just logged on and seem to have won £10!

Otterses · 11/10/2019 21:57

@popsadaisy

That totally depends on how much time you have on your hands Grin

@Otterses well I work part time and have Monday and Friday off but look after my 18 month old daughter on those days so realistically probably about two hours on my days off (when she naps!) and an hour every evening? I was going to sign up to Appen but my partner questioned me on whether or not i was have to declare myself as self employed? And whether it was effect maternity pay if I was ever to have another child? I wasn't really sure how you would declare tax etc and whether if you are earning money outside of your employment I would have to declare that to them?

InkyFingersInkyFace · 12/10/2019 00:16

Hello.

I'm waiting for paperwork and a manual from Cloudworkers.

Appen said I hadn't signed two things but my account was suspended so in waiting for that to lift.

Heard nothing from Crisp or ModSquad.

Tonight I've applied for RedWigWam who says there's nothing out there for me.

And Clickworker.

I just want something to come through.

Is it hard juggling several of these weird jobs?

Wolfff · 12/10/2019 07:10

@popsadaisy

If you earn over £1000 from self employment you need to register for self assessment. We are currently in the 19/20 tax year which ends 5 April 2020. Your tax return and payment would need to be submitted by 31 Jan 2021. Though I would register as soon as you pass the £1000 limit. HMRC would not routinely tell your employer you are also self employed.

If you are claiming benefits I would check if it is worth taking on extra work.

If you were in a situation of being on maternity leave and working at the same time, I expect it affects it, but I would worry about that at the time.

Appen and so on are normally short term jobs. Some people stay on projects for over a year if they are lucky, but you can drop them at any time.

Does anyone know where I can find the Pinterest guide on clickworker?

The links on clickworker don't work. I was booted out yesterday and before I'm able to rate again I think I should go through the guide.

Thanks 😊

dreamyflower · 12/10/2019 08:05

Going to try and join in this month. I'm a primary teacher (part time)with two under three so hoping to make a bit of income so I don't have to go back. I'm paying so much in transport so I only need to make £300 to keepe afloat. Any tips for the crisp test? I just tried it but got 18/20 😭 looks like it would be good. Also would anyone be able to explain what Appen is? Many thanks

Wolfff · 12/10/2019 08:11

@dreamyflower

What other people have done is screenshot their Crisp responses and go through them again. Crisp seem to recruit randomly, so passing the test is no guarantee.

Google Appen Connect. There is info about it all over the internet.

Frenchdoors1 · 12/10/2019 09:03

@SNISR

I don't seem to be able to get the training on clickworker either--it's nowhere to be seen!

prettyretro · 12/10/2019 09:07

How I wish I'd seen this thread when it first started!!!

Complete newbie saying hello! Smile

I know you're all so busy but I was wondering if anyone could explain a few things to me...

I've signed up to prolific and qmee...had nothing on prolific and made a few quid on qmee.

I'm seeing lots of posts about crisp and appen. Could anyone explain what these do? I like prolific and qmee as I'm quite happy just to type my answers - I work full time with 2 young kids already and looking to top up what I spend on childcare (or replenish some of it!)

I've failed drastically with the MLM trap and I know matched betting seems the way to go but I'd really rather not do that.

Sorry any help/ advice would be really greatly appreciated!

X

Wolfff · 12/10/2019 09:22

@prettyretro

Crisp is moderation work. Google Crisp Thinking. There is a test to go on the waiting list you need 19/20. Look for the link to freelance moderation work. No guarantee you will ever be offered work. May be random or regional - no one knows.

Appen Connect is either short term, one off or longer term jobs mostly related to online content/social media or related technologies. Those of us on it have signed NDAs. You can google. Sites like Reddit have more information.

I spend about an hour a day on a long term project and earn about £300 a month. It pays at $14 an hour for my project.

Again no guarantee of work and it can end at any time - even for a long term project.

SNISR · 12/10/2019 09:24

@prettyretro hi and welcome. I found this group a few of months ago and love it!

Qmee is good. If the surveys finish on the app, log in using your pc/laptop and you will have loads more on there.

Prolific is very good. It never kicks you out of the surveys unlike most of the survey sites. You need to log in every so often to see if there is a new survey as they tend to get taken up pretty fast. I'm an iPhone user but some people on here who have android have an app which alerts them when there is a change in the prolific I.e a survey has appeared. I think it's brilliant but iPhone don't have a similar app available.

Have you downloaded the Shoppix and HuYu app? Great for scanning receipts and earning points which you can then convert into money.

Im on the waiting list for crisp and it seems to be a great earner for people who are already on it.

Appen is really good to get just register and apply to all the projects and hopefully you'll get accepted on a long term project. I'm on the innari c project and it's a really good monthly earner.

Good luck!

prettyretro · 12/10/2019 09:40

Thank you @SNISR and @Wolfff

Really helpful advice! I'll look into crisp and appen today!

I'm really feeling the pinch with child care and general day to day spending on shopping that I need to do something!

Thank you for your help!

Moremoneyplease · 12/10/2019 10:12

@SNISR Thanks for the Qmee tip, I was just on the app (made 32p woohoo!) but didn't realise there were more surveys on the website. Will take a look.

Moremoneyplease · 12/10/2019 10:17

Can I ask a question about cashback websites? I just had an email through about a deal today: spend £15 with x online shop and get £10 cashback. What's to stop you spending £15, getting your £10 and then returning the item? Would the cashback website find out? Just wondered if anyone had done this!

lannister · 12/10/2019 10:32

Can anyone kindly recommend a good PC to do all these jobs on. Need to buy one just don't know which. Thanks

SNISR · 12/10/2019 10:36

@Moremoneyplease no problem 😊

As with cash back, i don't think it will track if you return the item. I could be wrong though.

prettyretro · 12/10/2019 13:00

I've downloaded Shoppix and it's telling me I have 310 tokens...can anyone tell me what that means?! 😂🙈

LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/10/2019 13:28

@prettyretro you collect 3200 tokens to claim a fiver basically. snapping a receipt gets you 30 then there are weekly bonuses and surveys.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/10/2019 13:30

did an app test on clickworker but it wont submit :/

prettyretro · 12/10/2019 13:37

Excellent thank you @LivingDeadGirlUK , appreciate it!

BlackCatFan · 12/10/2019 13:42

I got an email this morning asking me to complete a test for project Peppermint (appen) it's exactly the same as what we're doing on Clickworker! Except I'm hoping this will be more stable, and then you won't get booted like you do on CW.

Apparently peppermint starts within the next 2 weeks.. minimum of 10 hours per week, up to as many as you want to do.

CatHopeful · 12/10/2019 13:46

The Clickworker Pinterest job was a nice little top up - I managed just over 24 Euros in the end :)
