I can't believe this has been going for nearly half a year!

As always, everyone is welcome to join us in earning an extra £10 a day Smile

There's hundreds of ways to manage this, but here is a list of some of the sites that are discussed frequently, and know caused some confusion for our new joiners last time.

Appen - a contracting website that offers a wide variety of work from social media evaluation, to voice based work. Please do not sign up to the Appen site you google, use this link, or you won't register correctly and you'll waste time waiting for projects that won't come your way.

https://connect.appen.com/qrp/public/jobs?uref=c48139fc0a25bae5d07c634d0a043f5b

(Full disclosure, that's my referral code and I get $25 if you are accepted and work for Appen for 150 hours, if anyone else would like to post their referral code feel free)

Axie Infinity - A crypto currency based game, the idea being that you breed 'creatures' battle them, then sell them on for profit to other gamers. Money can also be made through people renting land from you, or using your Axie to breed with theirs.

Leapforce - was Leapforce, now Appen.

Cloudworkers - Saucy chat site that pays per message.

Crisp - online website moderation, more information can be found here - https://survey.crispthinking.com/risk-analyst. There may also be references to the dashboard, Klipfolio and atlassian and slack, which are all tools used by crisp.

LionBridge - similar to Appen.

@Wheelycote - same as anxiouswaiting with regards to Carmel and crescent.

The books were beyond repair and he doesn't have home insurance Hmm I do but other than the wallpaper nothing was damaged luckily - at least the rain has stopped!

Dashboard hasn't updated from yesterday, think I did around £30, been on again this morning but it's quite slow going

MrsWombat · 05/06/2019 09:50

Just checking in on the new thread.

I've been earning around £10 a day from the Truckee project so far. It's dropped from 19 to 17 items though so not quite the $14 for an hours work yet. Also hopefully starting with the freelance admin clients soon.

TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 11:08

Hello all, I'm a recent lurker and participant in the £10 per day challenge. I'm a recently made SAHM with DD who is 10months. My mat pay has now ended and I do wish in hindsight that I had started this earlier to have a bit of a cushion for when my money dried up, alas, here we are.
I desperately want to reduce my credit card bill(s) and some other outgoings I have currently that I just want to get rid of so living is a little more comfortable.

I started off with matched betting last week and I've had relative success with a profit of around £200. I had to withdraw some funds though as my bank account was looking a little poor and I'd prefer having the money in my bank rather than strewn all over the internet. I'm just waiting for it to arrive back in my bank account and then I might be able to unclench a little...

I have signed up to various survey sites, some of which I have had some success with, I've found a lot that offer credits or points rather than actual cash. I'm finding them a bit draining too, however I keep reminding myself it's all extra money I didn't have before.

Also signed up to something called 20cogs - you have to sign up to various offers and earn cash back - the promise is of around £200 earnings, there's a lot of gambling sites on there though and I'd rather keep the two separate so I know where I am. You have to fill out all the "cogs" before you can draw money out (I think) so watching this space...

Applied for Crisp yesterday - 18/20 GAH! Tried again and got 16... will try again today.

I didn't do any better yesterday as I'm a bit concerned about the arid desert that is my current account, so trying other avenues for now.

I felt a bit exhausted yesterday with it all. I did a bit of bingo, got cash back and a few surveys but I found it mentally draining, I think I'd spent too long on it all.

I think I might set myself a schedule, perhaps do matched betting at the start of the month (after DH gets paid) then concentrate on surveys etc in between. I realise matched betting is a bit awkward with the welcome offers etc but I'll just try to exploit it the best I can before I get gubbed.

I want to have a look at Appen too at some point.

Anyway, after all that ramble, hello everyone!

TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 11:12

betting* not better

TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 11:17

20cogs.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/1683197?keyword=referred

referral link for 20cogs if anyone is interested Smile

BeeMyBaby · 05/06/2019 11:39

I looked into the 20cogs thing as it was advertised on Mumsnet jobs but was very disappointed, I don't like signing up to lots of things for very little reward, and you only get the money if you agree to sign up to everything.

TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 12:05

I kind of feel the same Bee - I think I rushed into it tbh and now I'm part way through I figure I may as well try to finish it. It's a bit of a ball ache but I guess I'm a little desperate Blush

Bemystarlord · 05/06/2019 12:21

Hi, hoping to join you if i may. Feeling abit crap as I've just failed part two of the Lionbridge exam, would of been just right for what I'm looking for so really disappointed. I signed up to crisp a few weeks ago but have not heard anything yet. Wondering whether it's worth trying Appen or whether its not worth it if i didn't pass Lionbridge? Any advice very welcome.

bluebluezoo · 05/06/2019 13:08

Following. Signed up to crisp and have made £55 by spending £20 at foxybingo and gala bingo via quidco.

Also signed up to prolific.

Otterses · 05/06/2019 13:18

Just did Ampersand Grin $32 hopefully! Did it in around 1.5 hours. Good thing seeing as Crisp is so quiet. Nothing from Profilic (I keep in running next to the trust tool so I can jump on anything coming in!)

@Bemystarlord don't feel bad! LionBridge is shite anyway Grinlots of people fail, it's a right bastard of an exam. I'd apply to Appen (please use the link in the first post or you'll end up doing silly MicroTasks that pay peanuts!) there's so many projects to apply for. And some even don't have exams!

@TheLolaMontez Ugh, 20 cogs? YES. It looks a right ball ache. @BeeMyBaby I really don't understand how that even ended up on mumsnet jobs

Please, both of you just be really careful to track when you need to cancel stuff!

@TheLolaMontez NOOOO! Do the gambling offers via Quidco or coupon arbitrage the cashback is likely heaps better.

I'd really recommend Appen. I know I go on and on about it, but once you're on a project, you're golden. I love my £10.61 a day off there for an hours work okay I don't take the full hour.

@MrsWombat Remind me, have you spoken with support? You really should be getting 20 ads or there's a huge issue their end!

@reddA Sad I'm glad everything seems okay!

The dashboard is my biggest obsession in life. I'm tempted to limit my time spent staring lovingly at it.

OP posts:
Otterses · 05/06/2019 13:19

No idea what formatting issue went on there. I look like a drunk person Grin

OHHHH! Maybe Appen voice tasks would be more appealing after a bottle of wine?

OP posts:
MrsWombat · 05/06/2019 13:32

@Otterses No i haven't spoken to support. The FAQ says typically 20 stories so I assumed just under was within normal parameters? But I've just seen the very last FAQ that says to contact them if the batch has less than 20, so I will do that thanks.

TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 13:32

I'm on it with my tracking for cancelling the mountains of offers on 20cogs. I'm not going to bother with anything like that again I don't think.

I've done a little bit of bingo through topcashback so thats something, I just wish it was all a bit quicker! Patience, patience...

I've just applied for a bit of flexible work in the field I was in prior to having baby, I did use to do it freelance but it's not easy to find the odd day here and there unfortunately and childcare is limited and no way can I afford to put her into a paid childcare arrangement.

Done a few surveys this morning, going to have a look at Appen this afternoon.

Bemystarlord · 05/06/2019 13:34

thanks @Otterses have just applied to Appen so will keep fingers crossed!

I had hoped to hear from Crisp but sounds like it isn't a quick process!

Havehad a few surveys on prolific but only upto £6.15 in two weeks.

Otterses · 05/06/2019 13:48

@MrsWombat Aye give them a poke, hopefully they can sort that for you quickly.

@TheLolaMontez I completely sympathise with childcare, it's incredibly expensive (do much so it makes your take home seem a bit depressing!) what field are you in? We can all keep an eye out for something that might be suitable for you

@Bemystarlord I think crisp really varies, hopefully you'll hear back soon though. Profilic is really variable too - my current earnings of them are for the year 😂 !

OP posts:
TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 14:15

Thanks Otter - I'm a Veterinary Nurse, so not really a flexible or easy job to drop in and out of. I'm in contact with a few agency reps via linkedin who will let me know if they get anything remotely suitable. I've been in the industry a long time so I do have a lot of contacts, however there aren't many practices that will offer you a randomisers half day on the second Tuesday of every month. You get the idea...

Just signed up to prolific, quite like the look of that one, some of the survey sites give me the heebie-jeebies, they look as though they're just waiting to infect your computer with viruses and steal all your money (if I had any, haha)!

TheLolaMontez · 05/06/2019 14:47

I've just totalled up my earnings so far (including cashback which is not yet paid) £326.44 - that's not too bad for less than a weeks work I don't think and in between chasing around after my little two legged Hoover Grin

0hmygoodness · 05/06/2019 14:53

Can I just ask, what happens when you go on holiday with Appen projects. I want to sign up for some but I am away on hols in August so I don't know whether to wait until after then or try to sign up now for them.
Thanks

0hmygoodness · 05/06/2019 18:56

and another question, @Otterses, what is Ampersand?

Another survey site that is ticking over steadily for me is Intellizoom

www.intellizoom.com

Otterses · 05/06/2019 19:36

@0hmygoodness generally they're fine! I haven't been abroad since working for them, so I've just worked within the country if I've been away. Apply now. There's nothing to say you'll get a project straight away, and there may be no projects to apply to if you wait till it's August. Ampersand is a project (one off) on the micro task Appen, I'll find a link for you.

@TheLolaMontez That's fab Grin it all adds up so quickly! And those tiny hoovers so take up an awful lot of time Wink

This may be a totally bonkers idea, and I have no idea of the legalities/practicalities behind it - but when my Nan was in a care home, her friends used to really struggle getting their pets to appointments. We often said it would be fantastic if there was a service where a vet could pop in for check ups, nail clipping, etc. I have no idea if this is a service that already exists, this is more my random musings Grin

OP posts:
Otterses · 05/06/2019 19:56

Right folks - migraine coming on! That's it for today I think. Alarm set for 4:55, as there have been some good surges the last few mornings.

Crisp - £66.89
Appen - £53.05
Appen micro tasks - £25
Profilic - £17.55
ASOS refund - £26

£188.49/£1000

bluebluezoo · 05/06/2019 20:11

Question about prolific- just had a look and had two studies in my list. Completed the first, then went back to do the other and it had gone.

Do they fill up that quickly? There was still 300 odd places left. Or do you pick one and the others disappear? In which case i’ll pock the highest paying!

0hmygoodness · 05/06/2019 20:57

Prolific questionaires do go quickly so definitely pick the higher paying one.

reddA · 05/06/2019 21:11

Prolific ones do go mega quick - I had a £2.50 one earlier though so that was good :) I've earnt £103 with them since February!

@Otterses I get migraines too so I have to get on with work while I can as they can last a few days (the aftermath of computer screens making me feel seasick!) Some of the flashing gifs really affect me! Hope you feel better in the morning (or, middle of the night as 4am still is for me Grin )

Hope the dashboard updates tomorrow, not done a huge amount today as it's been so slow

bluebluezoo · 05/06/2019 21:25

Another question- what are the tax implications?

Do i need to keep track and declare it as income?
