I can't believe this has been going for nearly half a year!

As always, everyone is welcome to join us in earning an extra £10 a day Smile

There's hundreds of ways to manage this, but here is a list of some of the sites that are discussed frequently, and know caused some confusion for our new joiners last time.

Appen - a contracting website that offers a wide variety of work from social media evaluation, to voice based work. Please do not sign up to the Appen site you google, use this link, or you won't register correctly and you'll waste time waiting for projects that won't come your way.

https://connect.appen.com/qrp/public/jobs?uref=c48139fc0a25bae5d07c634d0a043f5b

(Full disclosure, that's my referral code and I get $25 if you are accepted and work for Appen for 150 hours, if anyone else would like to post their referral code feel free)

Axie Infinity - A crypto currency based game, the idea being that you breed 'creatures' battle them, then sell them on for profit to other gamers. Money can also be made through people renting land from you, or using your Axie to breed with theirs.

Leapforce - was Leapforce, now Appen.

Cloudworkers - Saucy chat site that pays per message.

Crisp - online website moderation, more information can be found here - https://survey.crispthinking.com/risk-analyst. There may also be references to the dashboard, Klipfolio and atlassian and slack, which are all tools used by crisp.

LionBridge - similar to Appen.

What's the link for Neilson Research?

I've signed up for Mobile Expressions but I thought it was only £52 a year excluding the bonus. You get a credit a week, and 20 credits equals a £20 voucher. Is there something else?

Blessthekids · 11/06/2019 18:54

@Pizzaaddict I got this from a government website. 1. Universal Credit tops up your earnings. When you start work, the amount of Universal Credit you get will gradually reduce as you earn more. But unlike Jobseeker's Allowance, your payment won't stop just because you work more than 16 hours a week.

@Otterses Am so impressed with all your knowledge!

I am doing little bits on prolific and clickworker whilst waiting. I might also apply for Lionbridge to distract me but it may just mean adding to my list of waiting! I am very tempted to give cloudworkers a go just to see what its about. Will leave it for a few weeks and see if I get anywhere with the other places first. Never say never......

Spare5 - so far so slow. Doing qualifiers but getting no actual tasks.

justtheonethen · 11/06/2019 19:06

@MrsWombat you get two credits a week with mobilexpression

GoodPlaceJanet · 11/06/2019 19:46

Thanks @Yugi that's really helpful.

Would you mind me asking how many real hours it took you to make that?

Also do you use American spellings for American transcriptions? I did the test and went with American spellings ie program instead of programme.

Keeping my fingers crossed I get accepted.

MrsWombat · 11/06/2019 20:00

I’m definitely only getting 1 credit per week. I’ve been doing it for three weeks and I’ve just had the 15 credit sign up bonus. Sad

justtheonethen · 11/06/2019 20:08

@MrsWombat how weird....

Otterses · 11/06/2019 20:11

@MrsWombat Confused this is honestly baffling. I'd get in touch with them!

Hey all, been lurking but thought I'd announce myself as I've got a query on a Fletcher assignment for Appen.

What the hell do I say for this one???

Topic: Integrity
Please provide the first way you would verbally communicate with a conversational bot, in the context of wanting to describe user suicidal intent and self-injury
Record a new response. Make sure you start your recording with Hey Portal

Also, thanks for all the advice here - really useful!!

reddA · 11/06/2019 20:21

Hey Portal I want to slit my wrists???? I haven't done Fletcher btw (my house is too loud) so no idea how it works Hmm

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 11/06/2019 20:23

Thanks Red - I'm getting sick of the sound of my own voice but if I do all 8 million recordings I get $50 Grin

reddA · 11/06/2019 20:27

I have a parrot so I can't do voice ones as he'll start talking over me Blush

Mamaslave18 · 11/06/2019 20:34

I’m doing Fletcher. No way is this just 3 hours work!

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 11/06/2019 20:42

Mama - totally agree

Toothlessismyspiritanimal · 11/06/2019 20:42

Losing the will to live!!!

Mamaslave18 · 11/06/2019 20:48

I still have over 700 to go!!

TheLolaMontez · 11/06/2019 23:38

Hello folks,
I too am doing fletcher and I have no idea if I actually said the correct thing all the way through. I've done 200 so far but I definitely caught myself saying "Hi (whatever you're called)" instead of "Hey" towards the end- I don't know if someone will trawl through all my recordings before I get paid though to find out if I indeed said Hi instead of Hey Confused

Deffo think it's more than 3 hours worth, i was hammering it earlier and I think it was over an hour for 200 so that's at least 4 and a bit for however many there are Hmm back on it tomorrow!

Otterses · 12/06/2019 08:21

Fletcher is tedious I never completed it.

I'm on £365.26 so far in total for the month. Averaging around £33 a day, assuming I stay on target, I'll just miss out on £1000, so I need to up my game a bit.

@reddA I had the lack of motivation last month. I think the answer is a break, this money making business ends to being really consuming, it definitely drains you after a while!

Bemystarlord · 12/06/2019 08:22

Staring Fletcher later too, sounds fun 😬.

I applied to cloudworkers last week too, anyone know how long it takes to hear back?

Won £238 last night with the free wager on gala bingo, and did through cash back with quidco so thats a nice bonus :)

TheLolaMontez · 12/06/2019 09:57

I applied for cloud workers too but I didn't give a big description in the about me section as I'm not really fussed if I get it or not, I wondered how long the application process took too. Probably another put the kettle on jobby Brew

Yugi · 12/06/2019 10:03

@GoodPlaceJanet Rev is US spelling all the way even if the speakers are all obviously British or Australian etc. I just let the built in spell checker correct my automatic British spelling mostly.
More difficult is that things like gonna, wanna, are apparently acceptable US spellings, I automatically correct them and have to go back and change them back.
The Style Guide is your bible, I usually have it open in a separate window all the time.
The forums are also great, if you post a question there, someone will usually answer in a couple of minutes.
I didn't count the hours I worked but I was on six days for from 30 mins to 2 hours.
Just got accepted for TakeNote today, so going to see how that pans out as well.

GoodPlaceJanet · 12/06/2019 10:10

Thanks Yugi that's great

TheLolaMontez · 12/06/2019 11:42

So I'm just looking into Mobilexpression - lots of really poor reviews on Trustpilot saying that they don't pay out and they block you from your account and emails bounce back when you try to contact their customer service department... Bit reluctant to try it but I'd also quite like the money! Confused

justtheonethen · 12/06/2019 11:54

@TheLolaMontez I've had no problem claiming my two amazon vouchers I've had so far.

TheLolaMontez · 12/06/2019 11:56

I think I'll give it a go. It's not like I'm doing lots of hard work for no reward with that one.

mydogisthebest · 12/06/2019 12:27

MobileXpression made my phone so so slow and then I had a lot of problems with my phone so deleted it
