I can't believe this has been going for nearly half a year!

As always, everyone is welcome to join us in earning an extra £10 a day Smile

There's hundreds of ways to manage this, but here is a list of some of the sites that are discussed frequently, and know caused some confusion for our new joiners last time.

Appen - a contracting website that offers a wide variety of work from social media evaluation, to voice based work. Please do not sign up to the Appen site you google, use this link, or you won't register correctly and you'll waste time waiting for projects that won't come your way.

https://connect.appen.com/qrp/public/jobs?uref=c48139fc0a25bae5d07c634d0a043f5b

(Full disclosure, that's my referral code and I get $25 if you are accepted and work for Appen for 150 hours, if anyone else would like to post their referral code feel free)

Axie Infinity - A crypto currency based game, the idea being that you breed 'creatures' battle them, then sell them on for profit to other gamers. Money can also be made through people renting land from you, or using your Axie to breed with theirs.

Leapforce - was Leapforce, now Appen.

Cloudworkers - Saucy chat site that pays per message.

Crisp - online website moderation, more information can be found here - https://survey.crispthinking.com/risk-analyst. There may also be references to the dashboard, Klipfolio and atlassian and slack, which are all tools used by crisp.

LionBridge - similar to Appen.

@otterses I clicked on that link and it asked for an email address and there was already one in there. Perhaps yours? If so you may wish to remove the link.

Not sure how it has happened!

Vilanelle · 11/06/2019 14:14

Scored 13 on Crisp :(

justtheonethen · 11/06/2019 14:15

@Vilanelle I only got 14 the first time, keep trying

mydogisthebest · 11/06/2019 14:15

Otterses, I just clicked through to that Hastings site. They want a copy of passport or driving licence and a picture of you holding the id. Also want proof of address such as a bill.

£50 would be great but it does sound too good to be true and I am concerned that they want that id. Does anyone know if it is genuine?

justtheonethen · 11/06/2019 14:16

@TheLolaMontez I still can't see your photo!

MummyOfTwo92 · 11/06/2019 14:16

Hi ladies. How do these work? Not interested in the saucy message one though 🤦🏻‍♀️. Thanks ladies

Otterses · 11/06/2019 14:19

@justtheonethen I can't see anyone's photos! I'm imaging the photo is of a glass of wine Grin

@MummyOfTwo92 awhhhh! Really? Wink

Was there one in particular that caught your interest? How much time a day do you have to dedicate to earning extra income?

TheLolaMontez · 11/06/2019 14:23

Can you seen me now...? Grin

TheLolaMontez · 11/06/2019 14:24

Started recording for Appen today, done 200 voice recordings, around 1/4 of the way there. I'm hoping it doesn't lose them as I stop for some dinner and getting the baby up from nap time Confused

MummyOfTwo92 · 11/06/2019 14:25

@Otterses yeah no that one probably won't be for me 😂. Happily engaged.

I have a lot of free time. Stay at home mum at the moment.

justtheonethen · 11/06/2019 15:21

@TheLolaMontez awww the best distraction Smile. You won't lose your recordings don't worry.

Fizbo · 11/06/2019 16:25

I'm confused if you work for Appen global are you also allowed to work for Appen connect?

reddA · 11/06/2019 16:50

@TheLolaMontez I could cope with a distraction that cute!! Grin

Pizzaaddict · 11/06/2019 17:46

Anyone doing cloudworkers - do you actually register as self employed?? Or just keep it quiet? I claim universal credit and really don’t want to register as self employed doing this and then end up hating it (haven’t started yet) and have messed up our claim. On the other hand I don’t want to get in trouble for doing a cash in hand job and not declaring it.. don’t know if I should even bother doing it now

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 11/06/2019 17:51

Statements late again...

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 11/06/2019 17:52

@TheLolaMontez 😍

Otterses · 11/06/2019 18:05

@Pizzaaddict I posted a few days ago about the 'threshold' for earning additional income. Basically the gist of it is you have a £1000 trading allowance which means you can earn £1000 before declaring it and paying tax. However, I have no idea how this works with universal credit.

Would you be open to matched betting? It's tax exempt, and not classed as income, rather 'winnings'.

GoodPlaceJanet I have been doing Rev, while i wait for my other applications to be answered. Earned $93 dollars last week, it is a lot better once you build up your speed.
Start by doing short, less than ten minute projects and easy ones. The long ones can take bloody ages while you are still learning.
You get graded on every project to start with and low grades will mean you can't stay on.

Blessthekids · 11/06/2019 18:13

@Fizbo Bizarre I was literally just thinking that as I got an email from global asking me to do a project. I am waiting for Appen Connect to review my documents so I left it as I don't want to muddy the waters! I must have joined Appen Global years ago, I did take a look and I think it is more of a micro task platform. There was a message saying it had taken over figure eight!

Otterses · 11/06/2019 18:16

@WithAllIntenseAndPurposes right, I think we both maybe need to lower our expectations haha! Hopefully tomorrow.

@TheLolaMontez 😍 ohhhh it's lovely having a wee helper! DS just likes to sit on my laptop if I work near him.

@Fizbo You certainly can do both.

@MummyOfTwo92 Are your little ones home with you during the day? If so crisp will suit you, it's easy to dip in and out around the kids Smile but I'd apply to Crisp, Appen, LionBridge, isoftstone, and see what sticks. They can all be good long term earners.

I'd sign up with all the market research companies mentioned on here. Loads of great remote focus groups for good money.

Another easy earner, which I haven't mentioned in ages, is combing the following:

Mobilexpression - £100 a year
Nielsen Research - £100 a year
Utest (mentioned upthread about the project where they test your WiFi) - £84

£284 for doing NOTHING Grin the first two you just install the apps on your phone and they run in the background.

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 11/06/2019 18:20

@Otterses lol I'm so skint this month 🤣

Pizzaaddict · 11/06/2019 18:24

@Otterses god knows. It all seems very complicated. I would rather just give it a try and see what sort of money can be made and then make a decision but the risk of being caught working cash in hand fills me with anxiety. I have already tried matched betting. I made a few hundred (greatly needed at the time) but then things all got too complicated for me

Otterses · 11/06/2019 18:34

@Pizzaaddict

I think the best way forward is to get in touch with the universal credit people Smile though I don't think you're penalised for earning - don't they deduct a set amount per pound you earn?

In the meantime, you can certainly sign up with mobilexpression, Nielsen and the Utest project I mentioned a couple of days ago. They're passive income, and 'rewards' in the form of vouchers, so tax exempt. I know it's only around £300 a year, but it really does add up.

Daft question, but are you due any changes to contents insurance/phone upgrade/etc? There's some really good cashback deals at the moment.

OP posts:
Otterses · 11/06/2019 18:37

Quidco are doing the spend £12.50 get £12.50 cash back deal again Grin worth it if you need something! You should get an email inviting you to opt in.

Pizzaaddict · 11/06/2019 18:46

@Otterses thanks for those suggestions will have a look! We are moving soon so will need contents insurance (we have none at the moment) - I was just going to go with who our letting agent recommended, hadn’t even thought about cash back deals. Will google. Thanks x
