Hello veterans and newbies Grin can't believe we're still going a quarter of the way through the year!

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been crap at tracking properly. Obviously I've got invoices to go off, but I'm going to try to be better this month.

Good start this morning! £28 (£18 less my £10 deposit) on a virgin bonanza box, £8 cashback on the virgin deal too. £10.61 Appen work already done today. I most likely won't do any Crisp today, as I've got an essay due Friday I need to crack on with.

£36.31 so far this month.

How's everyone else ticking along?

Otterses · 12/05/2019 09:10

@mydogisthebest a lot of people get a resit Smile

I'll dig out that blog, and there's a really good and useful thread on the money shed about this too.

And just throwing an idea out there ...

Hypothetically, how would you all feel about a 'work from home' job fair, centralised around companies similar to Crisp and Appen where you can dip in and out around family commitments?

OP posts:
GoodPlaceJanet · 12/05/2019 09:27

mydog I'm in the same position as you. Applied and signed the T&Cs and apparently I'll have access to the exam portal a week on Wednesday. No idea what to expect!

It's well worth reading the thread, I know it's long, but there's a lot of information in there.

Ooo theres money blogs ottersees, what are the best ones to look at?
Are you thinking of setting up a jobs fair?

For those using crisp, how many days /weeks was it before you heard back after completing the 19/20 initial questions?

The turbo in my car broke and has been in the garage for a couple of weeks. Repairs will go on my credit card but im keen to get something /s in place to pay it off quickly

justtheonethen · 12/05/2019 10:43

@WheelyCote about two weeks. Took less than a month in total from applying to starting work.

WheelyCote · 12/05/2019 10:45

Thanks just

0utForAWalkBitch · 12/05/2019 12:26

Hi all! I’ve been following this since the last thread and have been accepted to crisp in the most recent intake so thank you for all the info!

It seems a bit too good to be true! Apparently I’ve earned nearly £400 so far, according to the crisp dashboard. My questions are, how accurate have you found the crisp dashboard, will I really get paid all that? Or is it worth taking with a pinch of salt? Also is the crisp dashboard the same as klipfolio or have I just not been given access to klipfolio yet? Thanks!

justtheonethen · 12/05/2019 12:32

@Outforawalkbitch I've been wondering the same thing! £400 is amazing!

Otterses · 12/05/2019 12:35

@0utForAWalkBitch honestly I find the dashboard underestimates earnings, I've found it says one thing for the day before... then it suddenly goes up in value! First pay day was more than expected too.Suggest using PayPal not bank transfer, PayPal was payment the next day Smile

Is it paid monthly otterses?
How much is it ph?

SqueakyPigs · 12/05/2019 14:37

Hi, I’ve followed the threads on and off and already did topcashback and survey sites/apps where you submit receipts for points. I was wondering how easy crisp is and how much experience you’d need? Can you dip in and out of it, I’m currently studying a full-on degree and exams are approaching, I have placements over the summer but also have a generous amount of free time. Would it be any good for me? I’m hoping to earn around £600 in year to go towards a trip to NYC. Also, would I then have to count all earnings and declare as an income? Making my student loan decrease? I only earn about £10 a year from receipt apps and £70 ish from topcashback so not a lot at all, surveys I probably earn about £15 a month so, again, not a huge amount. Do you think this would be useful for me or a lot of effort for little gain (due to decreased student loan payments and less down time between placements?)

SqueakyPigs · 12/05/2019 14:37

Sorry for the terrible grammar, I’m knackered.

Otterses · 12/05/2019 16:23

@WheelyCote Lionbridge? £10 an hour. That's all I know I'm afraid! Crisp I can't tell you 😂 it averages £10 an hour, but there's 'surges' or work which puts it at time and a half etc.

Which bit of Crisp do you sign up for please? Community management or crisis monitoring?

justtheonethen · 12/05/2019 17:30

@PlaymobilPirate click where it says 'find out more here' under the freelance moderation bit.

PlaymobilPirate · 12/05/2019 18:11

Thanks @justtheonethen

I scored 12 - terrible!

Otterses · 12/05/2019 18:24

@PlaymobilPirate try again Grin there are no limits!

PlaymobilPirate · 12/05/2019 18:42

@Otterses I've done it once and now, embarrassingly can't find the right place on the website again Confused

PlaymobilPirate · 12/05/2019 18:48

Found it! survey.crispthinking.com/risk-analyst

Bbub · 12/05/2019 18:51

Hi things have moved on a lot since i last posted. I was the one who failed the final crisp assessment. There was a long gap between when I did all the prelim training and taking the actual test (my fault) and thats why I think. And i was going really fast aiming for quantity over quality without realising!

Im still on the cloudworker thing. Have not received a payment yet as apparently I gave the wrong info for international payments.

Its not as good money as Crisp but I only had to do a bit of reading and do 5 test messages before being up and running.

Imagine you are texting someone you met on a dating site. Convo varies from what are your hobbies/interests to full on sexting!! It's not for everyone. I find the sexting easier than pretending to be a 45 year old project manager or whatever it might be at that time.

Topcashback doing well for me and just spent my modileXpression amazon voucher it's LEGIT Grin

justtheonethen · 12/05/2019 18:55

@Bbub I'm not sure I could do sexting, worryingly I think I would be better pretending to be a 45yo project manager 🤣

Otterses · 12/05/2019 20:16

I've been faffing 😂 but I'm attempting the Java exam this evening! Has anyone else invited tried it yet?

OP posts:
BoltMosaic · 12/05/2019 22:39

I failed the Java exam twice. I’m not sure how as I referred to the guidelines throughout.

Good luck
