The continuing crusade to expose the underhand tactics used to lure (mainly) women into exploitative schemes using the lure of 'financial independence'.

I've been across a restaurant from Yawn this week too! I'm not into fat-shaming, but she really isn't a good advert for a so-called health and wellness business. And the make-up....Shock

Whiterangey · 11/03/2019 21:57

If only her internet followers could see jet without the padded photos to make get look slimmer.

If the C9 worked toy would only need to ever buy one, not the countless numbers of C9's that Yawn uses.

There is so much bullshit around diets. All you need to do to lose eight is to eat less calories than you burn. Starvation mode is also as myth. Your body does not hold onto fat if you don't eat enough, your body just keeps getting thinner.

3 meals a day full of healthy shit is a must. Have treats. Loving your body the way it is most be top of your list though. Which is something Yawn doesn't do.

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 21:57

I hate to comment on people appearance and weight as well. However she shouldn't be peddling C9's

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 21:59

I spoke to my son on way back and explained why I was so annoyed and the way that this selling is to vulnerable people thinking they could have the lifestyle.
He got it.

QueenOfPharts · 11/03/2019 21:59

Hi all, have been following these threads for about a year now. Over the years I have had a few awful encounters with mln bots. One a member of dh family and the other a school friends dsis.
Both bots tried to target me at my most vulnerable while heavily pg and after the birth of dd. I had l lost my job at 7.5 months pregnant and I just got preyed on it was so horrible-neither had dc at that point but do now so hope they now feel horribly guilty. I was harassed with phone calls, messages and both got nasty when I wasn't interested.
Anyways was just invited to a physical tropic party in a few weeks time. So get this not sure if this is a new tack but the party is being hosted at the house of one of the mums from school who as far as I know isnt a bot. Some bot friend/relation of hers is going to run a party from her house but we dont know who the bot is? So its called the name of the school mums tropic party iyswim. It also predictably came out later that it was tropic. Torn between politely declining or giving a damming review of mlms and giving a long list as to why I wouldn't be seen dead at oneWink
Some of the mums have twigged but others are excited and cant wait to goConfused

JaniceBattersby · 11/03/2019 23:42

I can see why you’re torn Queen

My friend has started doing tropic. She’s adamant it’s ‘not like other MLMs’, all the products are ‘natural’, there no ‘pyramid’ etc.

This, despite the fact that everything she says make her sound 100 per cent full metal botted. I told her that all the bots say exactly the same thing she does. She’s obsessed with that Susan woman. She’s always calling her a goddess on FB Confused

It’s the most cult-like MLM there is IMO because of the blessed leader Susan, who came from nothing and created her own success, hun.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 12/03/2019 07:18

Hi knowledgeable MLM peeps. A school mum friend has started doing FM Fragrances. I take it that's MLM? It has all the hallmarks;

  • annoying Facebook spam
  • overuse of clearly pre written posts
  • constant spamming
  • invitation to parties
  • crazy upbeat attitude

To be fair she says she's doing it for some extra pennies not to get rich. But I'm already annoyed.

spanfan · 12/03/2019 07:29

I wonder if any bots account for all these coffees and cakes and meals out they have slamming their bizniz.( Why does that sound rude!!! 😂😂😂,)

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 12/03/2019 08:14

Paddy Just out of interest was their son there?

I find it interesting that he doesn't seem to want to be part of this "perfect family" paraded across social media and dodges the photos. Even Yawn has admitted that he doesn't want to be photographed.
Can't blame him though. I wonder if he can see through the bullshit that she claims is her business or whether he's just a grumpy teen who finds his parents majorly embarrassing?

Also, how much time was spent trying to get the perfect selfie?

UmBankroll · 12/03/2019 08:58

@JasperRising Just done some investigating and it seems there actually are a handful of MLM companies permitted to operate out here, of which one is FL (others include Thermomix, QNet, Evergreen and Jeunesse). My apologies; my experience was with Nu Skin, Juice Plus and Herbalife bots - none of those companies are permitted to trade in the GCC.

Paddy1234 · 12/03/2019 10:31

No it was just the three of them there last night

Spongebobette · 12/03/2019 11:09

Yes, FM Fragrances is MLM

9dartfinish2nd · 12/03/2019 12:20

@spongebobette I thought I had read all of those stories but I missed that one, Christ that was awful and compelling at the same time.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 12/03/2019 18:57

Thanks @Spongebobette I'm off to have a look at that link. Appreciate you posting.

Ladiva1971 · 12/03/2019 21:14

I see Broke lasted a whole 2 days of changing his FB to private. Grin

BSintolerant · 12/03/2019 21:45

@umbankroll the hype surrounding Forever Fibbing's activities in the UAE was disturbing. What worries me is that MLMs target vulnerable people, especially women so it's only a matter of time until bots start targeting migrant workers who could find themselves in dire straits.

I wonder why some ME countries ali certain MLMs yet have outlawed others? I'm still amazed that they're allowed to operate in Islamic countries at all.

Ah ... Who else misses our friend CAM who was based in the UAE? She used to post some insightful stuff on here. 😥

BSintolerant · 12/03/2019 21:46

allow, not ali! Sausage fingers ...

Spongebobette · 12/03/2019 21:47

Awwwww yes, RIP Cam

cozietoesie · 12/03/2019 21:53

RIP Cam indeed. Sad

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 13/03/2019 08:19

We often touch upon how the children of bots must feel when they see the yoyo dieting , the quick fix weight loss products (which involve the weight going straight back on afterwards), the self-obsession, the constant selfies etc. What message does it give these children.

BBL posted something a couple of days ago about the dangers of having a negative body image and passing this on to your children....
that's from the woman who doesn't appear to have a natural, untouched element to her left and is constantly striving to change her body shape (with the help of surgery) and lose weight when she doesn't need to Hmm

fitgirl26 · 13/03/2019 10:06

BBL is hard to follow. The constant selfies, inflated lips, inflated arse, inflated use of consonants...

BSintolerant · 13/03/2019 12:15

... inflated ego?

Whiterangey · 13/03/2019 20:02

You need to be body positive for your children. No diet talk allowed in my home. My children know my weight is unhealthy and negative comments have been made about how my ribs are showing. They also know and see me eating my three meals a day and that eating enough and healthy is what I'm concentrating on rather than my body. This should be the same if someone wants to lose weight.

Not continuous bullshit about the latest fad diets and showing off your weight loss all over Facebook , weight which they will put back on. Look at Yawn. I do wonder if she is jealous of her daughter because of how her daughter looks. It does make me happy to see her daughter is a healthy weight, she is at a very dangerous age though where her body is changing and her body will get bigger in places. With such a body obsessed mother that is worrying.

BBL looked better before the thousands spent on surgery, much better. I've got nothing against plastic surgery but there is too much of a good thing. We're aren't talking a bit of botox and a boob job here.

JasperRising · 13/03/2019 20:43

On the body image front, Castle bff has a doozy of a post. All about being kind to yourself after pregnancy and not feel pressured to bounce back to pre pregnancy weight straight away. Illustrated with a photo of her looking skinnier than most women ever will (all down to meal planning an supplements of course nothing to do with natural build, genes, and lots of exercise plus meal planning. I suspect the FL supplements have nothing to do with it).
