The continuing crusade to expose the underhand tactics used to lure (mainly) women into exploitative schemes using the lure of 'financial independence'.

My own take on Life Coaching is that it's nothing more than a face saving exercise for a bot who simply cannot admit they have failed at their respective MLM.
Bots are encouraged to put it all out there on social media for everyone to see and there are undoubtedly some who simply can't bear the thought of admitting publicly that it's all over for them and this is the perfect get out.

suedoname · 11/03/2019 09:59

I have to disagree, I'm ex mlm and have come across lots of life coaches who have never touched mlm and also refuse to work with them.

There are plenty who do turn to coaching when their business fails because they see a chance to make money at ridiculous prices.

My friend discovered that a lot of them take unofficial £20 digital courses with no coursework or exams and consider themselves qualified at the end believing they can charge ££££ for their 'expertise'.

These digital courses are just videos that they watch and get a certificate auto emailed when the videos are completed.

Hi @suedoname

I perhaps should have made myself a little clearer having read back my previous post.

I know that there are genuine life coaches out there who do have morals and won't deal with the MLM industry but the amount of bots who move over to doing this after the inevitable MLM failure is becoming laughable.

Spongebobette · 11/03/2019 10:39

I love the way that bots boast about their payment notifications and share photos of them but never show the amount!!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 11/03/2019 12:06

@9dartfinish2nd - It's not just ex-bots who describe themselves as coaches- it's very common among practicing bots as well.

If you look at the profiles of most bots, they tend to describe themselves as some sort of tutor/mentor/coach, rather than 'MLM rep', which is what they are.

This is something they are taught/told to do, as it sounds much more exciting and likely to grab a hapless victim's attention. Thus, Castle, Bloodsucker and Uber describe themselves as 'Global business coaches', PhD bot is a 'Mindset transformation coach and business strategist', Homeschool bot is a 'Global empowerment coach', Castle's bestie is a 'Business coach and mentor', while Yawn is a surprisingly modestly-titled 'Personal coach'...

It's not limited to senior bots either. I have just come across one of my ex's business cards, on which she describes herself as a 'Lifestyle business coach'. It's all bollocks to obscure the fact that they are reps for a product-based pyramid scheme.

Don't forget 'Global Traveller'

Twentytwentyhindsight · 11/03/2019 12:43

'Goal crusher & sunset chaser'...

@JasperRising @BSintolerant

MLM is definitely not allowed in the GCC. I’m based in a Gulf country. The pushy bots who were desperately trying to recruit me didn’t give a toss about whether it was outlawed here or not, and kept trying to suggest ways to get around the fact that Nu Skin isn’t operational in my country of residence. They kept telling me that they could register me as a UK distributor using my UK address and then I could have the products shipped out here via DHL and declare them as ‘gifts’ for customs. They really couldn’t care less about the consequences; all they could see was pound signs in their eyes because of where I live.

9dartfinish2nd · 11/03/2019 14:17

Nu Skin Bots now declaring Peru open for business and the recruitment of distributors.

Hope it works out better than the last Brits who went out there to try and make a few quid. Wink

Hairyhat · 11/03/2019 17:03

Is "thrive" counted as this sort of thing? I'm sorry I don't understand all the jargon. A friend has started selling "Thrive" and I'm worried about her. She's pretty vulnerable right now

Spongebobette · 11/03/2019 17:30

Yes I am afraid that Thrive (Le Vel) is an MLM

She’ll be rinsed of money if she’s not careful

Bovneydazzlers · 11/03/2019 18:06

Welsh upline bot accounts out.

Company made a small profit in the year (£30k).
But cash gone down 75%. And other debtors (most likely guess is overdrawn directors account but I don't know) has doubled to £150k.

For small accounts you don't get much detail (is it £30k profit after a £100k salary or £0k?) but the cash reduction would worry me as a business for future planning.

JasperRising · 11/03/2019 18:23

So how is FL operating in Saudi Arabia if MLMs aren't allowed? They are pretty open about so can't be hiding it all behind UK addresses surely.

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 18:33

When you are sat over the room from Yawn in Yo Sushi now 😂

I can't look anywhere

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 18:43

Luckily it was fairly busy
I felt like going over and selling her a C9

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 11/03/2019 19:06
Grin

I'm often in her nearest city too Paddy but am yet to bump into her.

I'd have been glued to watching her and her family in that situation.

Was she scanning the room for potential victims or trying to recruit the staff?

Whiterangey · 11/03/2019 19:56

What was her behaviour like? I always get the impression she tries too hard and tries to come across as something she isn't and often makes a fool of herself.

Did she look a mess? Are the C9's working?

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 20:14

No just eating a lot of sushi - let's just say the sumo dishes were delivered to there table.

I sound really horrible but the C9's are not working at all. She is a lot bigger in the flesh than I expected from the photos.

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 20:15

I can't really say anymore as if she reads this - I will absolutely blow my cover
It was busy but at 6.30 on a Monday night it wasn't packed by any stretch of the imagination

Paddy1234 · 11/03/2019 20:16

The C9 isn't working - she's fairly near her biggest.

Hairyhat · 11/03/2019 20:27

Thanks @Spongebobette

Spongebobette · 11/03/2019 20:47

C9s DO NOT WORK
End of story

spanfan · 11/03/2019 21:37

Salon has recently posted how it's wonderful being right with her children all the time...

... Presumably trips to the Carribbean with only one of your children don't count then??? 😂😂😂😂😂
