Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

Just applied for Lion Bridge and Leap Force! On the off chance I pass the exams for either one..!

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 11:32

Tell me about uTest?? Smile

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 11:45

I've been watching this thread with interest. @otterses I've been on the leapforce website but it makes no sense to me at all. I've clicked on something that says search engine evaluator but I'm not actually sure what that is. Is that what you do? Is that what I need to sign up for?

JcHcks · 14/01/2019 13:09

How long did it take for you to find out if your application was successful on Leapforce?

Mummabear2212 · 14/01/2019 13:19

I've signed up to UTest and have an invite for a cycle, but NO idea what I've agreed to! Confused

Mummabear2212 · 14/01/2019 13:21

I've just taken the time to read it properly and realised its a 'training' case. I think its beyond my scope in terms of ability! And seems like alot of work.

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 13:26

I'm the same with uTest I have no idea and the tutorials look really difficult I think you need a more than basic knowledge of computing. Sadly I don't have it.

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 13:27

Has anyone had any prolific surveys I have been checking since Friday and not had any??

thenightsky · 14/01/2019 13:29

CourageCalls Prolific haven't been very prolific since Friday night/Saturday morning for me.

Mummabear2212 · 14/01/2019 13:31

I think Prolific just depends on if/when someone wants some research. It's a bit 'pot luck'. Tends not to be at a weekend (though I had 2 Sunday, but very rare)

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 13:32

Ok guess my first day (over £8) was a one off. I had hoped it would be £10 a week.

tentative3 · 14/01/2019 13:41

@hiptobeasquare is VYPR worth doing?

CarolSpatula · 14/01/2019 13:50

I just signed up for Leapforce but just submitted a form, including CV. There was no test, is that still to come?

margaritasbythesea · 14/01/2019 13:53

Otterses Shock it is a bit!

I've just received the invite to their training and I am none the wiser. At the end, it says you have to complete it within the specified time, but I can't see what that is. I imagine it is a 'cycle', but I haven't yet found out how long that is.

I haven't got time to do it now though, so if it expires, it expires.

I listed 7 things on ebay. They have become a lot less flexible recently. I prefer to sell wit the Buy it Now option, and I used to get a certain amount of these free per month. Not any more, it seems.

Otterses · 14/01/2019 13:53

I'll try to post a bit of a LF guide later when I get in Smile

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 14:48

What do you have to do Spock?? On what users do

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 14/01/2019 14:48

And a link for Qmee which is a survey site
qm.ee/28838AAC

I also love User Testing but no referral program sadly :-(

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 14/01/2019 14:50

For W U D and User Testing you test websites. You need to install screen capture software and talk out loud while you complete tasks on the website. I love it and average £100 a month between the two while DC are at school around other commitments.

CourageCalls · 14/01/2019 14:51

Do you have to have broad computer knowledge as I looked at uTest which I think is similar and it was so complicated
Thanks

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 14/01/2019 14:53

No, they just want normal people. Intellizoom is a good one too. I have tried lots but they are my top 3. Work is fairly sporadic but i normally do one 20 min test a day which is £5 or $10 depending on company.

Otterses · 14/01/2019 15:26

DH has thrown yet another spanner in the works.

He's been promoted, which is fantastic, but it means another posting somewhere else in the country. He's coming home so we can discuss options tonight.

It's a pain in the arse, because it's not expected, and means I have to spend months again trying to find a new job, sort DS's nursery, and I guess use my extra earnings to supplement this period.

It's also a total ball ache as I'm not sure the role I'm going to be moving into in March is something I can pick up easily in another area, or if they'll have different requirements.

Sigh... I'm going to need to seriously up my earning extra game. Bloody hope LB get back to me giving me the thumbs up to work for them!

@tentative3 It’s a slow one, but really easy. You just give tick box opinions on products/shops etc. Its worth it to get a few extra pounds for not much effort. :)
