Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

@Mummabear2212 I think we're probably okay! I feel confident ish - @Sajack87 have you heard anything yet?

@Otterses I still haven't knuckled down to the matched betting! I'm being really bad actually, I have a ton of work to do for my main job and am not doing that, and I'm also not doing anything productive for these sidelines!

I did sign up to OhMyDosh but I dunno, is it worth it? I had a quick look around and wasn't taken by much really. I looked at some of the gambling offers but wasn't sure for some reason. Everyone seems to be doing OK on it though.

I've had a couple of surveys on Prolific today which I'm glad about because I was getting a bit suspicious over the weekend - a couple of times surveys appeared but I kept getting an error message when I tried to sign up to them. Today's have been pretty low paying but easy enough. I'm still waiting for the first survey I did when I signed up to be verified.

misstiggiwinkle · 21/01/2019 14:39

Afternoon all, I've had a busy weekend but made c. £200 on eBay so pretty pleased. Just got to post it all now!

I've also done the share signup, here is my link if anyone wants it?

Create a Trading 212 Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/ref/3ih19HCC_ and we both get a free share!

Had absolutely nothing on Prolific for days. Very frustrating. Also had nothing from Appen. Really wish I could do something!

Going to focus on some MB. Really pleased as DH and I have made c£600 from it in the last 10 days. Really hope we can keep it up

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 21/01/2019 14:53

I've used your referral link for trading 212 misstiggiwinkle.

BelladonnaKebab · 21/01/2019 15:55

Hi I've been lurking and hope it's ok to join in late! I do a little bit of MB but I'm still a bit scared to go for the bigger stakes stuff I see on forums and groups!

For those that have mentioned DVDs, if you get the music magpie app it has a barcode scanner so you can just scan each one in seconds and throw them in a box ready to go!

Really interested in the stocks thing if it works out for people! Good luck everyone, you've really inspired me!

stiltonontoast · 21/01/2019 16:13

@Otterses Can I join?

I already do Prolific, the first day I signed up I made £20, its been dead ever since with only dribs and drabs, but today mine perked up again and I've made another £10.

I signed up to Appen a few weeks ago, now through to the stage where you 'qualify' for things and have applied to 5 jobs. Do you know how long it takes to hear?

Otterses · 21/01/2019 16:36

Welcome @BelladonnaKebab and @stiltonontoast

That's a fantastic amount with Profilic stiltontoast! Appen and Leapforce (looking back through my emails) took about two months to put me on any projects, so don't get disheartened. LionBridge is also worth applying for and I'm sure @SplitEndsBushyEyebrows will give you some exam pointers Wink!

Bella I completely get the worrying about high stakes offers, even when you've checked a thousand times and you know it's going to be fine Blush I think there's no harm in sticking with the smaller offers and reloads. I'm going to be brave and attempt the £50 sportspeas offer on Friday. I really don't think it's called sportspeas but you probably know the one I mean.

Some MB to go this evening, and I'm going to start a pre-move clear out. And I'm FINALLY going to try to see if I can claim a uniform tax rebate. I did it once when I was 18 and I'm not sure if it does it automatically? So I'm going to check that out.

I've also had a thought about earning a bit extra by taking on some agency work in an area I have volunteering experience in. But I'm not sure I'm confident enough Blush and it feels a bit selfish so something I'd usually do for free for personal gain.

Just thought I’d add something if it’ll help anyone..

If anyones due or looking to change their broadband, BT seem to have a good offer on £90 or £110 prepaid card with certain deals. Plusnet also has a similar offer (a bit less though). My contract ends next month so fingers crossed the offers are still on then!

I’ve downloaded swagbucks too, plenty of easy ways to earn the odd point.

My streak with ohmydosh is over I think. The last few survey offers I’ve done haven’t registered, but the survey websites aren’t sending confirmation emails or showing my history etc so I can’t get me pennies ☹️ I’ve done about 5 that this has happened with.

GruffalosOldTrousers · 21/01/2019 18:03

Has anyone had the survey from Appen offering $5 for competing. It says they need access to your Facebook account which I don't really want to do. Those who have done other work for Appen, is access to your Facebook account always required?
If so, can you set up an extra account or does it need to be a 'real' or account?
Thanks :)

AMomHasNoName · 21/01/2019 18:06

Hey everyone . Still nothing from prolific. Oh my dosh hasn't been as good for me either. I cashed in my loose change at the weekend and had 17 pound . I've been inspired by the posts about MB so i finally gave it a try . I still find it Confused but i have made 13 pound today following one of the tutorials online so fingers crossed I get the hang of it. :)

Otterses · 21/01/2019 18:14

@GruffalosOldTrousers I allow Leapforce access to my Facebook page - this is so they could add me to the ads rating tool which I use to work for them. Nothing is ever posted on there.

No idea why Appen want to see your page just for a survey Confused

If you were to set up an account with LF/Appen for social media based work, they look for you to have over 50 friends and the account be over 6 months old. Not sure if would count against you.

@AMomHasNoName well done! Just take it slow Smile and has the MB mumsnet thread - it's really helpful and useful.

Thank you . I'll go have a look at that thread now.

ChakiraChakra · 21/01/2019 18:32

£4.32 on free casino spins from betfair tonight :)

Otterses · 21/01/2019 19:44

£10.61 LF and £5 cash back on a bingo site. Had to deposit £10 to get £40 worth of bingo and £15 CB. Worse case scenario I'm £5 up, though I sensibly used my bonuses to lots of games with big jackpots throughout the week - you never know!

OP posts:
GruffalosOldTrousers · 21/01/2019 19:55

@Otterses I thought that might be the case re setting up a new page. I'm just a bit funny about privacy on fb. Will have a think.
Thanks :)

In other news - there is no other news. Not had a prolific survey for a week now!

mamaslave18 · 21/01/2019 20:03

I signed up to prolific and started the Brecit survey. The bloody mobile site crashed and now it won’t let me go back and complete my submission 😫

sheerjewl · 21/01/2019 20:04

@misstiggiwinkle how have you managed to make £600 on MB?
Is that putting on quite a lot of bets?

misstiggiwinkle · 21/01/2019 22:20

@sheerjewl it's c. £300 each for me and my DH. We've been caught out a couple of times as lots of sign ups won't let you do more than 1 per household but seem to be getting around it by using different IP addresses.

We have been putting a couple of hrs in each night and doing lots of bets. I'm now really on the lookout for the big winners. The little £3 wins are nice but the £35 ones are better! Does involve holding lots in the exchange though. I've got about £3k I'm there at the moment. Got a big moving bill coming up out of the blue so trying to cover it!

Starting to run out of sign up offers though so need to move on

Hmmm ... looks like we're not the only ones who haven't had our free shares!

OP posts:
Fiddie · 22/01/2019 08:24

@misstiggiwinkle you need to be really careful having two accounts as you'll both get banned.

Fiddie · 22/01/2019 08:26

@Otterses I would be wary of sending and ID over to them if they already have your NI number and address etc.

Otterses · 22/01/2019 08:32

@Fiddie I'm certainly not sending my ID over (hasn't been requested yet).

Ah well! I may contact customer services today, if I hear nothing back by tomorrow I think we can assume it may be a scam and may be best to get the links with the referrals on here removed.

Hmm I'm in the same boat with trading 212. Heck.
