Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned I just did a couple of surveys on mysurvey.com. I’ve got 75points and some prize draw entries. Not sure if it’s any good but I seem to be getting survey after survey so far. Looked at redeeming points and I think 1 point is a penny and you just redeem it online through them on different offers (I only joined it because of ohmydosh)

I really need to make a start on dinner...

Otterses · 18/01/2019 16:54

Ohhh @boringlyboring I FEEL the pain of sorting DVD's. It'll be worth it though, less clutter and more cash.

Ohmydosh is seriously good at tracking cashback, so you shouldn't have any problems. Just remember to cancel anything you take out a trial for.

How you getting on with matched betting @tentative3 ?

I've had 2 surveys on PA tonight, but they've both been duds when I've clicked on them. I'm sure they don't want me to get to the £5 cash in level.

sheerjewl · 18/01/2019 21:25

I've been watching this thread for a while and you've all inspired me to make some bits of money by doing some little things.

Tonight I signed up to betfair through Quidco - £20 cashback for £10 bet. This was with the view of looking into matched betting. I ended up playing roulette but I am £10 up and stopping there. So with the cashback and the £10 wins I have made £20 in 30/40 mins.

@Otterses Do you use odds checker for your matched betting?

I've also submitted my video to whatusersdo and signed up to profilic.

Thanks guys

SplitEndsBushyEyebrows · 18/01/2019 22:22

I completed part one of the LionBridge exam tonight, took me about 90 minutes Blush not sure I’ll pass! Mind numbing stuff, although I’m feeling pleased with myself that I’ve learnt some new things as it’s not something I would ever usually chose to read about!

Another good day here. 13 on oh my dosh again. Things have been very quiet for me on Prolific though. I've made roughly 55 pound since Monday. Although 3.80 of that is on prolific so I'm unable to get that out yet :)

margaritasbythesea · 18/01/2019 23:31

SplitEndsBushyEyebrows - may I ask what sort of thing did you have to do?

Otterses · 19/01/2019 07:22

Fingers crossed for you @SplitEndsBushyEyebrows ! I think the trick seems to be taking your time let us know how you get on.

@sheerjewl well done on the win, and quitting while you're ahead I use profit accumulator for matched betting, so I use the odds matcher to find my bet, then the calculator to check the lay/how much I'll make.

Hello @leamaria ! That's a great first days earnings. I wouldn't worry about OMD, I've never had any issues with them, and haven't heard of anyone having cash out problems with them.

@AMomHasNoName £55 is fantastic!

I'm off to work on this cold and wet day Grin so have an excellent money making day everyone! I'm looking forward to catching up this evening.

Well I haven't started matched betting but have been reading all about it and getting ready. Yesterday however I did some sign ups to some free and low cost things on quidco and should if all goes to plan net £45 profit. Earned £59.50 cashback (outlay £5, plus a £5 it looked like I needed to deposit to withdraw a £1000 win from free spins, but turns out dunno what happened scam that I eventually managed to cash out £2.58 of, so on fucking principal mitigated the loss slightly. Decided it was worth a fiver for the benefits of premium quidco, so hope to withdraw at 1.5 times value onto a gift card I'd use anyway but not accounted for that just yet.

Feeling a bit burnt fingers by the free spins feeling like a pointless exercise, but I know some people on mn do it and profit. Anybody willing to tell me how?

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 19/01/2019 09:14

I just made $1.88 on Shutterstock after someone downloaded a photo! I know it's tiny (I made more through the survey I did on Prolific Academic this morning) but it's oddly satisfying to have someone want to pay for something I made.

Cantbearsed73 · 19/01/2019 09:15

Been watching this thread for a while . You are all amazing . I have signed up to prolific but only a few pence earned so far. MB scares me so it’s surveys and eBay for me.

@WarmHugs can you send me a pm re mystery shopper x

Otterses · 19/01/2019 16:33

@CaitlinsYellowSocks well done on your first photo sale!

@ChakiraChakra ugh. I never really bother with free spins to be honest, the wagering requirements are often ridiculous. I've seen some amazing wins though, so it may be worth doing more research.

@stopitandtidyupp Are you getting anywhere with online tutoring? I found a website that looks alright for a bit extra pay is shocking for a teacher but may be worth checking out?

Claimed £50 today from YouGov for completing surveys. Although I've been doing it for almost a year so it takes a while to actually build up money.

sheerjewl · 19/01/2019 21:35

I've just had my first go at matched betting using this step by step guide and should get £14 profit tomorrow ... if I've done it right!

GruffalosOldTrousers · 19/01/2019 22:01

Just catching up. I've been ill so not managed much and feeling a little disillusioned.
I've still had nothing else from prolific. I joined panel base but don't recommend it. Of 3 surveys, one couldn't be opened on a tablet, one wouldn't load and one said I wasn't eligible.

No response from Appen, but I've started an application to lionbridge too.

Sorry, I'm not very positive this evening. In a week I've only managed £8 from prolific and £6 from ohmydosh. Do, I need to get my act together!!

Has anyone ever done any work from peopleperhour? I was wondering about trying that. Going to do some research....
And must get my head round matched betting...

@GruffalosOldTrousers I think we'll all hit the disillusioned point sometime this year. But for what it's worth I think you can totally smash this Smile

LB is a really good idea - they seem to get back to you within 48 hours.

If not too outing, what kind of background do you have? People per hour has been good for me in the past for data entry and research jobs.

Otterses · 20/01/2019 07:43

@Sajack87 hmmmmm ... this sounds a bit too good to be true Grin

I'm going to have a good look at this! I presume you can just keep the share and sell it at some point when it (if it) gains decent value?

OP posts:
Fiddie · 20/01/2019 07:52

@Sajack87 the apps asking for quite slot of info.

National insurance number etc, and bank account details. I'm not sure about that?

Otterses · 20/01/2019 08:04

@Fiddie I've had a look on MSE, they do seem to be reputable and legitimate. But I get what you're saying.

What MB forum did you read about this on @Sajack87 ? I'd love to have a read Smile

I'm also clueless about these things, but what's to stop you basically doing this repeatedly?

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 20/01/2019 08:07

Gruffalo- I registered in Sept on both PPH and Fiverr. I have a degree in languages so put translating/transcribing/ etc. Not heard anything. I think maybe I'm in a field where a lot of people offer the same thing. No harm in trying though. I keep meaning to go back and trawl through the other things people offer and see if there's anything else.

I was sent a project by Appen but (I'd put my languages down as things I can do) but it was very technical German and that is my A level 30 yrs ago language so I turned it down.

I'm plodding through the survey sites but Sheesh I hate cars after that!

Don't know where I'm going wrong with oh my gosh but every click through takes me to error/page not found/the 404 screen of death. One month trial thing for pay 99p recoup £4.50 let me through but then PayPal wouldn't pay the 99p (cue panic that my bank had been hacked-it hadn't,)

I have a list of decent online tutoring sites esp for English conversation. I'll dig it out later and post it.

You lot are truly inspirational and really persuading me to not sit during my free hours at work (am language asst with 20 contact hours but am there for about 28 all told) to DO things instead of scrolling up and down FB!

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 20/01/2019 08:09

I haven't dared dip into Italian MB yet other than try and sign up for Italian Betfair which wouldn't let me!!! I think it couldn't cope with Italian fiscal code (which we all have to have, sort of NI but different) plus place of birth incongruence. Hmmm.

margaritasbythesea · 20/01/2019 08:47

BookMeOnTheSudExpress - I would be really interested in that list. I'm going to post my ad on some Spanish sites this week for conversation classes, but all the tutoring sites here seem to take a big percentage for not doing a great deal.
