Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

Ok think I'm signed up, or at least I've done the application via Appen. Hope it works! I've easily got an hour a day whilst my youngest naps to dedicate to this

misstiggiwinkle · 17/01/2019 11:14

How long does it take to be approved?

Got stung on a couple of MB sites as both DH and I are doing it together. Turns out lots of offered only apply to one application per house hold

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 17/01/2019 11:22

I've just downloaded a load of apps for quick photo/market research/mystery shop type tasks onto my phone -

  • BeMyEye - quite a few jobs within walking distance of where I was, paying £3.50-£4. Haven't done them because the only one I was eligible for was a vape shop and I don't know anything about vaping.

  • Job Spotter - take pictures of job ads in shop/restaurant etc windows and upload them. I've taken about five while walking along the high street and made a grand total of 43p in Amazon vouchers! But it is quick and will add up (very slowly).

  • Field Agent - no jobs currently

Streetspotr - no jobs currently

Clic and walk - no jobs currently

Roamler - they didn't need anyone in my area so I have deleted it

From @Otterses summary it looks like the matched betting and LF type work is definitely the best paid but there are lots of other ways to make little bits of money here and there.

Have been approved as an Alamy contributor and also had a few more photos accepted by Shutterstock - no sales though, I think I'd need hundreds if not thousands of pics to earn even a tiny amount there

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 17/01/2019 11:23

Sorry about random holding, was trying to do bullet points

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 17/01/2019 11:24

bolding!

Otterses · 17/01/2019 11:26

There's a £30 market research (from home) project about fitness and exercise on Angelfish if anyone's interested. I didn't qualify - but may be useful for someone

@CaitlinsYellowSocks I'll be checking all of those out!

I think MB and LF can't be the only big money makers out there though, and time wise it looks like the rough hourly rate of those tasks would be a lot better than LF.

Are any of these easy to do on your phone?
I do a lot of nightshifts and for the majority of the night, we’re sitting around with nothing to do - it’s a type of call centre and all the work is done at point of call. It was great when I was studying but I’ve finished my course now and I get very bored and I could do with earning some extra pennies!

misstiggiwinkle · 17/01/2019 11:49

@Otterses I've just signed up to Angelfish - did you get emailed the market research? I can't find it on the site

misstiggiwinkle · 17/01/2019 11:50

@Foreverlexicon you can do prolific on your phone very easily

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 17/01/2019 12:50

I've done 8 tests for What Users Do over the last 7 days. Never know it this busy! A nice £40.

CarolSpatula · 17/01/2019 13:37

@otterses what do you mean you have to sign up to global appen too? To get more jobs?

Otterses · 17/01/2019 13:45

@CarolSpatula you can sign up for both Leapforce and Appen global Smile they don't get all arsey like LionBridge about you applying for both.

CarolSpatula · 17/01/2019 13:47

Ahh I see. Good tip!

Mummabear2212 · 17/01/2019 13:53

Brilliant @Otterses, great amount earnt in 16 days

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 17/01/2019 14:41

Submitted my application to Appen. I put no to making phone calls (severe anxiety about it) so hope they don't hold that against me!

Otterses · 17/01/2019 15:14

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I've put no phone calls too Smile I'm sure it won't be held against us.

I tried Gumtree today.

This is exactly why I don't do Gumtree. I attract odd folk on there.

I've had nothing from prolific since early yesterday. :(

I've made £6 on ohmydosh but I'm really uncomfortable with signing up for lots of random things.

I'm inspired by your income @Otterses though so onward and upward...

Otterses · 17/01/2019 16:03

@GruffalosOldTrousers I'd really recommend a separate email for things like ohmydosh. If it's not something you're comfortable with though, don't do it! There's tons of other opportunities out there Smile

Right! So about this Nielsen thing.

computermobilepanel.nielsen.com/cmp/landingeng.jsp

Have a read, and see what you think. I'm going to add my laptop for an extra 300 points a month. A £20 amazon card is 2000 points, so it's £80 a year for basically doing nothing. Really reputable company too, so I don't feel too bothered about them studying what I look at on my device.

It's NOT for you if you are not comfortable with a company looking at your viewing habits.

GruffalosOldTrousers · 17/01/2019 17:20

@Otterses maybe you could capitalise on your gumtree wierdo - tell them it'll be perfect and then increase the price ;)

I've just signed up with Appen.

GruffalosOldTrousers · 17/01/2019 17:21

I also put no phone calls on Appen @SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock and no to upsetting content (a little worrying?)

Otterses · 17/01/2019 17:23

@GruffalosOldTrousers I'm more concerned about them coming to the house 😂 maybe I should get DH to introduce himself as me and hand over the dress...

£14.95 MB and the usual £10.61 from LF today. Going to try and do another offer this evening.

UTest intimidated the hell out of me! It looks rather erm, heavy going.

OP posts:
Mummabear2212 · 17/01/2019 18:41

@Otterses Grin Your gumtree wierdo is exactly what scares me about it.

Mummabear2212 · 17/01/2019 18:41

Not so productive today here, I've got a rotten cold and DS had his 1 yr jabs today so no money made

Otterses · 17/01/2019 18:44

Snap @Mummabear2212 ! How's your LO doing? DS has been inconsolable Hmm ... until he thinks I'm not looking at him. Then he sits and giggles.
