Anyone up for an earn £10 a day challenge this year?

Otterses · 02/01/2019 08:06

I was wondering if anyone would like to join me Smile truth be told I really need the support!

Having DS has reduced my savings, and ability to save now that I'm paying for childcare. So my aim this year is to make £3650, or £10 a day which sounds far less terrifying.

I just thought this would be a great idea to share ideas for earning extra money and cheering each other on. Way better than just staring at a spreadsheet.

Soooooo here it goes.

Day One - £33.37/3650

£22.87 matched betting, and £10.61 Leapforce.

One crashed as I was submitting it. Very annoying. There´s no record that I did it.

swirlette · 16/01/2019 14:04

Thank you all so much for the info on this thread, I've made £25 on Prolific this morning :)

Rejected from Lionbridge (background in digital marketing so I'm not sure if I knew too much...) and waiting to see if Leapforce say the same.

I've also cashed out £25 of my Topcashback earnings today, so doing ok so far. I've done MB before so don't think I'll be allowed back on the startup deals there!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 16/01/2019 14:26

Prolific is 0 for me today. But i have made £5 on What Users Do, $10 on User Testing and $10 on Intellizoom. So not bad!

SushiMonster · 16/01/2019 15:02

@swirlette loads of reload deals on MB at the moment for the tennis - get one it!

Mummabear2212 · 16/01/2019 15:03

Had an email from Leapforce asking me to sign documents and qualify for my first survey, so thats positive. @Otterses, what do I do about paying tax etc?

No joy with prolific today and had an invite for What Users Do survey but at work so not able to do it today. @SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock Do they just email you with projects or do you sign in and see whats available?

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 16/01/2019 15:05

What Users Do and Intellizoom email you every time. User Testing you have to be logged in. Made another $10 on User testing, they are my favourite.

Botanica · 16/01/2019 15:40

Loving Prolific! Have done twelve today already, including watching TED talks (which I love anyway) and giving my feedback on what I learnt. It's fascinating to see what comes up.

MadeForThis · 16/01/2019 16:31

Hi. Newbie too. Loving all the tips. I registered for the survey ones.

Anyone heard of vindale research?

Otterses · 16/01/2019 16:32

I can't believe how well you're all doing! Welcome to all the newcomers

@Aimarge I was exactly the same! The best advice I can give you, is sign up for profit accumulator, do the first offer and see how you feel. The first PA offer is free! And if you go to Quidco, and do the £20 cashback on betfair, and the £20 cash back on ohmydosh, you won't lose money - you'll make £20 in cash back (deposit £10 with each bookie to qualify).

@svengoren10 I've not had that issue, but the site really isn't mobile friendly at all. I tend to do it off the desktop.

@GruffalosOldTrousers Oh! I'd love to hear how you get on with purple CV.

@Fiddie There's only one project on Leapforce that wants access to a gmail account just don't apply to that one and you're good.

Leapforce projects vary. Personally, I rate ads for Facebook. It's an absolute doddle. If you sign up, just wait and see if a project catches your interest.

@swirlette Grin ANOTHER REJECTEE! We should form a club.

It'll be £0.00 from me today. Currently busing it to a homeless shelter where I can make a clumsy nuisance of myself.

Has anyone done the UTest academy yet? I'm planning on checking it out in the morning when DS is at nursery.

Jealous of Botánica watching Ted talks!

I have had two today asking me questions about probability, which I didn't understand when I did it at school a long time ago.

I signed up for LF and they said they would send me an email saying how to activate my account but they did not. Did anyone else have this problem?

Anyway, my first day of making money 18.15 between prolific and ebay.

JcHcks · 16/01/2019 18:59

@Botanica do you just leave the webpage up on your computer/tablet to get as many as 12? I've been jumping on and off all day and I've only had 1

Botanica · 16/01/2019 19:05

@JcHcks I leave it open on my phone and just have a look every now and then if I'm free and see what's there. Mostly there have been two or three showing at a time although sometimes none.
I go for the one with the least places left first in the hope that the other may still be available when I'm done.
Have completed twelve, phone crashed on two and missed about three, so sounds like today was a good day (first day).

I'm guessing what gets shown is dependent on your demographic information. I have filled everything out to maximise the chances of being in the target audience.

TED was the favourite/most interesting today. The easiest was deciding if a statement was strong or weak, and the oddest/hardest was coming up with suggestions on how two companies should make the most of a merger/strategic alliance. I did wonder whether maybe some MBA student was paying for ideas for his next assignment...

I'm loving it!

JcHcks · 16/01/2019 19:11

Botanical you've done really well. My about me must have rubbish answers lol have yours had the reviews done yet? I done one this morning and it still says awaiting review. Also what's the highest amount of money on one study you got? Sorry to ask loads questions Smile

CarolSpatula · 16/01/2019 20:06

@otterses & @swirlette I got rejected too 😂 Also have a digital marketing background but thought that would be a good thing.

Anyway, got accepted to Leapforce! I’m a bit nervous about having to commit an hour five days a week though. I like the surveys and matched betting because you’re not tied and it feels less like ‘work’.

Made about £20 on ohmydosh, only £2 on prolific so far

Otterses · 16/01/2019 20:27

I'll be really interested to see if anyone does get into LionBridge then @CarolSpatula! They sound like a load of bloody fuss pots.

Glad you got accepted into LF Smile have any projects appeared for you to apply for yet? May not be an hour a day! If that's too much keep an eye out for other ones. I do Nile though, and honestly, it stops feeling like work quite quickly. It's easy to dip in and out of and spread throughout the day.

I really want to go home and do SOMETHING money wise, but I just feel exhausted. But too exhausted to concentrate on matched betting anyway.

Mummabear2212 · 16/01/2019 20:36

Have been accepted into LF, just applied to the first project. Just a bit concerned how it works re tax?

CarolSpatula · 16/01/2019 20:39

@otterses there is a list of projects and they have a ‘qualify’ button, does that mean I can apply? Nile is up there. There’s also an ‘average task volume’ column which states ‘above average’ or ‘below average’ for each project. Not sure what that actually means though because they all say an hour a day for five days Confused

What about a couple of surveys if you’re tired, maybe through ohmydosh so you get the extra cash?

I’m not really enjoying the matched betting, taking it very slow. I just don’t like football or horse racing and don’t like affiliating with them 😂

Otterses · 16/01/2019 20:53

@CarolSpatula yes Smile qualify means you can apply! I promise you, Nile is easy, and isn't too taxing. And there is no exam.

Otterses · 16/01/2019 20:55

Oh Blush and I accidentally made some money.

I forgot I signed up for Neilson noble research last year. I got email saying I'd got 900 points last quarter ... so I signed in to see what it's about!

I had enough points for a £20 amazon card Shock

OP posts:
Otterses · 17/01/2019 08:17

...Drumroll...

Halfway through January my totals are;

£151.59 - Matched Betting
£137.93 - Leapforce
£50 - Cashback
£6.87 - Profilic Academic
£31 - other (Zeek and Nielson)

So that's £377.39/£3650 Grin in 16 days!

CarolSpatula · 17/01/2019 08:48

Wow well done!

Otterses · 17/01/2019 10:40

Thank you @CarolSpatula Grin

I'm so thick. YOU ALL NEED TO APPLY TO APPEN GLOBAL AS WELL (which I have never done despite repeatedly reading it on the LF forums).

misstiggiwinkle · 17/01/2019 10:40

My MB is going well, yet to tally but think it's going to be in the region of £300 in a week which is amazing.

Prolific is not being good to me only £3.20 since Friday, just no surveys to do.

Can someone tell me about Signing up to Leapforce? Really keen to do it but just get Appen when I search for it?

misstiggiwinkle · 17/01/2019 10:43

I have also just rented out a parking space on my drive -£12 today!

Otterses · 17/01/2019 10:45

That's fantasic @misstiggiwinkle Grin well done!

Leapforce and Appen are owned by the same company. Appen should take you to this;
