MLM Bot Watch 40 - Forever Living is 40! Yet still 99% of people in all MLM's lose money

Whiterangey · 29/05/2018 12:27

Not making money with Forever Living?

Not making money with any MLM?

How to make money with Forever Living?
How to make money with MLM?

Maybe this report done for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by Jon M. Taylor, MBA, Ph.D., of the Consumer Awareness Institute may have the reason why.

www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/documents/public_comments/trade-regulation-rule-disclosure-requirements-and-prohibitions-concerning-business-opportunities-ftc.r511993-00008%C2%A0/00008-57281.pdf

When someone urges you to join an MLM in their downline with tales of the riches you can earn, all they are trying to do is use you to earn themselves more money. They know the stats, they know you won't make money and you will lose money, and friends.

They will lovebomb you, be your best friend, be all over you and then drop you like a stone.

Look at the person who is your uplines facebook. See how the people who were tagged in her statuses a year ago the same way you are tagged now are doing. Are they still with the company? Many won't be. Those who are will still not be doing well, exactly the same as a year ago, or two years ago.

If you are in Forever living, check facebook for the global rally cheques of your upline, notice how they have been going down year on year? The market reached saturation point in 2015, it's downhill since then and things will get worse, not better.

Most MLM's in the UK are at the same point, we are not a huge country and MLM's have reached saturation point.

Yep, it’s quite an amazing isn’t it? I was absolutely sickened by it at the time for all the reasons you mention plus also giving herself visibility within the hospice community in order to sell gloop to people in a difficult situation. I tweeted about it in fury at the time but other anti mlmers didn’t seem as enraged as they often are so I’m guessing they didn’t do the maths you’ve just done!

Whatsaldigottodowithit · 24/06/2018 22:51

I find the hospice thing disgusting. The one I have seen is where people “donate” to “pamper packs” for patients and relatives. So they send money to the Forever Living person, who then takes products (probably out of their garage) and makes up bags to send to the hospice. Again, driving up product turnover for the bot.

GoldenKelpie · 25/06/2018 07:48

YouOKHun, it just proves the depths that someone will sink in order to satisfy her upline. I wonder if that bot is still enthralled with fl or has given up, how do you think she's feeling remembering that shameful memory.

Such a pity that the dieters didn't just say "I know, instead of giving you £100 each for this dubious crash diet rubbish , we will just use free on-line diet support, (lots about) support each other, and donate the whole £100 each to the hospice. Then you can still match our lb loss with your own donation" Grin.

So, the Inteletravel “money back guarantee” is a pile of shit. Who’dathunkit?

9dartfinish · 25/06/2018 16:05

The lack of activity on certain Nu Skin "Leaders" pages in the UK is becoming more and more obvious.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that some of them are struggling badly.

ArbunneHun · 25/06/2018 17:20

NuSkin is so outrageously overpriced - even more so than most of the others. The only way to make any money is to recruit and buy stock. You will struggle to sell anything outside of the pyramid.

ArbunneHun · 25/06/2018 17:40

@SSDGM - well knock me down with a feather! Thank goodness I didn’t spend £10k on the holiday of a lifetime booked via some random on Facebook who has become a ‘travel agent’ after paying a fee and completing a multi choice quiz online!

Whiterangey · 25/06/2018 19:25

I'm seeing a lack of activity with lots of MLM's at the moment. It's as if the whole industry has gone a bit quiet. I do wonder (hope) that maybe those who have been bitten before have stopped the jumping to another MLM, and people are finally getting the message.

The posts that @Sean1984 posted yesterday are a great example of what is going on. Anyone who saw that exchange on that group may think a bit more before becoming a bot, just because most people really would hate to have a reaction like that to a post. It may not deter those already botted, but all those replies, some sarcastic, some pointing out it's a scam, and one with strong adult words, is not something you want to see in reply to anything you post.

Posts, and replies like that are routinely happening now. We know that MLM's like Forever Living have reached saturation point and are on a rapid decline, others like Jamberry about to go down completely, but it does seem like in general MLM's have reached saturation point in the UK. Nobody wants to be THAT person.

I see things regularly shared on facebook that are anti-mlm and people are sick of it.

I think the slump in bitcoin is also driving a reduction in the crypto-ponzis that were prolific up until about April. Lots of people who were involved in them have quietly stopped talking about them. Apart from Wig & Sleaze, obviously, but they’re hardly the brightest buttons in the tin.

And Privilege Car Club was over before it really began.

Very unforgiving climate to be launching a brand new, unproven MLM (based around - let’s say - mint choc chip diet shakes). Particularly if you have no prior experience of running such a business.

Whiterangey · 25/06/2018 21:32

In this climate, especially with someone with no prior experience of running a business, I would say that an MLM based around mint choc chip shakes wouldn't last longer than a few months.

Obviously that would never happen because who would be stupid enough to do that? Unless they were like Jesus or something LOL.

Seriously, it's not going to work. Cash upfront will have been needed to make the initial order of stuff, the cost of which will be covered either now with the pre-launch, or after they go live. Then they will be able to gather enough funds to order more, which will again take months, the same if they want to add to the TS Shite line.

I'm guessing mint choc chip was likely the cheapest one for them to get, likely on sale or something.

Exactly @ArbunneHun,

When their top Team Elite bot jumps ship to Doterra and $1m circle members allegedly not even qualifying for success trips anymore you would have to think that it's the beginning of the end for not only the likes of Nu Skin but pretty much every MLM company operating in the UK.

They have had their day in the sun and now too many have been burned and are no longer afraid to speak out about these companies.

The backlash has started and is gaining remarkable momentum.

sshuga · 26/06/2018 03:49

I hope that’s true, but not so sure. From where I sit here in the US, somehow, (wholesale regulatory capture?) “the industry” keeps on churning through new bots and prosperity gospel/law of attraction/mindset mumbo jumbo is fervently believed by an astounding number of people, such that it is practically taken for granted as true.

Whiterangey · 26/06/2018 03:59

Yawn saw the end of the second 6 week course with a garden party. What appears to be water in plastic cups, no food, no entertainer, just people on a lawn with plastic cups. What a fun party!

As someone said a few pages back, a lot of the people there have been in FLP a while. People are also strictly told there is to be no recording during the presentation.

Uber didn't go, she was at a breast cancer charity night.

Would love Wig to explain how despite Bitcoin decreasing she woke up $150 richer. Unless she is shorting Bitcoin it's not possible. Unless it's just made up numbers on her screen?Hmm

Lonelybutnice · 26/06/2018 08:18

My Facebook memories make me want to punch myself in the face. I'm deleting them as they come up but the whole 'fake it til you make it' thing - I can't believe how heavily I bought into it and what an out and out liar it made me. I'm so ashamed when I see it. I actually shared a post saying that my 'business' had allowed me to buy my son a season ticket for his favourite football team. That is utter bullshit. I can't believe I actually posted that and lied to my family and friends about it. I can't blame FLP or the top bots for that, that was me.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 26/06/2018 08:46

Lonelybutnice don't beat yourself up about it, it was FLP making you do that. I bet your upline was advising you to do the fake boast posts, I know others who have escaped have said they were told to do similar.

The important thing is you are out of it now. You are no longer losing money to it. Well done for that alone!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/06/2018 08:53

Don't be too hard on yourself @Lonelybutnice, you were a victim of a very clever con where you were conditioned to believe that whatever you did was in your, and you "why"'s best interests.

I have seen it at close quarters, and it could happen to any of us. Rather than kick yourself, you should be proud that you've seen through the lies and have come out the other side, stronger and wiser.

I really wish there was someone like you to talk to my OH. Too late to save the relationship, but she needs to wake up to it to move on.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 26/06/2018 09:07

Whoop whoop Yawn has qualified for Stockholm. Wonder if it's for another invisible cheque?

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 26/06/2018 09:16

A couple of months ago Yawn made a big meal out of asking for recommendations for a summer holiday for the kids. It's all gone very quiet now. I wonder if they will get away or is mummy spending all her money on stock?
On another note, I saw one of her acolytes has the 'job title' of Senior Managing Director at International Business Coach. Right there is someone who wouldn't know a proper business if it smacked her in the face.

9dartfinish · 26/06/2018 09:35

@Lonelybutnice You were the victim of a horrible deception, which for those who go deep into this can ruin marriages/relationships, family relations, friendships and finances.
As Twenty states don't be too hard on yourself, you no doubt went into this with good intentions but quickly found yourself being immersed in the emotional manipulation of "Why" statements, Dream boards, Law of attraction mindset, gratitude etc..........and the lies start to become almost normal after a while.
There are a lot of people currently active in MLM companies who once the fog lifts are going to be dealing with the fallout of their behaviour towards "unsupportive & negative" family and friends for the rest of thier lives.

darceybussell · 26/06/2018 11:18

Not just any old managing director dickie, a SENIOR managing director.

RelativePitch · 26/06/2018 11:49

Long time lurker here as I watched one of my former colleagues get sucked into FLP a few years ago. We had a lot of arguments about it as she tried to recruit me. She was very low ranking in the Yawn Bestie downline, never made more than pin money if that . She's gone over to Inteletravel and taken a few low down FLP bots with her. Hasn't sold a single holiday yet, but has smashed through at least 3 promotions on recruitment alone.

Whiterangey · 26/06/2018 12:19

Yawn's year end is in 4 days. I'm not sure how it all works but is that when she would need to pay her tax bill or does it get paid as you go through the year?

She also will have needed to either pay back £188k that she took as a loan, or pay tax on it which would be about £60kish, that would have been end of March, My guess is she has likely done what she did last year and taken another hefty directors loan to avoid paying tax although she will still be liable for the tax on the 188k.

There were unsubstantiated rumours a couple of weeks ago about her having been refused a remortgage. Whether that is true or not I wouldn't be shocked if she has tried to remortgage her home.

Attraction marketing is important in MLM, show an enviable lifestyle, show what you've bought and where you've been. I scrolled through Yawn's timeline and the last photo of what she has spent to make the reader envious was when she was in Dallas and used the credit card they gave her.

I scrolled all the way through to the beginning of April and she has done nothing apart from work related stuff, no posh dinners, no going to nice places, nothing that requires spending money. The only money she appears to have spent is on work related stuff, going to the deep dark depths of Norfolk, or attending a FLP thing.

A couple of years ago it was full of attraction marketing, posh parties, travelling, expensive things bought.

There is almost none of that now, the atmosphere around their posts has changed, no excitement, just desperation.

Apparently even 3 weeks after a C9 you can still breathe in and suck your stomach in so much you almost turn yourself inside out.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/06/2018 13:28

@OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny - The effort involved may explain the rictus.
