MLM Bot Watch 36 - Those who think it's ok to tell white lies soon become colourblind

36 Lies to reel you in...

  1. They will tell you that you will have time freedom in this business. Two weeks later they will tell you the business won't work unless you do.

When it's a business event they will not accept excuses for you missing it and will set an example by missing their child's first birthday or telling you a story of how they once shit themselves in white trousers on the front row at success day because they were poorly but didn't want to miss it.... You will know quickly that the unspoken rules is 'no excuses on success day's.

WhiteRangey I think it was said on one of these threads recently that her husband has quietly gone back to work, working for her besties husband's business (which is also kept quietly in the background)

Spongebobette · 21/03/2018 08:16

And I think it’s hilarious that when someone has provided weeks of ‘training’ for FL they are thrilled to be given vouchers for a spa day as a thank you from such a wonderful and generous company! Being ‘showered in gifts’??? How about they actually PAY you for your time??

Spongebobette · 21/03/2018 08:59

@Norma I think 'touching your business' means posting comments on FB, making sure you 'like' anything your upline has posted and that you comment positively on anything anyone else in your upline and downline has posted, plus messaging random people to tell them about an amazing business opportunity!

in other words....not really a business....

Norma27 · 21/03/2018 11:36

I also think a reason that bot doesn’t retire just yet, apart from not being financially able to, is because she enjoys scamming others out of their money too much.
Love the fact she never mentions hubby is out at work again. Despite a few months ago stating he was setting up his own fl down line to rival hers. What happened to that I wonder.
Anyway, off to touch my bizniz as I have a pocket of time available.

Whiterangey · 21/03/2018 12:23

I looked into where he is working. It's a business set up by her BFF's husband. It's a start up and doesn't appear to have many, if any customers, so I cannot see how he is making any money.

I think they think because they are 'successful' in FL that they are really good at running a business so it should be easy to transfer those skills to a real business.

It is sickening how she is lying to her downline. Lying that she can retire when the reality is that she struggles to even take a day off for fear that her business will collapse. If she doesn't carry on recruiting then she will make no money.

Looking back a year and more at some of her downline bots who she was tagging in statuses as being brilliant and amazing have left. Even a certain bot who invited yawn to her wedding left the business and is now with another MLM, despite Yawn saying last year she was going to be the next big thing.

Her rentention of her downline is abysmal, as it is in all MLM's when people just can't afford it any more.

Spongebobette · 21/03/2018 13:00

absolutely, which is why the recruiting is just NON STOP!!
.
such rubbish, saying you are doing it to help people. Liar.

Norma27 · 21/03/2018 13:17

Absolutely total rubbish saying how much she loves helping others improve their lives. She must know how she destroys peoples’ lives.

One of Uber’s best mates (not fl tho) told me how even she believes it is all smoke and mirrors and luckily has refused to ever get involved. This friend has met yawn but I’ve not had chance to ask what she thought of her. Interestingly she is not a friend of hers on Facebook.

I’ve not seen Uber since before her fl days but used to be good friends with her. Don’t know what I would say if I bumped into her now. Altho I have thought about joining her down line as a spy!! When I can afford to throw £200 away maybe!!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 21/03/2018 13:28

the reality is that she struggles to even take a day off for fear that her business will collapse

So true. Last Thursday afternoon Yawnbot posted that she was going to give herself a couple of days off because she has created "the choice, flexibility and control" in her life to enable her to do that.

I say Bollocks to that.

A mere 24 hours later she's posting about the FL shampoo and conditioner (obviously there had been numerous other fb posts in the meantime about her animals etc just so that we didn't forget her existence) and then she's checking into a hotel that night ready for the Success Day on the Saturday.

How is that a couple of days off?!

Mielabel · 21/03/2018 13:39

I'm sitting here after struggling in FLP for years and finally giving up thanks to threads like this- now in what I dreaded having, a J.O.B- it's not the failure I thought it would be, I am perfectly happy, comfortable financially (I'm not on loads but any stable income after MLM makes you feel like Jay Z), planning to move to a bigger place with my partner and looking forward to a two week holiday over Easter completely paid for by my full time job which expects nothing of me at weekends and in evenings and leaves my social circle alone. I can't believe how brainwashed I was.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 21/03/2018 13:46

Mielabel - well done on realising what was really going on whilst being part of FL and for getting out. Flowers

It must be such a relief for your time that you're not at work to be your time. Even the simple things like enjoying a coffee out and not having to try and recruit the waitress, chatting to people without having to steer the conversation round to products etc must make such a massive difference.

Mielabel · 21/03/2018 13:48

I do wish I could be a fly on the wall in some of these bots houses regarding their accounts though. I do wonder. For instance, do they see the money going down, always knew it was unsustainable long term, expected it and have a back up plan? Do they genuinely think MLM is great and are trying to stay positive and work hard and that it will be on the up again at some point? Or did they once think MLM was fine but now are starting to wonder, after seeing the dwindling bank accounts?

I may be naive but I always thought people like Yawn just really do believe in network marketing as it has worked for them, and that it would be a really sad realisation for her that it's not going to last and she will have to find another career. I felt sorry for them and wondered if it was stressful, figuring out what you were going to do with your life after spending your prime career building years on MLM and having to start out afresh with mortgage and kids.

But now I realise how much she is hiding. She knows full well what she earns and that it is nowhere near retirement money for them both yet posts a status saying the exact opposite and using it to lure more victims in including old couples and pregnant women feeling vulnerable and desperate for cash. She knows they are earning so little that her husband has gone back to work after she made a big deal of being able to retire him, and she hasn't mentioned that at all, just implies they are happily working and going to the gym together. I can't get my head round the fact she is intentionally deceiving people now.

Mielabel · 21/03/2018 13:53

Oh 100% Kenny! Sorry still can't figure out how to quote lol. I remember feeling guilty every time I just put my phone down to have a bath as I should be working constantly with MLM. It took me to the point where I was at the doctors with stress and anxiety as I thought not only was my lack of success my fault for not working hard enough (although I was always always working and bugging people) but I was so brainwashed by mindset training I thought any negativity would make the situation worse. Not only can I relax now, I can allow myself to feel a myriad of emotions, positive and negative, angry, sad, disappointed, anything- without being terrified they would impact my life.

I sound like I'm a few sandwiches short of a picnic writing this down but I was a bit younger, very vulnerable for a few financial and personal reasons when I was recruited, they used all the psychological tricks on the book and I'm far from the only one that swallowed the Law of Attraction as gospel. At least I'm out now Grin

Spongebobette · 21/03/2018 14:27

@Mielabel you don't sound like that at all. The techniques that Forever Living uses to hook people in and keep them in are very clever and it must be hard to resist all the positivity and love bombing at the beginning

I, too, have noticed how many new recruits are celebrated and puffed up by Yawnbot, only to disappear without trace a few months later after they have invested their 200 quid, replaced everything in their house with FL products, got their mum and sister to buy stuff..

It must be like Groundhog Day, the life of a top bot. Find a recruit, charm and flatter them, sign them up (or if they say no keep them 'warm',) love bomb them and do 1-1 training to launch their 'business', put 'plans in place' for a 4 figure monthly income, then more 'coaching' to help them build a team......
then back to the beginning again with the next one

Spongebobette · 21/03/2018 14:30

that post was so good it got posted twice!

cozietoesie · 21/03/2018 14:45

Indeed, Mielabel. You don't sound like that at all.

You make it sound like a 'treadmill', Sponge. (I guess that that's because it is. Sad)

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/03/2018 15:03

Yes, I think if it as a hamster wheel, using up a lot of energy and giving the one inside a sense of momentum, but not getting anywhere. Except hamsters are having fun...

dadandmum · 21/03/2018 16:22

Ok I think I have lost the plot and all the bots callsigns that we use on here!

Yawn Bot - Two sons, husband now seems to be doing Broadband?

Which one now has kitten?
Uber bot was number 1, but now number two and seems to have spent ages building a new house in-between maternity "leave"

Sorry its been a really long week!

@Dora, where can I find the list of qualifiers that you mentioned the other day?

Sean1984 · 21/03/2018 23:55

Does anyone else find really really annoying the way people in MLM’s , especailly ones with food/drink advertise the shite they are selling( broke bot has one up tonight). I’m talking like saying things like, “when i get up in the morning the first thing I do is drink insert name of magic potion here, it sets me up for the day”. That kinda crap, “i cant get thru the day without XXX”, “Im buzzing for the day after XXX”, I couldnt go on holidays without me aloe”. And then a picture on facebook which will alway have the produt in the background, strategically placed somewhere in the photo. Yawn coming out from the gym taking a selfie with the drink in the car,, and broke doing his lives drinking teaHmmConfused, he did one where he was actually making tea doing his live and boiling the kettle,, it comes across cringey tbh i think and so blatantly in your face advertising that comes across as desperate. Bit sad

sshuga · 22/03/2018 03:53

@mielabel, Congratulations on getting out. It sounds like you were all in, so I commend you for seeing the light. I’m curious about your “tipping point”, what caused you to begin to doubt?
I think when it comes to these bots who aren’t making what they claim, they have wholly adopted the “fake it till you make it” mindset and are convinced the only way to succeed is to control their mindset and do what they’ve been told will work if they keep doing it. My boyfriend was definitely not making money at all and yet he would not hear one bit of what I had to say if it wasn’t “encouraging and supportive”. And that was before I really expressed any criticism. When I expressed actual criticism, he became like another person spouting complete nonsense in an angry defensive tone, and it proved the beginning of the end of an otherwise very promising relationship.

SSDGM · 22/03/2018 08:52

Broke is once again making massive health claims. His magic mushrooms and super oil both treat and prevent cancer, according to stuff he’s shared. Add to that Bradford’s coffee shop she is opening so everyone in West Yorkshire can be thin and healthy because of instant coffee, surely it’s time Organo was taken out of the game by Trading Standards?
Seriously, how will that even work? How will she see off the lawsuits when the miracles she is promising from her sachets don’t materialise? For businesspeople they seem to know zero about business.

Ladiva1971 · 22/03/2018 09:06

He is doing a wonderful live atm Grin

Mielabel · 22/03/2018 09:17

@sshuga it was difficult for me because I am in a circle of people who know/went to school with/are family friends of some top FL bots (often mentioned here) so I could see it could work. Someone very close to me who sponsored me joined and became a manager and quit her job fairly easily (this was all back in say 2012 time ish). So to me this was proof it worked and that the issue was me.

To cut a long story short, I only really gave it up less than a year ago, around summer time last year. I tried yet again to make it work and just got really fatigued and felt so lost. I was mindlessly reading a Facebook community (WWS, mentioned here) and read comments on a makeup bots post mentioning Elle Beau's blog. Then down the rabbit hole I went, reading loads of anti MLM stuff, reading every thread here on it- but I only really truly had the lightbulb moment when I saw the company accounts of one of the bots I knew.

Realising I had been chasing a dream that I could work hard for 3 years then retire, travel, never answer to anyone - obviously sacrificing my actual career opportunities af this crucial stage of my life too while I focused on MLM - for someone who wasn't earning anywhere near what she claimed was a really strange mix of feelings. You can say anti MLMers are negative or jealous but you can't argue with facts.
