36 Lies to reel you in...

  1. They will tell you that you will have time freedom in this business. Two weeks later they will tell you the business won't work unless you do.

When it's a business event they will not accept excuses for you missing it and will set an example by missing their child's first birthday or telling you a story of how they once shit themselves in white trousers on the front row at success day because they were poorly but didn't want to miss it.... You will know quickly that the unspoken rules is 'no excuses on success day's.

A close friend of mine was invited onto the Worcestershire group mentioned above. She was telling me about it and how awful the behaviour/ comments were so I asked her to invite me on to see if it was MLM infested. I followed it for a month or so and yes it is as bad as the comments say. There are some genuine successful business women members but mostly MLMs and online tat sellers. I will have a look on it to see if there are any comments re article and report back.

Mielabel · 16/03/2018 21:08

I'm in that group and it is, to say the least, far too tightly controlled by the admins. Very bitchy, you can't say anything 'negative' no matter how polite or well-warranted (such as on a recent thread where a poster wanted advice helping her husband 'discover himself' or something similar as she had gone through a 'spiritual journey' (her words) and if he didn't change too they would be getting divorced- a few ladies expressed concern but had their replies deleted and told they had to be supportive...). I stay in there mostly for entertainment reasons and contrasted with another women-only group I'm in it just looks super toxic, immature and an embarrassment to the gender!

Apparently there's another group started up by those who left WWS called WW Community which seeks to be better. Not sure what their stance is on MLM though.

One of the high up JP Bots I follow has been posting about an 18 year old in her downline who has just been ’promoted’. This girl looks so young and potentially quite vulnerable as a single mother with a toddler. I’m getting more and more angry about the few at the top making their money from exploiting the many at the bottom.

entrepeneur · 17/03/2018 09:06

Did the messiah say he is selling scarves?! As well as some nutritional
Shot and shakes.

BangingOn · 17/03/2018 09:19

I thought the scarves were part of the promotional clothing range for the brand that everyone would want to wear as the designs (by his girlfriend) are so cool. Clever way to get extra money from your downline if they are ‘investing’ in all the gear.

Or possibly not, I don’t always understand him.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 17/03/2018 09:55

Wow. I've just watched a live from last night by a FL bot.

It was one of those lives where they bare their soul, talking about something that is clearly still very raw and emotional to them, about when they were at the lowest point of their life etc. The sort of conversation you might have with a close friend or a counsellor even.

Instead, this bot has put it on the internet for all to watch and got a meagre 5 likes and comments from 3 people (from her team obviously).

I have to say that this bot does loads of them like this - a real attempt to tug at the heart strings.

Is it really worth putting the desperate lows of your life out there in the public domain for a couple of "your amazing"s (sic) from people who know everything there is to know about you anyway because you probably tell them at every team get-together as it's part of your "why"?

I find it quite sad that they do this. All for the sake of trying to sell and recruit.

Another success day at forever living. How many times can you whoop at people walking across a stage?

BangingOn · 17/03/2018 18:51

Apologies if this has been posted before, but Elle have endorsed Younique as empowering women:

Spongebobette · 17/03/2018 19:27

OMG this is disgusting, Younique is nothing of the sort!!!

BangingOn · 17/03/2018 20:05

Bots are posting it with glee as it lends legitimacy and defends them against the Neg Heads.

Whiterangey · 18/03/2018 14:57

I've noticed that the USA are upping their game in the fight against cryptoponzi's. Cease and desists flying all over the place. High up scammers getting them as well. Someone who was high up in USI and various other Ponzi's has had his house searched and various items confiscated. It seems likely that legal action will happen.

They took hardware that stores his Bitcoin, apparently he has 2 million dollars worth of Bitcoin at least. They are stored on hard drives and they took them.

All of this is fantastic news, especially now it looks like they are starting to go after the promoters. Victims follow them from Ponzi to Ponzi losing lots of money. I know they are partly to blame for keep on doing it, but the promoters show off about all the money they are making and they want to do it as well.

I also think this may be why Sleaze is being a bit quiet at the moment, if some of his scams are getting shut down and his downline keep losing their money.

fitgirl26 · 18/03/2018 18:46

I'm really hoping that the Manc serial Ponzi pimp who was recently exposed in the Mirror gets her comeuppance when Usi finally sinks. Sadly I fear she will neatly slide onto the next one and carry on rinsing her trusting downline.

Sean1984 · 18/03/2018 22:56

So that on a FL uber bots page, shares a surname with a parasite that sucks blood form its host! That girl should stick to the architecture study, forever is the future !!

She'll be able to design a garage to house stock she can't sell to the gullible. If she ever finds herself broke and homeless she could design and build a castle made from yellow aloe juice containers. Grin

Corblimeyguv · 19/03/2018 06:35

Long time lurker here.

I think that threads like this are having a positive impact, so please keep it going. The power of social media works both ways and means victims can join the dots more effectively to realise that something isn’t what it seems. Also that the “leaders” don’t have a clue about how to actually run a real business. One crypto bot’s Facebook tag line is “on a mission to help people set their business on fire” which amused me.

I have a friend who I think was badly conned by Wig and Sleaze last year. She’s very coy about it though, so I don’t really know the full story, only that she invested money in something that we could all see would go wrong. She is quite naive, but is now trying to get others to sign up to another crypto platform which looks like an MLM so I am losing sympathy now. Why try to pretend you’re an investment expert when you have lost lots of money before? It changes people and their morals, doesn’t it? Angry

Dora, Yawn's bestie confuses me.

Her husband is always mentioned when you see them on a list of UKs Top 20 or whatever but he's rarely seen or mentioned and clearly has another job/business. He stays well clear!

Her profile seems quite low-key compared to most - she doesn't have the relentless, desperate fb recruitment posts the others seem to have or the "look at my expensive impeccably tasteful not purchases" posts every 2 minutes . Rarely mentions the products.

I note she has recently moved house though and we've not really seen much of the new one. Hmm Hmm , downsized maybe?

Twentytwentyhindsight · 19/03/2018 08:42

@Corblimeyguv - yes it does change peoples' morals. I thing the OP on this thread has got it spot on with the title. Not only are the bots lied to by the company, they are gradually dragged into a world where the truth becomes an increasingly flexible concept.
In FL, one of the first things you are told (and this is in black and white in a company brochure) not to tell people you are trying to convince to come to the weekly "business presentation" that the meetings actually happen each week- a way of bumping people into agreeing to come & not give them time to think it over).
Soon, you're in a world where stalking strangers in the street is "contact marketing", preying on vulnerable groups is "making sure they have a chance to benefit from the amaaazing product/business opportunity", projecting a false image of wealth and success is "attraction marketing", people asking you to stop harassing them are saying "not at the moment", friends become "prospects", those who express caution become "jealous negative-minded haters who don't want you to succeed", manipulative lies are "powerful business tools that will ensure your success".
Gradually, morality and truth are turned on their heads, and the victim becomes another link of deceit in the chain of exploitation (that they are still extremely unlikely to derive any benefit from...).

Whiterangey · 19/03/2018 08:54

I apologise in advance if anyone has any money invested with Bitcoin, but I really wish it would become all but worthless again.

If cryptocurrency was worthless then nobody would fall for cryptoscams, there would be no money in them so they wouldn't even get started.

Another added bonus would be that all of those who have made money in cryptoscams would find their ill gotten gains absolutely worthless.

No more ICO scams, no more mining scams, no more investment scams. So many people would be saved.

My only hesitation is that there are people who bought into Bitcoin or who mined the coins themselves years ago who are now worth millions and I think that is awesome, so they would lose out.

There are so many people who lose everything, some take their lives. I know that they had a choice to 'invest' everything into the scheme, but these scams are taking lives.

I know Ponzi schemes have historically resulted in some deaths, but the Ponzi schemes have exploded since cryptocurrency burst onto the scene. Everyone wants to get rich from it like those who were early investors or miners in Bitcoin did.

BangingOn · 19/03/2018 12:02

Crypto did take a hit over the weekend actually, although I do have some money invested in it I’d be happy for it to dip down long enough to scare off the scammers.

Dora I’d love a copy of the list if you don’t mind PMing it over? Much appreciated!

Messiahbot is bragging this morning about always being right but I don’t think I’m stalking the right people so haven’t been able to connect the dots to what’s happened yet.

dropdeadfitty · 19/03/2018 13:23

I would like a copy of the list as well Dora if possible?

BangingOn · 19/03/2018 13:56

The high up JP Bot I follow is bragging about how JP has been approved by Informed Choice in Sport, showing how amazing it is. From what I can see all it means is that JP capsules don’t contain any substances banned in competitive sport rather than they work or not.

Whiterangey · 19/03/2018 14:07

I too would like a copy of the list please @Dora

Ladiva1971 · 19/03/2018 14:33

@Dora pm me please hunz Wink

cozietoesie · 19/03/2018 14:35

Dora

Various legal issues were raised by people who watched these threads. (Including lawyers acting for MLMs.) At the time, there was considerable upset but we agreed to keep some of the details out of posts, in particular certain personal info, to allow the threads to continue.

I should add what you'll all no doubt know. PMs are, strictly speaking, subject to the same rules. (See the MNHQ PM guidelines.) I really wouldn't talk about them too much if I were you.
