Pea

I fear that people borrow money/use reserved funds/sell things if they haven’t got the readies. The Organisation don’t want to support you. Not really. They want their £££££.

BSintolerant · 20/11/2017 19:52

They wouldn't give a toss if you went bankrupt (and some have) because there's always another target just around the corner, hanging out with his / her imaginary friend Sucess.

And in light of what was said upthread, anybody who has had their arse touched without their permission should report the dirty old perpetrator to the police.

Loving the FL stats - thanks reformed.

Special interest in FL over the others as it seemed the biggest, and the one my demographic seemed to get sucked into with its ‘premium’ marketing.

It’s peak also coincides with the rise in these threads. I really hope these threads have played a part in bringing FL down. Sadly I fear it will just move on to even more vulnerable people (eg the rise of FL Nigeria) who absolutely have no safety net - aided by UKs ever more desperate bots.

cozietoesie · 20/11/2017 21:09

Local kinship structures there are both a strength and a terrible potential weakness, Bovney.

Hi whimsical, I don’t think it’s an MLM, I think she has set up a new business matching up people who want to sell things they have made, crafty stuff etc. with people who have been in MLMs in the past and just want to sell things without the dodgy recruitment arm.

Granted it might not be your cup of tea, but I’m pretty sure it’s not an MLM.

My FL bot is now offering 'custom' Christmas gift sets. Full price products in a Christmas bag.
I don't know how she can be making any money from it as there are only a few likes for her Facebook selling page posts now .

She's still messaging me to see if I want any products. I usually ignore it but I decided to try And stop those now by telling her I don't use products with parabans in them. (Which is the truth, I do try to avoid them if I can due to the question mark over link to cancer but didn't mention the cancer part ! )
Her reply to that was FL use natural parabans ! Which is a big lie .

I'm actually getting quite worried about how she's been sucked into this.

ReformedBot · 20/11/2017 23:19

Whimsical - having a team or a pre-launch doesn't mean 'MLM'. The explanation above is correct from what I have discussed with her.

After several years in MLM, you pick up an understanding of what works for promoting a business. Applying these techniques to a traditional business can be very effective but it can be hard to shake off the 'always involved in a scheme' view some people have. Not everyone will agree that these techniques work but you can never appeal to everyone (just look at the way the U.S. advertise things - those OTT techniques would be a damp squib over here!)

Boutie Loot will help small businesses AND those who just want to make a bit of profit by selling the small business goods. It stands to reason that the latter would form a team in order to share what is working and what is selling well. Not everyone has the time or inclination to develop their own product so this is ideal for those people.

As I understand it, Boutie Loot will not involve any recruitment or progression ladder making it a far cry from being an MLM.

Toobusytowee · 20/11/2017 23:20

Natasha Shingles' new business isn't an MLM. There is a lot of Bot speak but this (I think) is due to the fact that it is aimed at bots and ex-bots who understand things in those terms. There is no recruiting by the people who sign up. She is trying to set up a business model that can make money for people without exploiting them like MLMs do.

NatashaShingles · 20/11/2017 23:38

@whimsicaltart

Boutie Loot is 100% NOT an MLM, it has been created to help those who need a flexible work from home opportunity without recruitment, pressure, targets, bullshit, bullying, debt and all the other shit that comes with MLM. Our products are sourced from home based businesses many of which are crafters who struggle to find the time to sell their goods as well as make them.

I am having to "un mlm" many of the ladies I am working with as for some, mlm was their first and only introduction to self employment or team sales. I am currently working alongside over 100 people who have just had the worst year in terms of emotional distress or financial stress due to MLM. I am patient with all of them and it will take time for the MLM mindset to ease off. Some are still continuing their MLM businesses for now too, which is their right to do so, however I will be there to help them when they want to leave for good.

We do work very closely as a team. We have created genuine friendships within the team, mainly because I have spent 4 months or so helping them on a daily basis before the idea of boutie loot came along and this will naturally come over as similar to MLM on social media, however, I can assure you there is no underhanded tactics and back stabbing going on behind the scenes. What you see on Facebook is 100% who we are and how we genuinely feel about what we have created. I have absolutely no intention of ever being involved in another MLM company again. I am free..... and I intend to stay that way.

I have banned the use of the words 'eeeeeeek and hunz' however, launch is unavoidable and I have not used the term 'pre-launch' once to be fair lol. Any questions I am more than happy to answer x

NatashaShingles · 20/11/2017 23:40

And the daycare is still going on in the background, we had issues with our original premises so we are now hoping to generate funding for our own premises. Safeguarding problems were the issue with us not being able to key hold through the day (council premises) and we were not prepared to put our children at risk. Hence the set back.

Toobusytowee · 20/11/2017 23:43

Spongebobette, Freedom of information does not apply to Forever Living. It is only applicable to government agencies. What do you want to ask them?

Spongebobette · 20/11/2017 23:51

I want to know how many people have bought the ‘business in a box’ and how many are still FBOs after 6 months/ 1 year/ 2 years and what their average income is

Churn rate interests me

Peaheadz · 20/11/2017 23:59

One of my customers asked me about the parabens as well. I contacted FL and they said it was all natural and it preserves the product. I also asked about the sodium laurel sulphate and they said that was from coconut oil???!!!

DoratheExplorer17 · 21/11/2017 01:05

This was the reply I had once from FL head office about SLS and parabens!!

Please see below information received from the Head Office in United States regarding Sodium Laureth Sulphate and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.

These are common ingredients, similar in composition and both derived from coconut oil. They are used as cleansing and foam producing agents in some of our products. Both compounds are cosmetic detergents, which exert an emulsifying action thereby removing oil and dirt from hair and skin. They are widely used in personal care products and in baby and other non-irritating shampoos.

I have passed on all concerns from Distributors to our Head Office in America and have been advised to give out the following statement:

“For 30 years, Forever Living Products has been dedicated to helping people, both financially and by providing excellent products that promote a healthier lifestyle.

I appreciate the concerns you have raised, but please rest assured that Forever Living would never market any product if we thought it would be harmful to someone in any way.

Regarding specific concerns you have pertaining to some of the ingredients, we use CIR, an independent panel of top-notch physicians and scientists that reviews ingredients used in cosmetics.

All of this being said and, while we believe our products are absolutely safe, because of the negative public perception we have launched a campaign to remove as many of these ingredients from our products as possible. Several products have already been reformulated and we continue to work on others as I write this.

These ingredients would only be added in minute amounts.

I hope this helps

Thanks for your clarification about Boutie, Natasha. Sorry to hear about child care business hiccups though.

My work colleague, (who earns more than twice what I do), started touting Arbonne (was signed up by a "friend" apparently) last year but has been quiet about it until recently, when she has been posting a lot on fb in the run up to Christmas. I am so disappointed that this lovely, articulate, intelligent young woman has felt the need to become involved in such an awful MLM Sad. Baffled, actually.

On the plus side she never, ever mentions it in work. It is on fb that she posts a lot of typical MLM crap and tellingly, there is no reaction or replies to any of it, none. Whereas her "normal" posts attract a lot of attention. People are saying, without saying, "We Are Not Interested". She had some sort of online selling party at the weekend; little interest.

It is like she is selling her soul for a few bucks. Why? Would love to engage with her to find out why, but won't. It is her choice.

My friend already has joined Cozie :( she is just so desperate it’s sad to watch. I’ve signposted her to all the relevant places. She’s being rejected constantly apart from by her seemingly demented upline

NatashaShingles · 21/11/2017 09:46

I can only speak from my own experience but I joined FLP in 2014 as a temporary way to earn some extra cash when I was forced to give up my career as an activities organiser in the care industry. I never believed i would go on to earn a huge income. I think most start out that way. What i can say is that I have seen so many gain huge confidence from being part of NM and then go on to do great things outside of it. Myself included. It opened my mind to what I could achieve. That doesnt mean that everyone will stay or behave like a money grabbing arsehole. What is uncomfortable is to see far too many completely manipulated to stay when its time for them to move on. I never understood why anyone would not encourage someone to go and do whatever they wanted. I have always spoken highly of FLP for that reason but since leaving I see just how many are in debt and are too scared to walk away. There are 2 rule books in most companies and its no different in FLP, top leaders can do as they please and I have seen for myself the way people are spoken to if they dare do anything other than forever. I have kept so much to myself out of respect for those friends still involved but The hypocrisy makes my blood boil.

cozietoesie · 21/11/2017 12:01

Well done for trying, anyway, roses. It must be enormously dispiriting for you.

Were you close?

ReformedBot · 21/11/2017 19:18

Natasha nails it in her last post.

Forever taught me not to 'settle' and to re-visit goals and dreams I had pushed to the back of my mind whilst getting myself established in a career.

Though I guess it made me feel reliant on them being the only way I could do these things and why leaving was such a daunting prospect because "what could ever give me the lifestyle Forever faked offered"???

cozietoesie · 21/11/2017 19:20

So they give you faith in yourself as a member of their Organisation?

Myusername2015 · 21/11/2017 22:14

FL are clearly struggling to get people to attend the training courses that you pay for out of your own pocket...saw a status in the group saying now bots will be recognised on stage (round of applause) at success day (more money to pay) for having attended and paid for all the training courses this year! And get this..you get a badge!
Just in what planet can they make people believe this is good? Imagine in a real job being asked in your own time to go to and pay not only the cost of training but all the expenses...then at the end of the year you would pay to sit in a hall and everyone would clap you for it Hmm
