I wonder if castlebot's brother's claim that she'd bought the castle thanks to FL (remember that video?) and the revelations on here and Timeless Vie that this was a big fat festering fib did a fair bit of damage to Forever Living?

I'd love to know what they were saying about that behind the scenes.

BSintolerant · 28/11/2017 00:50

Not that it's a castle - it's a folly. Bit of a difference there.

Spongebobette · 28/11/2017 07:17

@Natasha indeed not, unless the barn conversion is being used as an illustration of success in MLM

Spongebobette · 28/11/2017 07:21

BS yes that video is a very nice example of an outright lie. And one that was easy to prove; that house/folly was actually in the market the whole time she was living there!

Other lies are more implied than outright, the whole attraction marketing and fake it till you make it rubbish is so clearly fantasy but harder to prove

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 28/11/2017 07:39

So what will happen to the bots who have bought their "dream homes" if business and recruitment is declining? If the value of these cheques drops significantly where does it leave them?

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 28/11/2017 07:44

Oh, and another question ....what's happening with Castlebot as she has gone very quiet of late?

It's often upto a week between fb posts, no real mentions of the company, the team etc. it's all about family. Her sister also seems to be throwing herself into her other (real) business, shoving FL into the background. It's only the brother who is botted to the hilt these days.

Surely the "diary" business isn't supporting their lifestyle and paying their mortgage?

Spongebobette · 28/11/2017 07:54

I think they make lots of money out of those Planners

Magicnumbers · 28/11/2017 07:56

Specialagent, this relates to my question from yesterday- FL friend seemed to go quiet sbot FL, but then yesterday evening asked if anyone was interested in Bitcoin and saying that it’s not too late to invest.

I am really worried that she’s now jumping into some really murky stuff, but I cannot see any company she is naming specifically.

I am quite concerned, so was asking for advice. Does anyone else have experience of a bot moving from a relatively okay-ish MLM (by which I mean, the stick actually exists ) to more shady stuff?

Spongebobette · 28/11/2017 07:56

PS I’ve never understood how bots get a mortgage based on FL. My husband runs his own business and the mortgage company looked closely at his books before lending us money

Spongebobette · 28/11/2017 08:02

@magicnumbers

The whole Bitcoin thing is completely dodgy. With most MLMs there is at least an actual product to lend legitimacy and prevent it being an obvious pyramid scheme.

With these electronic money ones, there’s not even a tangible product. They usually talk about Bitcoin as that is a successful electronic currency but all these new ones like eDinar etc are v dodgy. I did some digging into one scheme and it was all ‘double your money every two weeks’ etc etc but suddenly the currency dropped in value then it was ‘we are in this for the long haul it’s nof a get rich quick scheme’ and now it’s gone v quiet

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 28/11/2017 08:14

Spongebobette - exactly. Banks and building societies want all sorts of info from self-employed customers (my DP is self-employed too). I wonder if those making the decisions about lending have a clue about MLM's and how unstable an income it can be?
When both the husband and wife are involved with MLM (so no stable income between them) surely it could go tits-up so easily.

Re:Bitcoin - I really don't understand how this works but I know of one person who has recently become involved with it who really is the complete opposite of any MLM person I've ever come across. He is a bit of an eco-warrior type so I suspect he's involved as a "2 fingers to the banks" gesture. Are there a few of these crypto-currencies around then? Some more MLM and dodgy than others or are they all dodgy?

Eddierussett · 28/11/2017 08:43

seems to be throwing herself into her other (real) business, shoving FL into the background.

Can't think where I saw it know but I'm sure I saw a post about her talking in an MLM context about how to grow your business, be successful etc etc where the biography spiel was making much of how successful her other business is. It felt a tad deceitful because while she may have plenty of good advice based on that business it is not going to turn her audience into wealthy bots unless they also have a traditional business as well

SSDGM · 28/11/2017 11:08

Lipbot having a good old humblebrag on FB live.

Mielabel · 28/11/2017 12:25

Yes there are a lot of MLM schemes around Bitcoin at the moment. Appears the 'product' is software to help you invest and track your investments. Can't remember the name of some of them but HighStreetHoney Bot etc. are peddling these at the mo'.

If I was a successful bot right now, like BrowBot, I'd be really nervous. It does make me wonder how they are feeling. I wonder what their exit plans are, they must be having some. I think we might see a lot of 'business coaches' from these high-up bots soon, trying to make a name for themselves giving advice unrelated to MLM. Or perhaps branching out to other interests they have, such as interior design. It makes me wonder as I know from experience 'real' self-employment is very hard. I wish I could talk to one of them honestly and ask how they are feeling with the decline of MLM and what they will do if it continues.

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 28/11/2017 12:45

The thing is whatever line of business they go to when their MLM collapses/fails to provide a decent income they will expect to succeed in it straight away as there seems to be this instant gratification thing going on - "I want a new pedigree puppy" followed by next post "Meet X , our new pup". I'm sure you've seen it in action loads on fb posts

The example you gave Mielabel was interior designer ...well we all know one budding interior designer who , because of gushing posts from her downline, thinks she's the next Kelly Hoppen. The sad thing is I think she thinks that going to HomeSense and buying up knick knacks and displaying them on a painted cupboard is interior decorating

fitgirl26 · 28/11/2017 12:49

Usi-Tech seems to be the Bitcoin scheme that the Bots are flooding into - it's certainly the one that Ex LTW, Ex Valentus, Ex Vitae, Ex Edinar, Ex Flatbot's GF is flogging. The top UK Bot was one of the top UK Traffic Monsoon Bots.

An Organo Bot has commented on Lipbot's live saying that the coffee isn't bringing in the money and she's massively in debt for Christmas and can't afford to pay towards her daughter's wedding. It's very sad.

Magicnumbers · 28/11/2017 15:23

Thanks for the views on Bitcoin. I just left a comment to my friend’s post saying that it sounded risky, but I was sure she would research it carefully before doing anything. I honestly don’t know if she’ll listen, but I was just gobsmacked that she seems to have got into this murky world deeper than I had realised. She’s not financially savvy at all. I am seeing her and hubby this weekend- maybe i can ask her more about it in front of him.

@fitgirl26, I saw that too regarding the Organo coffee. Lots of overblown posts from that particular bot about how the coffee would mean she would be buying her dream car, then a post on Lipbot’s live about how she doesn’t know how to make the coffee work for her.

It’s awful to watch people being sucked in like that, and then question themselves rather than the ‘business’.

NatashaShingles · 28/11/2017 17:11

Bitcoin is a digital currency and perfectly legit. Lots of big companies accept bitcoin as payment. Its not the currency thats questionable its what platform its traded through. You an invest in bitcoin without recruiting anyone too. I have a friend that trades for other people and successful businessmen are buying £50k plus at a time. I was advised to just buy what I could afford and top up when I can and just leave it sat there. I havent yet but I have just added bitcoin as a payment option on my own business so makes sense to understand it better myself lol.

Spongebobette · 28/11/2017 17:41

These pyramidy Ponzi crypto currency schemes aren’t Bitcoin though. They use the history and reputation of Bitcoin to convince punters that their crypto currency will do similarly well.
EDinar was one example. Dreadful. You buy something non existent, have an online ‘wallet’ which increases in value rapidly and you think you are rich.

FuckYouDailyMail · 28/11/2017 19:36

Is Monat a MLM? My google search says yes but it's not one I had heard of before today.

Toobusytowee · 28/11/2017 20:18

Yes Monat is an MLM.

FuckYouDailyMail · 28/11/2017 20:20

Of course it is. Thanks too busy

Toobusytowee · 28/11/2017 21:20

Monat are in my directory of MLM. I didn't find much on them but there's some links if you wanted to read a bit more. botwatch.blog/2016/06/21/directory-of-mlm-information/

ArbunneHun · 28/11/2017 21:37

Yes, USITech, EDinar, GCC Coin, S Coin... all scams, I’m afraid. Anyone who knows anything about crypto currency will not touch them with a barge pole. They target people who don’t know/understand how crypto currencies work and are sucked in by promises of high returns on their investments. Same with binary options trading - massive scam.

I work for company with an investigative research arm. Even bitcoin traded through a legitimate exchange (and not via the schemes being promoted by bots) - it’s extremely risky. Only invest as much as you can afford to lose. The market is volatile, and unregulated. You have absolutely no rights and no protections.

cozietoesie · 28/11/2017 21:39

They mainly operate in the US, I think?
