BS

Fayer looks like the medieval form of the French verb faire, as may be found in such texts as the Chanson de Roland

😁

cozietoesie · 27/11/2017 15:02

Perhaps also in Quebecois? Smile

cozietoesie · 27/11/2017 15:04

Sorry.....by....

Is the Chanson de Roland the one where the Merrye Greene Knighte fought off a giant shrubbery d'aloe which was taking over the fayer ladye jardin?

cozietoesie · 27/11/2017 15:48

Undoubtedly. Grin

BSintolerant · 27/11/2017 16:19

I suppose weedkiller wasn't an option in days of yore. It'd leave the fayer ladye's jardin with a nasty burning sensation, which explains why some bots don't wear any trousers at these events. 😉

My theory behind the boom of FLP is that was the time the the uber bot started to train her downline to really use social media as a platform to promote yourself and your business. It worked for a long time, hence the boom, but it got to the point that most people knew about ten people on their friends list who were doing it and posting the same posts, same words, same scripted selling tactics and people have got really sick of being hounded. So many people have mutual friends that they were getting several of exactly the same messages from different bots. Reps started to be blocked because people didn't want to be harassed about joining their team. So they blocked friends and family. Because people had relied on social media so much that actually going out to talk to people seemed too much like hard work. So they quit. But it was already too late. It had already been all over social media and people had seen it. No one wants any part of it now. When I left, friends have confided in me how fed up they are of receiving messages or seeing the products and the 'I've got so much money lifestyle. Most people know that the majority of bots don't earn anything. It's the same handful of people who have made a lot of money and there is no one new coming up in the ranks. So consequently everyone knows it's all fake posts about 'now is the most exciting time to get involved'. No one believes that. Everyone has seen the massive drop in cheques so they can see that FLP is in decline in the UK! Doesn't take a genius to see that!

I’m sure you are right Dora

And those ‘look at my fab lifestyle, look how much money I have ’ posts never sit quite right in the UK in my opinion, we have been brought up being told that showing off is not nice (at least, I was). I think is much more acceptable in the US. I find it really crass and offputting

Spongebobette · 27/11/2017 18:45

That dreadful pair (Vida Davina bots?) with the big blonde hair and the bald head are the downmarket version of the Forever Living shills in their castles and barn conversions

SSDGM · 27/11/2017 19:10

They're Organo Gold. Just awful, the lot of them.

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 27/11/2017 19:39

I've just been chatting to my MIL who does craft markets (as in she makes and sells proper home-made, handcrafted items).

She has just been having a moan about the fact that a recent Xmas market she did had several FL and similar bots with stalls. Apparently the other stall holders are getting fed up as their presence puts people off going to the craft markets (they usually have an entrance fee and people don't want to pay and find people flogging overpriced aloe, they want handmade crafts).

Also, out of interest, the stall holders pay around £50-80 a day for a table. That's a lot of money for a struggling bot to find.

Spongebobette · 27/11/2017 19:56

That is a lot of money to find from selling products.. but if you get a couple of recruits at these events it might be worth it

Mind you, I’ve seen people giving Forever Living stalls a wide berth at such events, presumably because they are aware of the dander of being prospected!!!

Spongebobette · 27/11/2017 20:02

*danger

And what put me off, the first time I saw a FL stall, at an infant school fair, was that there was so little on there (at 10am so she hadn’t sold all her stock or anything)
There were a few lip balms and then one each of a few different products, you had to order what you wanted. And an aloe plant for decoration and lots of leaflets
First thought... if i can’t buy it and take it away, i am likely to move on to the next stall
Second thought... I don’t want you coming to my house thank you very much

If she’d had products piled high it would have been more attractive... but then she’d have had to buy them herself first wouldn’t she, v expensive

Also, another woman was lurking (I realised later prob her upline), over made up and scarily friendly

Magicnumbers · 27/11/2017 21:17

Just as I thought my FL bot friend was going a bit quiet about her business and starting to look at getting an actual job...this evening she posted something about Bitcoin.

I can’t see anything that connects her to a specific business, but something feels wrong. One of those motivational ‘it’s not too late to invest’ posts.

Is there anything I can do? Anything I might be able to look out for connecting her to a company?

Her husband earns good money, and they don’t seem to want for anything. For some reason though there’s almost desperation coming from her about making some money.

Can any give me some advice? Sad

Peaheadz · 27/11/2017 22:22

I used to do school fetes and I used to only take what I could carry and get people to order products. Simply because I couldn’t afford to buy lots of stock and be unable to shift it. Also I didn’t have a car. The irony was that I was planning to go for car plan..... I stopped doing them when I got nothing out of them.

DoratheExplorer17 · 27/11/2017 22:46

The Xmas fayres and craft fayres are never about selling products. Always just another way to add people to your list of potential victims

ReformedBot · 27/11/2017 23:25

Yep. Many times I told my downline it was "all about the free prize draw questionnaires"😳

Basically a way to grow your 'Who Do You Know List' to then offer product trials to them. These questionnaires usually included a list of medical ailments for them to tick...

I once went halves with a downline and paid £45 each for a stall. Neither of us made any notable sales or contacts to cover that cost. I later only did a free stall. I hated stalls and never felt they were worth it but I coached them in case they just weren't MY strong point. I always felt a little bit inferior in the room of traditional business owners though I faked a tough, proud front.

ReformedBot · 27/11/2017 23:36

That reminds me of one of the first times I saw a deceitful side of my upline. Castles BFF/ex-colleague did a video into our team page about networking and making friends.

At this point I had pretty much contacted everyone I had ever been in contact with.

She gushed in this video how she had been chatting with some school Mums and had volunteered to help with a school fair (not doing an FL stall!!). What struck me most on this video was how she said she had never mentioned Forever to them because she hadn't felt it was appropriate. This accompanied by a side comment about never having her make up on at morning school run as an excuse...

Wait?
I thought you can 'make excuses or make money'?
I thought 'if we don't share this with everyone then we are being selfish'?

Possibly my very first hint that I was indeed a worker ant and my 'positive mindset' to not worry about others opinions of me was not shared by my upline who clearly didn't want to be judged at the school gates DESPITE her success.

Teenageromance · 27/11/2017 23:40

The decline inFL lifestyle posts and the boasting has been quite dramatic. I think it is a combination of the reward for recruiting someone going from 2cc to 1cc which makes it very hard to get 4cc every month and also these threads and the Facebook page have had a big impact I reckon.

ReformedBot · 27/11/2017 23:40

Might I add I don't think she ever dropped Forever into conversation with the School Mums at that point. Her video was purely to show us 'how easy it is to network ruthlessly make new friends'.

ReformedBot · 27/11/2017 23:45

teenage I don't think there is anywhere left for them to go. Those at the top cannot go any higher lifestyle-wise now business has declined. Those who were following the 'successful path' and in line to become top-bots have lost huge percentages of their income so cannot keep on portaying their next big life step.

I think at one point it was easy to fake it as things were growing at such a speed that 'making it' wasnt too far behind and the image didnt have to be faked for long but now its a different story altogether.

Peaheadz · 27/11/2017 23:49

I stopped doing the fetes because I didn’t know where I was going wrong. I wanted my upline there to guide me and show me how to do well.

I probably wasn’t going wrong anywhere...

ReformedBot · 28/11/2017 00:16

Can an FBO qualify for a Chairmans Bonus cheqie but not Global Rally Hmm

NatashaShingles · 28/11/2017 00:28

@sponge oi, nothing wrong with a barn conversion 😂😂😂 (except the heating bill)

@reformed yes you can qualify for CB without GR. You get more for doing both, extra days on holiday and more spending money. X

cozietoesie · 28/11/2017 00:36

No. You weren't, Pea. Smile
