Joking aside ....
I'm not being a bitch taking the piss out of the "upcycling" projects.
What I am taking the piss about is the "hey, I want to do this" followed a couple of hours later by the "hey, here's the finished result!" .
This gives the impression that you want something then you get it straight away ie. instant gratification.
The truth is that to get something worthwhile it takes a little longer.
What you probably get in the instant gratification approach is something that looks OK from a distance, with the use of a filter, clever angles etc. however if you actually examine it closer then it's a different picture (you could say a bit like the whole MLM lifestyle as portrayed by our shill bots).
In comparison, back in the real world, I'm "upcycling" (god I hate that expression) some old kitchen cupboards to use in our utility room -rather than finishing the project in less than 8 hours from conception to completion like some people, mine is taking 3 days or so (removing doors and fittings, 2 coats of primer/undercoat with drying time and sanding in between plus one or 2 coats of egg-shell).
I wonder whose will last longer or stand up better to close inspection ...?
