Good for you Jonsey, I think it reeks of desperation myself, I dont think things are as great as she makes out on her fb, surprise, surprise. Hmm

Flutteringkites · 17/09/2017 22:22

Is there any Facebook groups these bots don't infiltrate? I recently joined several dog and puppy groups on Facebook, having just got a little dog of my own.

Next thing, loads of friend requests from complete strangers, who are also members of the group, but have never chatted to me within the groups.

Every time I check their profile, well, fuck me, they are an MLM bot.

I might string them along and then say, no thanks, my dog doesn't wear leggings/use candles/need any of your snake oil, thank you very fucking much.

I find it very difficult to believe that celebrities endorse products for no gain to themselves, whether that is directly financial or in some other quid pro qui arrangement. After all that is why they have agents

BSintolerant · 17/09/2017 23:31

Me too crumpets. Any agents or PRs who are following these threads might want to pop on (ha!) and let us know if they've been approached by MLMs waving cash around for endorsements.

BSintolerant · 17/09/2017 23:39

flutteringkites Grin You don't expect to run the gauntlet in dog or puppy groups, or even DIY, dogging and PUPP box groups. Bots are everywhere, and so are we.

crumpetsfortea37 · 18/09/2017 07:35

"quid pro quo" obvs - autocorrect at work again :)
I am in PR and although have never been approached by an mlm - not my patch - just think a "no gain" endorsement highly unlikely

Spongebobette · 18/09/2017 09:40

Just wanted to say.... Painting 400 year old stone, gluing bits of wallpaper to beautiful 400 year old wood and putting nails into a 400 year old wooden door to hang tacky hearts from...is not interior design, it is nasty and crappy
Please don't encourage other people to do this

BSintolerant · 18/09/2017 11:36

What would the conservation people at the Local Council think?

Annie65 · 18/09/2017 12:16

Sponge, as my lovely Grandma used to say, "Just a load of dust collectors".Wink

SSDGM · 18/09/2017 12:32

Hooray! My dear friend who I lost to FLP seems to have given up! I quietly sent her a friend request and she's accepted. I won't mention it, but I'm so happy she recovered from being a Hun.

mishfish · 18/09/2017 13:14

What is this obsession with tacky hearts? Honestly can she not possibly think of anything else to hang?

MrsGotobed · 18/09/2017 13:42

It's just the "twigs and pebbly shit" (from a few years ago) approach.
No imagination, straight off the shelves of Next and Home Sense and appeals to the masses I guess.

Toobusytowee · 18/09/2017 15:53

SSDGM, I am really happy for your friend. I hope she isn't too damaged from the experience. I'm sure your understanding and patience will help her.

OohAahBird · 18/09/2017 16:20

The bit that makes me sad is that some (not most) but aloe in particular is actually a really good product and is amazing on burns, and due to all the mlm shit most people dismiss it. I use it on my sons scars it works, but due to the whole mlm and need for huge prices to pay off commissions its over priced. But some of the actual products are good, but you don't want to buy or recommend them!

MrsGotobed · 18/09/2017 16:41

OohAahBird I know what you mean. We have some aloe gel that we bought in Tenerife ( way cheaper than FL obviously!) and we use it regularly on spots, burns, rashes, itchy skin etc.

If ever I recommend using aloe to anyone I always quickly add a disclaimer that its not a FL one but one that you can buy from places like Holland and Barratt or local health food shop in case people think that I've been suckered in or, worse still, that I'm a bot about to do the hard sell.

cozietoesie · 18/09/2017 17:15

I take it that the H&B cost is .......bearable? Smile

MrsGotobed · 18/09/2017 17:34

Yep, and as a bonus they don't clog up my facebook feed with endless motivational quotes about how wonderful they are or try to get me to sign up to flog it in direct competition with them! Smile

BSintolerant · 18/09/2017 18:26

I'll leave this entertaining article by Ramit Sethi here for your enjoyment huns! www.iwillteachyoutoberich.com/blog/i-hate-indian-network-marketers-so-much/

Toobusytowee · 18/09/2017 18:30

I've just written a blog post on Xerveo. You've got to see the picture of the Distribution centre!

ForTheTimeBeing · 18/09/2017 18:41

Haha, am laughing at the FL magazine (Tesco magazine equivalent) which FBOs have to PURCHASE to use as a marketing tool.

Bratsandtwats · 18/09/2017 18:48

Are Travel Counsellors an MLM? Just had a message on FB from the relative of a friend saying she will be a self employed personal travel advisor.

Toobusytowee · 18/09/2017 20:23

Brats, there is a travel agency MLM out there. Are there any clues about what it might be called?

swishswishbot · 18/09/2017 20:26

@Bratsandtwats travel counsellors are a franchise not Mlm

Bratsandtwats · 18/09/2017 20:27

Thanks guys.

Toobusytowee · 18/09/2017 21:08

Oh, I didn't realise Travel Counsellors was the name of the company, I thought it was a job title!
