mellowma do you have any experience with getting your money back, at what i am thinking should be the end?! I filled a warrant on 3/4/07. I spoke to their solicitor after i filled judgement, asking for my money, them claimed they hadn't received the papers from the court, she was going to call them, then call me the following day. She didn't, so i filled a warrant. my question, if you can help is what next? how long should it take for the bailiffs to get my money? Is there anything else I can do? It's LTSB I'm dealing with.

OK ta. In my initial claims I added the interest on which I'd worked out using the calculator on MSE.com - is that the 8% you mentioned or something different? In any case I have the figures with and without interest for my phone call. So court costs will be about £130 then?

I'll ring them in a bit and report back. Thanks for support.

and, yes, email contact would be useful in case phone call goes tits up!

Both judgement and warrant just show up as issued, then saying they have been delivered. I don't know that they would be acknowledged. If you do have the time, yes please i would be grateful if you could post for me. I have been trawling different sites, but haven't found anything useful yet. Thanks for your help.

It's my understanding that even those of us who go overdrawn a lot (freelances who get told the cheque is in the post when it isn't, for example) are entitled to claim back charges as it's not the right of the banks to charge that's the issue, it's the amount. IE they're not allowed to charge more than their costs, they mustn't profiteer out of customers' fincanical difficulties and they mustn't impose punitive charges.

So I'm claiming back about £5K from natwest, who sent statements within roughly 28 days - have sent first letter (from WHich website template) asking for the money back. They've got another 7 days or so to reply.

Thanks Mellow, Ive done the letter (thanks for the link) it looks reall serious and formal. Will they respond within 14 days. I just know that I would be the person that the bank decides to go to court to fight it out - how scary
