@strawberrygate if you don't mind me asking, what sort or stuff are you doing? Is it all accas or casino or other stuff? I'm on PA too which I've found really helpful. I want to ramp up my activity once the football season gets going again.

strawberrygate · 18/06/2017 11:35

miss fitton
I never do casinos and haven't summoned up the energy for ACCA's, though will start this football season. Mainly do horses, but basically any offer that looks half decent. eg. Leovegas had a lovely offer last week where for every 4 inplay tennis bets you got a free bet. It was time consuming, but I just settled down when little ones were asleep and rattled them all off so it was a risk free £50 a day. I only realised the joy of the paddy power 2up lock in towards the end of last season so I'm hoping to make a lot out of that when the footy starts.

HeyRoly · 18/06/2017 19:48

I started the Leovegas tennis offer but gave up after two in-play qualifying bets because tennis odds changed lightning fast - every time I ran the odds through the Oddsmonkey calculator, the odds changed again and I had to calculate again. SO stressful! Decided it wasn't worth it because the qualifying losses were comparatively high and the profits comparatively small. How on earth did you make £50 a day from it? Shock

SierraJensen · 18/06/2017 21:59

Yeah I decided against the tennis too after watching how the odds moved. Tips before wimbledon would be good!

FiveHoursSleep · 18/06/2017 22:02

I've been playing with the Extra place matcher on Odds Monkey. Have made £55 over the weekend from 5 different races. You need to keep an eye on the odds changing, especially with Smarkets but it seems good to go!

HeyRoly · 18/06/2017 22:22

Ok five, I've been thinking for a while now that I need to read up on how you make money from extra place races, but IIRC this involves doing E/W bets and I haven't done that before.

Is there a good guide somewhere?

FiveHoursSleep · 18/06/2017 22:55

Are you with Oddsmonkey? There is a video here and then on the site they have a good explanation about extra places.
It's more risky than matched betting as you may just be left with a loss, but you have more to make as well.

HeyRoly · 18/06/2017 22:58

I am with Oddsmonkey. Right, something to do this week during nap time Grin Thanks!

AloeAloe · 19/06/2017 13:03

Baby only managed 20 minutes nap 🙄 Not much done today. Looking for Ladbrokes options for my free bet. Was going to bet on Ascot but nothing on oddsmatcher. Is that usual? Also, which spreadsheet does everyone use?

FiveHoursSleep · 19/06/2017 13:39

I use the teamprofit spreadsheet. Have to go through and adjust things every week or so, but it gives me the general idea.

strawberrygate · 19/06/2017 14:30

heyroly I basically chose odds the same or very slightly under the back odds, bet on the fav. stuck the lay bet in to place on smarkets and waited for it to match. as you say, the odds change so much that seemed the easiest and most profitable way to do it. I kept an eye on them to make sure the fav, wasn't drifting in which case I'd have taken a ql

HeyRoly · 19/06/2017 17:50

Thanks strawberry. Just too difficult for me when I'm just using my phone Smile

William Hill are giving away £5 credit on virtual horse racing. You have to wager it though, and I busted out pretty quickly.

Also, Sky are doing risk free bets on the 2.30 at Ascot tomorrow. Betfair are giving away a £10 Sportsbook bet if you place an exchange bet for the same race.

Truckingalong · 19/06/2017 18:22

I'm now at £64 over 5 days, which is small fry but I'm chuffed with it. I got 5 free spins at something (!) and won £6.75, which took about 2 minutes, which is the equivalent of £202 per hour 😆😆 I'm getting cocky enough to try the horses. Any obvious pitfalls to avoid?

Truckingalong · 19/06/2017 18:52

I don't understand the sky/ascot offer. Can someone explain? I back a horse with sky and then lay it. If it loses the race, fine, I get my free bet. If it wins though, I get my winnings but get no free bet from sky and I pay out at the exchange, so I might lose a few coppers. Am I missing something?

strawberrygate · 19/06/2017 18:59

trucking no, you're right. Back, lay and hope it loses.
Alternatively, back and don't lay as you get your bet back if it loses, and will just win like a normal better if it wins! Of course you'll lose a little when you bet your free bet but most people punt this sort of offer

Choconuts · 19/06/2017 19:11

Trucking you need to use the risk free calculator on oddsmonkey and it'll tell you how much to lay so that you get equal profit whether the horse wins or loses. You should be able to make about £14 guaranteed Smile

strawberrygate · 19/06/2017 19:17

choconuts is the more sensible approach!

Truckingalong · 19/06/2017 19:37

Thanks. Strawberry, I get your explanation - hope it doesn't win!

Choc - I don't get it! If the horse wins, you get a pay out form the bookies (and therefore no subsequent free bet) but your winnings are off-set by the fact that you pay out on your liability at the exchange?

Choconuts · 19/06/2017 19:48

Yes but you underlay so the liability is less which guarantees the profit if you win. I'm not very good at explaining - are you a member of oddsmonkey they've got tutorials etc explaining.

Strawberrys method is more exciting though Wink

Truckingalong · 19/06/2017 19:57

I'm a member of odds monkey but not a paying one - although they currently have an offer on for a 7 day membership for £1. I've not heard of underlay before. Will google!

Does anyone worry about having so many bookie accounts open with their card details stored? It's not enough to put me off but it does niggle a bit.

MistressDeeCee · 19/06/2017 20:14

Really interested in getting into this but am a complete novice/going to be reading tutorials. So Im a thread watcher here hoping to gain useful info

titchy · 19/06/2017 20:23

This is a good calculator for the risk free bets - shows how it works quite well:

Bet365 have a risk free bet of up to £50 for Ascot (in fact they always have this on selected races). Back Mutakayef (2.30 race) at 7.5, lay £39 at 8.4 (smarkets - odds may be better tomorrow) - profit of £38 regardless of outcome.

At least I hope....

strawberrygate · 19/06/2017 20:29

titchy I miss the days of having 365!

titchy · 19/06/2017 20:33

Grin So how long before you were gubbed? Do you reckon I can do 2 of these a week with them and get away with it?
