Comeon have offered either a £10 free bet or £25 casino bonus? The £10 free bet I know I can make a profit obviously, but I don’t know how the casino works. Is the £25 bonus worth taking? Is it likely something will come of it?

Shnazzyshot · 07/11/2017 20:27

Mama I would check the t&c for the casino bonus as normally they need to be waggered x amount of times before you can withdraw. I might be completely wrong though as I'm just a newbie.

moogdroog · 07/11/2017 20:43

Shnazzyshot - my second gubbing (first was PaddyPower). Normally they email to regretfully tell you that you're now ineligible for promotions (well, they did actually, but I missed it as was preoccupied with DH writing off our car!). I noticed it as my bet club bonus failed to appear, and I recieived an error when trying to opt in to a Vegas promotion. I'm a bit gutted, but I really haven't looked after my accounts as I should, so probably deserved it.
I've now decided to treat my William Hill and Ladbrokes accounts like precious tiny baby birds Smile

moogdroog · 07/11/2017 20:46

Mamahanji - check the T&Cs thoughly for wagering requirements and what it can be spent on, and if there's a cap on winnings too. There's certainly more risk with it, but you could potentially take out more than you could with the free bet.

Shnazzyshot · 07/11/2017 22:17

I love William hill. I signed up to them on Sunday and so far I've had 3 x £10 free bets and this morning they emailed me a bet £10 get 3x £5 free bets and then they've just text me saying bet £20 get a free £20 bet! I'll definitely make sure I do plenty of mug bets with them.

I reeeeeally hope my withdrawal comes through tomorrow. I'm desperate to get going again!

How long ago did you start moog? I've head paddy power are quite quick at gubbing people.

titchy · 08/11/2017 07:22

Paddy power - I assume you know they own betfair so you need to lay with another exchange?

I didn't know that titchy. Thanks for the heads up. Luckily I haven't signed up with them yet.

My withdrawal came through today so I've been able to put on some bets. Hope the bookie doesn't win or I'll be back to square one again!

Shnazzyshot · 08/11/2017 19:21

Ah no the horse won so now I've got £120 at the bookies which I need to wait to withdraw again Angry can't wait to get a bigger float so I can do more than one bet at a time.

noodleaddict · 08/11/2017 21:01

Can anyone help? I'm trying to use a free bet on 188bet (which I hate btw) and horse racing will only let me bet on 'SP'. Should I avoid this as the odds aren't fixed and I could end up losing out?

titchy · 08/11/2017 21:15

Yeah avoid unless you know about horses! When's the race? Wait till lunchtime on race day and there should be actual odds available.

I appear to have become complacent.....Last week we busy IRL so I only did three bet and get clubs. Turned out this week I'd managed to balls up one of the bets in all three clubs so came out with no free bets! Angry My own fault, didn't read the terms properly for one and balls up my minimum odds for another. Duplicate bets not counting screwed the third.

Moral of the tale, don't get lazy - make sure you check the Ts & Cs! Grin

noodleaddict · 08/11/2017 21:57

Titchy thanks...race is tomorrow. Just annoying as it doesn't seem to offer the option of fixing odds now! Have found one for tomorrow where I can though. So confusing Confused

Beowulf007 · 09/11/2017 11:59

I'm studying a masters in Finance through Open Uni, never got into matched betting before as I calculated I'd be better using my spare money to buy and resell event tickets which is giving me solid returns. But looking to diversify so will follow this thread.

If anyone who is regularly and successfuly making money through matched betting would like to get into ticket reselling too and wants to swap techniques and best practices message me. Regulations and company/industy policy can change quickly so diversifying would be useful for both.

I understand that you’re just trying to make money. But the difference with matched better is we are making money off of the bookmaker.

My buying and reselling tickets, you’re making money off of average joe people. Every year my partner and I use our Christmas and birthday presents to each other as buying event tickets once or twice a year. And nearly every fucking time, events are sold out within minutes and ticket touts like you have them up for 3x the normal price and we can’t go and see them because people are exploiting us for their own gain.

I have no problem with taking free money from a massive conglomeration that causes thousands of people to have gambling addiction and debt problems. I do have a problem with mugging off people that just want to go and see their favourite band but can’t because ticket touts ruin it for everyone.

Alittlepotofrosie · 09/11/2017 13:28

Yeah no thanks. I think ticket touting is immoral.

Beowulf007 · 09/11/2017 13:50

Sorry you feel that way mamahanji and Alittlepotofrosie. I think swearing and abortion is immoral, others don't. You feel buying and reselling goods is inmoral, I don't. All legal. No harm, apart from little Elizabeth's mummy choosing to pay me £100 for a Little Mix ticket instead of the subsidised and below-market price of £40 that some got it for. Third world problems.

Shnazzyshot · 09/11/2017 15:30

Sorry I have to agree with everyone else. Not fair for real fans to have to pay over the top for tickets because of people like you. It's the same for people who buy the hard to find toys at Christmas then put them on eBay for £££. Horrible.

Shnazzyshot · 09/11/2017 15:35

Shall I make a new thread as this one's almost full?

mamahanji · 09/11/2017 15:47

Yes new thread please!

I’m still bitter that my partner and I spent ages queueing for foo fighters tickets but we didn’t get them. But 4 minutes later, hundreds were selling for 4x the price. Yh It’s a first world problem. Caused by you.

Beowulf007 · 09/11/2017 16:15

Wow wasn't expecting such hatred, maybe I'll keep this legal side income a secret from now on 😂

HeyRoly · 09/11/2017 16:34

It may be legal, but it's one of the shittiest ways to make money I can think of.

MissFitton · 09/11/2017 18:53

Beowulf - if you're doing a Masters you clearly have some brains. I'm surprised that you see MBing and selling on tickets as comparable. They're really not.
