Thankyou. I'm sorry to keep asking questions but I've managed to utterly confuse myself.

My spreadsheet and actual bookie account do not add up for my latest bet.

I put £10 on a horse at 2.75. It won. According to yesbets and my spreadsheet, I should have won £27.50 (including my stake). But according to my bookie account I actually won £43.33.

I followed yesbet links and did exactly what it said. I lost my liability of £18 so that worked out right.

The only thing I can see that may explain this is it says 'win or each way' on the completed bet.

Obviously I am happy that I seem to be unexpectedly up overall, but the aim is to break more or less even so I need to know what happened. Please can anyone explain?

HeyRoly · 12/06/2017 19:08

I'm wondering whether a horse/several horses dropped out and the bookie therefore changed the odds? Sometimes you see "RF" (I can't remember what this means without Googling). Obviously it worked in your favour and the back odds ended up much higher than the lay odds.

To check this, can you see whether the odds are shown as 2.75 at the bookies, or was it something higher?

HeyRoly · 12/06/2017 19:27

Although... I'd normally expect odds to shorten instead of lengthen when horses drop out. So on second thoughts, maybe I'm wrong.

LemonadeWithACherry · 12/06/2017 19:48

Yes I checked the completed bet and it stated the odds just as they were!

LemonadeWithACherry · 12/06/2017 19:53

I would post a picture of the completed bet at the bookies but I don't want to get gubbed. Confused

HeyRoly · 12/06/2017 19:55

Why would you get gubbed if you posted a screenshot?

OverthinkingSpartacus · 12/06/2017 20:01

You could crop/blur your bookies username off the screenshot if that would make you more comfortable.

Are you sure that all of the £43 is from the bet winning and not a free bet or casino bonus being lumped into the full amount?

LemonadeWithACherry · 12/06/2017 20:08

I would have thought it would detail something like that? I did have free spins today but I only won about £1.50. I have free bets sitting there but this says it's from this one bet!

I will post it in a bit.

LemonadeWithACherry · 12/06/2017 20:52

I don't know how to blur stuff so I got dh to cover the receipt number and name of the horse Grin

ASauvingnonADay · 12/06/2017 21:09

Oh god it is all so confusing 🙈 my first free bet still hasn't appeared on Betfred!

AloeAloe · 12/06/2017 21:44

Nor mine! I read the t&c and it says 48 hours but mine hasn't appeared. I wonder if you ask or if that draws attention to you? I don't particularly like the site. I can't find out how to set decimals on it. And my team profit spreadsheet is just a blank page.... Perhaps I should wait. Baby is teething and would like more time to read up. Fascinated even though it's driving me crazy.

ASauvingnonADay · 12/06/2017 21:55

It's odd.. think mine has gone over 48hrs.. also I placed a £10 bet which has finished and I have £10 cash in my account. I don't know if I'm just being thick, but shouldn't it either have won and I'd have £10 plus what it won? Or have nothing?

Chocolateteabag · 12/06/2017 22:26

Hello everyone - just popping in to mention that TeamProfit have done really good (& free) beginners guides to the various welcome offers - you can work through them without having to pay any subscription fees. team profit themselves do recommend joining Oddsmonkey to progress past the welcome offers though. But no need to pay £15 until you need to!

Chocolateteabag · 12/06/2017 22:30

Aloe & Sauv - try going into your accounts and putting a bet onto your bet slip - sometimes the free bet then appears on your bet slip - without it showing in your account

If nothing tomorrow - get onto live chat and ask them.

SierraJensen · 12/06/2017 22:48

Lemonade perhaps it was a best odds guarantee? So if you backed the horse at 2.75 and then the odds rose to something like 4.3 right before the race started you would have benefited from the starting price. Great when that happens!

LemonadeWithACherry · 12/06/2017 23:46

Ooh I've never heard of that Sierra! Yes it could be that I suppose.

SierraJensen · 13/06/2017 06:52

Happened to me yesterday - ended up with an extra £16 on what was just a qualifying bet for a bet club. Maybe we both backed the same horse!

AmateurSwami · 13/06/2017 12:55

Marking!

GrimDamnFanjo · 13/06/2017 17:24

Is everyone getting ready for Ascot next week?
I'm trying to sign up and wager through Betway as they are promoting a free bet if your hose loses...

HeyRoly · 13/06/2017 17:27

Ooh, good tip grim. I was considering signing up for Betway since not much else is on at the moment.

FiveHoursSleep · 13/06/2017 19:31

I'm working my way through Betway too. very tedious as my horses keep winning!

LemonadeWithACherry · 13/06/2017 20:55

What spreadsheets are you all using? I've been using the Team Profit one but it's stopped calculating the profit and loss for some reason. I've shut it and reopened it, don't know what else to try.

HeyRoly · 13/06/2017 23:09

I've not been logging it at all Blush

I tried writing it all down longhand but I cba with that nonsense. I wish I could log it properly but don't have time and only a crappy old laptop for assistance. I do everything with my phone Confused

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/06/2017 00:39

Re Betway. There are a few low odds footie matches at the mo, which is helpful. I'm a bit worried at the wagering and the potential gubbing..
Spreadsheets - I use one which is a Google sheet but I can't recall where I got it from , it's created by a bloke called Tim Tranter I think?

HeyRoly · 14/06/2017 10:26

I've had to rethink starting Betway today. Everything won at the bookies yesterday, including a horse with odds of NINETEEN (FFS Grin) so I now have £40 in Smarkets and £50 in Betfair.
