Freckled I think we've all done things like that! If it's any consolation, I find William Hill are great for free bets. I had one today for putting an election bet on.

FreckledLeopard · 08/06/2017 09:44

Thanks, Sierra. Kicking myself....fingers crossed for some free bets!

HeyRoly · 08/06/2017 10:12

I've messed up like that way too often!

William Hill are offering a £5 live casino bonus today. Can't see any free election bets for me, sadly!

Sky Vegas also have a daily instant win thing running for the next few weeks. Yesterday I got BOGOF on Deal Or No Deal scratch cards. I've bookmarked the link to check every day:

Thanks for the WH casino heads-up roly - just won £20 which take my profit so far (in two months) to just past the £1,000 mark GrinGrinGrin

I managed £13 myself. I don't like roulette! Managed to get as high at £29 at one point.

titchy · 08/06/2017 15:17

I ended up £55 up - sadly the max allowable was £20. I just went for either odds or evens and got lucky most of the time... was quite tedious though.

Can anyone recommend any guides for betting on casinos/scratch cards etc - think I've just got my head around matched betting using bookies and Betfair but don't understand how to make money on things like slots and bingo etc.....

HeyRoly · 08/06/2017 15:31

Oddsmonkey have guides for casino and bingo sites, I really recommend them.

There's no real strategy for slots and scratch cards though, it's pure luck. Which is why I'll only play them if it's risk free Smile

OverthinkingSpartacus · 08/06/2017 20:47

Betfair have five free spins. Need to go to casino then promos and opt in.

I chose the franki slot and hit two bonuses so am £10 up, after you've done the free spins you get another offer too.

Got nowhere on the roulette freebie, stuck to min stake on reds, and every spin was bloody black.

willhillgames app notified me of limited number of free spins giveaway but I missed out, they must have been claimed as the promo was finished an hour later.

For casinos, I learnt everything I know from the OddsMonkey guides. There's a bunch of risk free sign up offers in the casino training guide section that would be good to start with. I don't know if PA has similar.

Slot offers vary, you need to know which to avoid, some have massive wagering requirements, some are linked to a specific slot with a low rtp, I don't bother with these type of offers,

Ones with not too high wagering requirements, and that wagering can be done on slots with higher rtp I'll have a go if it's has a +ev (there's a ev calculator on OM where you can see if specific offers have a positive expected value.

SierraJensen · 08/06/2017 22:01

I got 7p on the Betfair spins, but £7 on William Hill's roulette.

Freckled take a look at the OddsMonkey guides - the Starspins/Heart/Virgin games seem to be a good starting point.

Also, take a look at the cashback sites, as sometimes you can make an offer risk-free that way (although you'll have to wait a while for your cashback!)

AloeAloe · 09/06/2017 13:08

Can I join you? Where is the dummies guide to getting started? Haven't the foggiest idea what to do. Do you all understand racing, football, politics and all that? Is it hard to learn? Total newbie with very little to invest.

HeyRoly · 09/06/2017 13:11

I joined Oddsmonkey (which is free to start with) and read/watched their tutorials.

SierraJensen · 09/06/2017 15:08

TeamProfit is another good starting point.

HeyRoly · 09/06/2017 15:54

William Hill have free scratchcards today.

ShinyGirl · 10/06/2017 09:46

Hello, I lost the thread.

I've got a few bits on today but nothing major. Well done on your £1000 Titchy.

ASauvingnonADay · 10/06/2017 13:20

Just about to get started... sounds exciting!

titchy · 10/06/2017 13:33

Placed my first bets. Scared that I've done it wrong! How soon will the free bet show?

louisejxxx · 10/06/2017 15:17

My aim for this week is to sign up for ladbrokes - they seem to have a lot of offers on at the minute.

OverthinkingSpartacus · 10/06/2017 17:09

It varies from bookie to bookie when free bets show.

Some are immediately available, some bookies it 24/48 hours after qualifying bet being settled. It's usually in the terms and conditions on sign up/promo details.

I'd recommend logging everything, as you sign up to more it can be hard keeping track of where free bets are due when you have severel other bookies you're doing offer and promos with. I ended up buying a blank journal and it set so I can turn to a page and see where I need to claim free bets, finish wagering etc

AloeAloe · 10/06/2017 17:43

ASauvignon, I did the same as you today. Had to be done while baby was asleep. Read Oddsmonkey tutorials, enrolled on Betfair and Coral. Tried to pick and place first bets and flapped. Did I do both as Backs? Coral site misloaded for Burundi football match (where?) so picked Tanzania! Ahhhhh. Never sweated so much over placing£10. Really not sure what I'm doing. Does it get easier? Did you go for Oddsmonkey premium? Well done Titchy. Can't imagine how you did that! In awe of you!!!

ASauvingnonADay · 10/06/2017 17:46

Thanks Spartacus!

Aloe - ditto re sweating over £10 🙈 in fact, put a fair bit more on Betfair.. not sure if I did it right..!

HeyRoly · 10/06/2017 21:10

I keep messing up with the Coral bet club. First week I lost the free bet because I didn't realise the window to place it was so small (it gets allocated on a Friday and expires on Sunday night). This week I logged in to place it and it wasn't there. Turns out that you have to log in EVERY WEEK.

Needless to say, I prefer the Sky bet club! No need to opt in, and they email you when the free bet lands in your account.

HeyRoly · 10/06/2017 21:20

I mean opt in, not log in!

GoAndAskDaddy · 10/06/2017 22:46

Does anyone have problems placing bets with Coral? Have cash in acct but won't let me place a bet. Could it be that I'm new and account isn't verified?
