Delete - Paypal often has fees attached and you can't use it for many of the offers as far as I know. Try Skrill. I use them and they are fab.

I prefer Oddsmonkey to PA - cheaper too.

DeleteOrDecay · 24/04/2017 10:44

Thank you heavenly I will check Skrill out. I could use my bank account but I don't want to get it frozen and don't fancy faffing about down my local branch opening a new one. Might see if I can open one online, I can definitely open a savings account online. Can you transfer to/from a savings account? Sorry for all the newbie questions, there's so much to take in.

GardeningWithDynamite · 24/04/2017 10:57

@OverthinkingSpartacus - it was me that was asking about how to do the bingo. I was hoping to have a go this week some time - just a bit nervous about doing it for the first time!

@HeavenlyEyes - I think I'm going to get a Skrill account too. It looks like they're a pretty good idea. I think some of the new account offers are credit/debit card only. Do you know anything about coupon arbitrage? I think they do cashback or something.

HeavenlyEyes · 24/04/2017 11:17

I opened a Halifax account online for betting use only. But tbh as I use Skrill now I only use the account to pay money into from Skrill. Yes I posted about Coupon Arbitrage earlier. Good bingo and casino cashback offers and I get about a tenner a month from linking my Skrill to them and earning turnover cashback.

SierraJensen · 24/04/2017 12:22

What are the fees like with skrill? Tried looking on their site but just got an error.

imnottoofussed · 24/04/2017 12:25

Started doing some risk free bets last night, just a little warning to everyone to read the tutorial where it says the odds - genting specifically only let you use your free bet on odds of 5.0 or lower.

I didn't notice, put my back bet on genting and lay bet in betfair then noticed back bet at genting hadn't gone through - so I had to cash out my lay bet and make a loss of about 90p.

MillieMoodle · 24/04/2017 12:27

Think it's going to be a slow week for me, have got loads tied up in the netbet offer which needs to roll over 6 times the deposit and bonus before I can withdraw anything. Currently have £350 stuck in there and another £750 to roll over. Have had real trouble finding bets I can make where there is enough liquidity in the exchange, so have ended up betting on two football matches which won't settle until Wednesday and Saturday. Meaning I don't have much left in the exchange either at the moment. Aargh.

Should have a free sky bet today though!

HeyRoly · 24/04/2017 12:43

What happens when you use up all the free sign up offers?

I'm new to this so I'm nowhere near using up all the new customer offers yet, but that's the point where you start getting existing customer offers. Oddsmonkey tutorials seems to have it all covered, so I'm glad I signed up with them.

GardeningWithDynamite · 24/04/2017 12:59

@MillieMoodle - I've got my sky bet - can't find any good matches in football at the moment. I don't think I've done any of the offers with big rollovers yet either.

OverthinkingSpartacus · 24/04/2017 14:39

@deleteordecay

I'm with Barclays and can transfer money to and from savings within seconds.

When I signed up Online I decided the option to use savings account online for purchases, kicking myself now as would have been great for this.

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 24/04/2017 14:41

Does anyone else still hold their breath when filling in the betting slips? Blush

I know there's no risk but I'm still surprised when I actually make money! I'm not brave enough to bet on horse racing though, those odds change like the wind Shock and I'm still too slow.

neonrainbow · 24/04/2017 15:06

I opened a new current account online with my usual bank which gets me a debit card. So I'm going to use that. some of the free bets will not allow you to use skrill.

Lauren1983 · 24/04/2017 15:11

Could I have a bingo code as well please, spartacus?

Madbengalmum · 24/04/2017 15:25

Hi all, new to this but just getting my ducks in a row before taking the plunge.

Am i right in thinking then that I should really open a skrill account, or is a normal current account ok?
Also a separate email account to do this well, if so who with?

And finally, when you all talk about opening a betting account what is the maximum you put in to start with to achieve some good returns?

Thanks

sherrifffatman · 24/04/2017 15:58

I also have some Tombola codes now if anyone wants them, pm me 😀

FiveHoursSleep · 24/04/2017 17:42

I had a bit of a scare where I thought I had done something wrong and couldn't access £150 on Betfair that I deposited on Friday.
But it's all there today, plus the extra I expected.
The guy at Oddsmonkey explained it all to me very patiently.
I agree with what someone said about the horse odd changing very quickly, you need to be fast for those.
I have learnt my lesson though and am no longer going to do anything when the kids are around. You need to be able to concentrate!

titchy · 24/04/2017 18:27

Fuck me I'm up £250 at the end of day 6 ShockShockShock

Admittedly £100 was a mistake that went my way, but bloody hell!!!

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 24/04/2017 18:32

You definitely do need to concentrate FiveHours I've ended up betting on a game that's taking place tomorrow not today so a fair chunk of my money is now tied up in liability Blush

HeyRoly · 24/04/2017 19:10

What's the secret titchy? That's a great result!

FiveHoursSleep · 24/04/2017 19:14

Also, a lot of the offers say one offer per household. So DH can't do the same offers as I do? Unless he logins in from work?
I'm using our home computer, what about if he used his phone data?

HeyRoly · 24/04/2017 19:20

It's not just about sharing an IP address though five, it's about sharing a home address. So for your DH to take advantage of these offers, he'd have to lie about where he lived too. So I'm really not sure if there's a way around it.

titchy · 24/04/2017 19:27

Not sure, though I have put in £850 - all now withdrawn, to start, mostly at the exchange but £100 to Bet365 who doubled it.

HeyRoly · 24/04/2017 19:36

Ah I see. Sadly my float isn't that big so I'll have to plug away a bit slower!

DeleteOrDecay · 24/04/2017 19:51

What float do people generally start off with, would £50 suffice for a beginner?

SandyDays · 24/04/2017 19:52

Anyone finding they can't use a mobile phone to link from oddsmonkey calculator to the betting sites? It's so annoying, it just takes me to the betfred home page
