The suspense is killing me. Grin

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 18:12

Does he know who your DH is married to? Wink

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 19:25

AMWAY!!!

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 19:29

I've never mentioned anything about MLMs to my DH, it's never come up, but he came home a bit bemused by the way this chap didn't mention what his business was for at least 15 mins, it was all about his fab lifestyle
But my DH had heard of Amway years and years ago so his antenna twitched
Needless to say I've been educating him for the past 2 hours!!!

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 19:29

Goodness. How has DH reacted?

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 19:30

X post. Wink

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 19:48

He said no thank you (I've warned him that no is not taken as no so he might hear from him again)

He is now incensed at the way this chap tried to hook him in, he recognised a lot of 'lines' once I'd told him (including 'residual income'

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 19:54

He met this chap originally in the cafe in the building where he (DH) has an office. When he first mentioned him I assumed that he (the bot) also has an office there but apparently not!

I reckon he hangs around the cafe looking for prospects. It's a building full of entrepreneurs/ buildings start ups and is owned by a university, a sort of business park on the university campus.

I've told my DH he must tell the university about this man

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 19:54
  • Entrepreneurs/ business start ups
cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 19:55

The chap might be new at it. (If he had an interest in golf and work life balance but had never tried to rope in DH before etc etc.)

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 20:14

He'd only come across him a couple of times in the building, super friendly. The fact that he doesn't have an office there makes me v suspicious

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 20:15

My DH now wants to kill him

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 20:15

Also he's never told him his surname or contact details

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 20:25

Now that is definitely 'off'. I'd absolutely have a word about him. How is he managing to get in there for starters?

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 20:27

Remember, there's no guarantee that he isn't pulling this stunt elsewhere, either.

Spongebobette · 25/10/2016 20:43

I know, it's outrageous.

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 20:47

It would speak volumes, possibly, about the building's security if he's not actually based there.

GoldTippedFeather · 26/10/2016 10:44

Hi all, been reading with interest for a while now. Have a couple of half-hearted bots on my Facebook but fortunately no one in full brainwashed mode. Well until possibly now...

I have a family member (who lives in another European country, and is very naive) who has become a part of B:Hip, I have googled and it has all the hallmarks of an mlm, little info about the products, lots of "positive vibes" and "blessed" nonsense. My relative also went to a big party where they seemed to have purchased a job lot of fancy champagne as they were all holding it in the pictures or photographing buckets of empty bottles of the stuff. They arrived by helicopter etc.

However my relative doesn't seem to be selling anything, she seems to work as an assistant to a woman who also doesn't appear to be selling anything, she (relative's boss) has been given a nice apartment in the Far East and is always travelling for conferences etc but no mention of products or amazing opportunities for others. Just a lot about how amazing her new job is and how blessed she is.

So really my questions are, has anyone heard of this company and if so is it in the same box as younique etc? And do MLMs have salaried members? I assume they do at a head office sort of level, I am just concerned for her but worried concern is misplaced and she has actually (finally) just found a nice job.

Spongebobette · 26/10/2016 12:18

Yup looks like MLMy McMLMerson

Products are vitamin supplements etc

Is DH minded to find out more, today, about this person who invited him for coffee? Smile

Spongebobette · 26/10/2016 14:10

He has decided to investigate more, find out his full name (but he will have to wait until he sees him or is contacted again) and is going to ask for his CV

cozietoesie · 26/10/2016 14:38

Good. In the meantime, might I suggest that he runs a very tight ship at his offices in that building? Smile

Toobusytowee · 26/10/2016 15:09

Goldtippedfeather, the founder of that MLM has a bit of a dodgy past according to this website- behindmlm.com/companies/rippln-securities-fraud-terry-lacore-the-sec/

Yes, MLMs have paid positions at their head offices- legal, training, payroll, that sort of thing. Generally they don't brag about their lifestyle though, they are just normal people. If your relative is bragging or exaggerating her lifestyle she will be a bot.

Spongebobette · 26/10/2016 15:45

Yes Cozie, indeed!

Legogo · 26/10/2016 19:40

Evening all. Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing with a question.

A Younique seller has posted on my local mums Facebook page. It's a recruitment post (SURPRISE). Usual shit. I want to report or reply...what's best? Can I say anything to the effect of 'Stay well away'?

Thanks.
