Yes, I saw that sponge. I just wondered why the bot put out a video saying she was doing the training at the university. On the same date. Maybe she's confused?

fitgirl26 · 01/11/2016 08:45

Someone that I have admired for years as an international fitness presenter has turned into an Arbonne Bot. I am soooooo disappointed.

TFPsa · 01/11/2016 09:54

On a whim I had a quick look at the FB page of a really nice girl from school who I've not seen in forever.

I noted that she's recently started teaching yoga teacher & become fond of using those pictures with motivational slogans.

I also noticed that she recently attended a conference run by some motivational speaker named Tony Robbins. Wondering what this was all about I checked out his next one, prices are unbelievable, generally north of £500 from what I could make out. I was shocked. Made me wonder whether this sort of nonsense [conventions] mightn't where the real MLM money is, with everything else a bit of a distraction?

thetemptationofchocolate · 01/11/2016 12:20

TFP that's exactly where the money is made.
When I was a bot there were Products (things we used/sold to others) and Tools (motivational tapes, books and meetings). We were told that the Tools were sold to us at cost and no profit was made on them. That was a lie, and it was how the bots at the top of the pile were making their money.

Spongebobette · 01/11/2016 17:04

I look at the top FL bots' Facebook pages from time to time to see what they are up to.
Interesting that they seem to be looking for new recruits (I'd assumed that they'd get their down lines to do that, but no, they are still hustling away)
Other than that, it's the so called attraction marketing that's so blatant....the 'show offiness' is cringeworthy! 'Look at my new house, my new sofa has been delivered, look at my party room aren't you all impressed?'
No one in a real business would dream of shoving their success in your face with every little detail of what they are buying.
Stop it you silly bots, you are embarrassing.

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 01/11/2016 18:00

Toobusy She implied the venue was at Stirling University because it gives the meeting a veneer of respectability, reputability, propriety, legality. It is all part of the lies and deceit these MLM bots practice as a matter of course. They rely on people making (the wrong) assumptions .

TFP and temptation it is definitely true that any money being made is by producing/selling the tools and the conferences. Any bots having success will be doing this. Certainly not by selling products, no matter what they try to tell us.

"We were told that the Tools were sold to us at cost and no profit was made on them". When I read Merchants of Deception, about Amway, the author, Eric Scheibeler, was also told this. It is a big fat lie, as he found out, to his horror.

Sponge, it beggars belief that anyone in a 'real' business with a 'real' job would EVER boast about such stuff in public or on social media.

SO crass, embarrassing, and cringeworthy. Only those involved in MLM companies do this, it is a big tell that they do, and to be wary. Yuck.

I know bots read this thread so please, please WAKE UP, don't you realise how crass it is to post these boastful comments on fb? No one with real jobs has to do this, why do you?

Spongebobette · 01/11/2016 18:10

Crass is the word, certainly, mycats

And, poor old not, if you are reduced to boasting about a DFS sofa, well, I am not sure that that induces envy!!

Spongebobette · 01/11/2016 18:11

Large organisations often try to do 'more of the same' because they have so much - and not just money - invested in their current method of operation that they can't easily change it. After all, it worked in the past, they argue Wink so why bother to alter things? They think, as well, that they're 'up to date' just because they now have people using the internet and social media.

They're wrong, I fear.

Spongebobette · 01/11/2016 21:08

Look how easy it is to make money from the suckers (people who are desperate to make it)

Charge 30 quid for some aspirational derivative NLP rubbish, all online so easy peasy and no limit on numbers, and coin it in

Ah the enigmatic Phil Jones Grin former sofa salesman Angry

Spongebobette · 01/11/2016 22:14

Really? Not a neuroscientist, a FTSE 100 company chairman or a Chartered Psychologist, then?

Ladiva1971 · 02/11/2016 01:14

It's very rare that they take pics from family holidays abroad think I have seen just 2, I find this quite odd cause when they go away Hmm with the family they completely leave social media, where as I am sure most of us are more actively spamming pics from the beach / pool etc Confused however when they go to brainwashing Training meetings they post like 100 pics................

Spongebobette no sadly not. He used to sell sofas...

Spongebobette · 02/11/2016 09:52

ladiva there's real life and there's pretend Facebook attraction marketing life

Cindy34 · 02/11/2016 13:36

Tony Robbins : I am not your guru. A Netflix documentary. It was quite interesting, something to pass an hour or so on a dull winters evening.

Motivational speakers have been around for decades. The MLM companies have no doubt realised that they are a money making opportunity (for them) and help keep their bots focused.

BethanyBarleywater · 03/11/2016 07:16

Has anyone got any new info on Lifetree World?

fitgirl26 · 03/11/2016 09:06

The Gohan brothers have buggered off to Onecoin. Seems like they did the same thing with ACN. Diehard LTW Bots are swearing allegiance and will probably go down with the sinking ship. Accusations of money owed are flying around. It's interesting....

fitgirl26 · 03/11/2016 09:08

No not One Coin, Coinspace. All these dodgy currency MLMs seem to merge only

fitgirl26 · 03/11/2016 09:09

*merge into one.
#fatfingers

Spongebobette · 03/11/2016 10:08

Just looked for Coinspace on FB

What's a cryptocurrency when it's at home?

fitgirl26 · 03/11/2016 10:20

A cryptocurrency is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange using cryptography to secure the transactions and to control the creation of additional units of the currency.
It can also help you lose weight and cures diabetes plus you can save money on your shopping.

mrswhiplington · 03/11/2016 11:20

A very close relative of mine has been taken over by Doterra Essential Oils. She got involved a few months ago, got taken in by the spiel about earnings and left her lucrative but stressful career. It is now all going pear shaped. She and her husband can't afford their massive mortgage at the moment, so have arranged a mortgage break! She is doing some other part-time work to earn cash but it's not enough, and she will not give up the Doterra. Up to now she has made a couple of hundred pounds.

She won't listen to anyone, her husband is frightened of upsetting her so tiptoes around the issue. They could lose their house and they have 2 children. What can we say to make her understand it is never going to work. She loves these oils but is not allowed to sell them, only recruit!

Can anyone help. Thanks.

cozietoesie · 03/11/2016 11:50

I am afraid that there are some very harsh realities about MLM activity.

These threads don't contain posters exercised only over some small dereliction. People here see real tragedies occurring to ordinary people on a regular basis.

He needs to safeguard himself and their children immediately. The link below may be useful reading for you all.
