Haha! Do the It Works bots remove their customers' brains through their noses before or after they wrap them up in bandages and dump their remains in the bowels of a pyramid?

GrabbyGrabby · 22/11/2016 19:05

😂 At this thread....

RaspberryOverloadTheFirst · 22/11/2016 19:32

Thanks for the info on Phoenix Trader. At my school Xmas fair we have Avon, Body Shop, Arbonne, Phonix Trader people taking a stall. However, we have a policy that we restrict brands to one stall per brand, so I have turned down subsequent enquiries from these MLMs.

cozietoesie · 22/11/2016 20:09

Interesting. They're planning to share a stall?

acatcalledjohn · 22/11/2016 22:27

I find it such a shame that the Body Shop has entered the direct sales world. I love their stuff, but will only buy online or in store. There is no way I would ever buy from a direct sales consultant.

Which is probably why I've never tried Avon, despite good feedback. The business model has always put me off, even before I became more aware of how MLMs operate. They've always seemed slightly iffy.

BSintolerant · 22/11/2016 23:41

GrabbyGrabby this is no place for laughter. The MLM Resistance will torture you with wet parslaii if they catch you giggling! 😂🙈

If you really want to mock the afflicted have a look at the "In memory of those we have lost to mlms" thread. It's an online book of condolence for the nearly departed who have been sucked in, chewed up, and have yet to be spat out by the MLM Industry. Light a candle (as long as it's not scentsy), lay a parslaii wreath, and remember to keep your belongings with you at all times. 😉

fitgirl26 · 23/11/2016 09:49

Ha ha - just seen the Arriix stuff! Why is Officer above Senior Vice President? Why is there no Senior Director level? Where is Flappy Pigeon?

Spongebobette · 23/11/2016 10:23

Just below Soaring Flappy Pigeon, I imagine.
And just above One Legged Pigeon.

Don't feed the pigeons!!

Spongebobette · 23/11/2016 11:49

I need to stop looking at bots' FB pages.

The FB algorithms target me with this sort of shit now

....with the right words, you can dramatically shift these conversations in your favor! ....

Which sort of says it all, really? Smile

BSintolerant · 23/11/2016 13:22

Sponge Grin

Don't feed the pigeons is good advice, especially as shit rolls downhill, all the way to the bottom of the pyramid!

ThereIsOneRoomLeft · 23/11/2016 20:54

Found this thread as I have a friend who has been suckered in by an MLM. She has recruited a couple of others already, her facebook posts use every possible opportunity to plug the beauty products. I think its too late to get my mate back at this stage? She seems totally brainwashed by it :( even sent me messages that are less than subtle about me knowing anyone who needs to lose weight and to send them her way (I do need to lose weight and have chatted to her before I was aware she had been brainwashed) and she keeps plugging the products to me and she KNOWS I'm going through hell and back with the ex and totally skint yet get another pm a week or so again trying to get me to join an online party :( . I fear she is lost forever :( However on the other hand if I see one more post about her wrapping herself to lose weight or having the 'delicious' nutri slim shake thing, when she has as much fat on her as a chip I may just scream.

Also know a Younique presenter, It Works, both of whom in RL are inarticulate and have no social skills, yet really strangely friendly and positive online, like jekell and hyde...and two couples, one doing stocks and shares, just 5 min a day of work? (and doing the usual positive lifestyle posts) and one who can travel the world for 'point's. The mind boggles...just hate the fact they are encouraged to con friends and family too.

Thanks for reading, just feel the need to vent with folks who understand it all. Should also say my dad after working for a normal business all his life was made redundant when I was a teen, then had the awful sight of my dad who is totally socially inarticulate, do presentations to our friends parents selling Amway products. He got out thank goodness, but the memory of what that company got him to do still resonates today :(

Spongebobette · 23/11/2016 21:30

A warm welcome to you OneRoom

Everyone on this thread has lost people to MLMs, we see the harm they do and it's frustrating and upsetting to see previously rational people turn into 'bots'

Btw I think you have coined a great phrase there 'Forever Lost'!!!

Spongebobette · 23/11/2016 21:31

Oh sorry 'Lost Forever'

Even better

cozietoesie · 23/11/2016 21:34

You might find this an interesting read, OneRoom.

How to help someone in an MLM

gottaloveascamhun · 23/11/2016 22:17

My forever bot has taken down her FB aloe page and any references to FL from her personal page
I haven't seen her for a while but have messaged her to see if she's ok.
FL Christmas advert - totally laughable. Lots of gushing comments underneath... wonder how many negative comments have been deleted by FL?

BSintolerant · 23/11/2016 23:20

Gottaloveascamhun - how long was your bot in Forever Fibbing? I hope she doesn't get sucked into arseliiiix or Jizz Plus.

As for that video - words don't fail me: it's a load of horse shit! At least there's a little bit of sarcasm amidst the gush in the comments. Grin

imfinallyfree · 23/11/2016 23:58

Come across a friend doing JP shakes and capsules. Luckily enough (so far) she's not been converted to a rep, yet tracking her progress online. Managed to talk to her and tell her to swap the shakes and capsules for a homemade fruit and veg shake she makes herself while following a healthy balanced diet. And lo and behold (as she has documented herself on Facebook) she has lost weight these past 2 weeks juicing herself! Hopefully now she will see what a scam it all is and stop using JP all together

gottaloveascamhun · 24/11/2016 19:54

Good advice imfinallyfree. BS 2 years I think but within that time she's been v quiet for the past year or so. No more photos of lovely family life with strategically placed products in the background, invites to online parties etc. She recruited her sister which probably wasn't wise!

Spongebobette · 24/11/2016 21:43

Eh?

HmmConfused

fitgirl26 · 24/11/2016 22:50

I have a JP Bot who is having a coconut water and chocolate shake for breakfast and lunch and a small meal of fish and veg in the evening plus she's taking all the JP crappy "magic beans". Guess what - she's losing (or loosing as she puts it) weight. No shit Sherlock.
