I've come across Usborne before. The main criticism of them is that they pay a lot of their incentives and bonuses in books. The defence is that the sellers are doing it for the books, not as an income maker.

Spongebobette · 14/11/2016 09:38

Ha I'm imagining trying to pay your council tax with Usborne books

PeachBellini123 · 14/11/2016 10:41

Ah makes sense. She keeps posting the books she has for her kids. She must get those one as her 'bonuses'

Hi all, excellent work! FYI: "Is the DSA Ignoring Illegal Health Claims?"

"Despite declarations by the Direct Selling Association (DSA) that it is committed to business ethics, a TINA.org investigation has found that 97 percent of DSA member companies selling nutritional supplements have distributors marketing their products with illegal health claims. Not only are distributors making dubious claims but TINA.org also documented DSA member companies making health claims that violate the law."

Interesting and indepth analysis

Hi

Does anyone know where I can find info on the FL incomes? I've seen a statement somewhere (on the Younique one I think) , where it gives the percentage of IBOs who earn certain amounts etc, does such a thing exist for FL?

darceybussell · 14/11/2016 14:35

I don't think there is one sponge, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the reason they don't publish an income disclosure statement is because their average income numbers are sooo much higher than all the other MLMs that it would blow our tiny minds!

Or not.

Spongebobette · 14/11/2016 14:47

That's annoying, I'd really like to see one for FL

Oh I've just remembered it was an Arbonne income disclosure statement I'd seen.

WillThatComeOffEasily · 14/11/2016 14:50

Quick question. Is #makingmemories an MLM hashtag? Friend has went a bit odd on FB...

She's also invited 'mums only' to a festive morning at her house in December....

Spongebobette · 14/11/2016 14:56

Hmm dunno, just dos a quick search and it came up with lots of random unconnected stuff

Spongebobette · 15/11/2016 00:43

Does anyone buy Cosmo?

Apparently this is in it this month? (Taken from a bot's page)

At some point in my twenties (a couple of millennia back) GrinI realised that glossy women's magazines were marketing a lifestyle and body image beyond the reach of most women. Also that they are immensely reliant upon their advertising which makes them extremely uncritical when it comes to the claims they make on behalf of cosmetic products and other ridiculous products marketed to women.

So no, I don't read it Wink

Toobusytowee · 15/11/2016 23:28

Sponge, there are no FL income figures. Even in Canada where it is the law to disclose it. I asked FL in the UK for the figures and they asked me exactly what figures I wanted. I told them. They haven't replied...

Spongebobette · 16/11/2016 09:42

So does this mean they'll have to provide this data just for for Canadian FL? Or will they be required to disclose the whole company's data?

Toobusytowee · 16/11/2016 10:11

The law in Canada says that MLMs must disclose the income figures for their members in Canada. FL do not do this. I have visited the Canadian website for other MLMs to get their info but it doesn't work for FL. And it's not because I just can't access it from the UK. People in Canada can't find it either.

Spongebobette · 16/11/2016 11:58

Hmm what can be done about this?
Are FL fairly new in Canada?

Toobusytowee · 16/11/2016 13:38

I don't think they are new in Canada. If a company is new in Canada they are supposed to give figures for another country so you can get the gist of what it will be like. I've seen some companies give American figures there when they are new.

Spongebobette · 16/11/2016 15:49

How are they getting away with not giving theses figures then I wonder 😳

cozietoesie · 17/11/2016 16:27

They're big.

mnaddict1 · 17/11/2016 20:54

Does anyone who has a job (I am a sahm- mum prime target!) feel compelled to take photos of their office daily? Hmm

cozietoesie · 17/11/2016 21:26

Yes - you are a prime target. At least you're forewarned, though. Smile

Spongebobette · 17/11/2016 21:41

My job takes me out and about to lots of places but strangely I've never felt the urge to take constant photos and share them on social media.

Perhaps that's because I am not trying to persuade people to do my job too?

CheekySmile · 17/11/2016 22:02

I work from home, flexibly around my kids and self-employed. Never taken a photo of my office and shared it. But like sponge I'm not recruiting for competitors for my business in my area, that would be ludicrous...

BSintolerant · 17/11/2016 23:29

How many of you have rubbed Mary Kay primer all over your oranges before posting before and after shots on social media? Nell Gwynn was born in the wrong era.

I know you can buy waxed lemons, but this is ridiculous!

If you think I've been sniffing glue, have a look at the latest Timeless Vie post.

Spongebobette · 17/11/2016 23:40

Blimey.
Because orange peel and skin are the same

It's the liberal sprinkling of emoticons that is a telltale sign of a fully botted bot!

BSintolerant · 18/11/2016 00:16

Of course they're the same, Sponge. You can have a skin peel and orange peel. Years ago kids used to get an orange in their Christmas stockings, and bank robbers put stockings over their faces to avoid being recognised at success days. Pity those giant cheques give them away. Wink
