CULT

dylsmimi · 23/08/2016 22:55

sponge that video of the top ranking bot moved from it works to somewhere else but she is only saying where to those who 'pm me hun'
When she was at 'it works' it was all green hair, matching clothes, party houses and holidays
She is very influential in my friends life and I am wondering if she too will move MLMs.
It's all so fake it makes me cross and sad

ForeverYazoonique · 23/08/2016 22:57

Gosh Sponge you're right "the called" makes it sound even more like a cult than usual. Chilling.

Spongebobette · 23/08/2016 23:05

Yes, basically ignore common sense, ignore the facts, ignore the evidence, ignore your loved ones and friends because you are the only one who KNOWS
Scary stuff

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 24/08/2016 07:38

That is an extraordinary post, sponge, and it sums up beautifully the brainwashing needed to keep the downline slogging away fruitlessly for a few more weeks or months to make money for the upline.

When your instinct is screaming at you "this is not working and actually never will".

When those who care for you are telling you "stop this nonsense please, we are worried about you".

When you are having to spend more and more money on products and training (investing? Hmm), and getting into debt Sad.

When you have alienated and offended your family and friends, and people are avoiding you, and you are having to exploit friendships in order to make sales.

When you are spending every single waking moment (and your waking starts at 6am and doesn't end until midnight, if you are lucky) trying and trying to be successful, seven days a week.

When you don't get to spend quality time with family any more, because you are always looking for recruits and sales everywhere (even on holiday you have to spend time working on your phone).

The list goes on.

Having read The Merchants of Deception, about Amway's business practices, it all sounds horribly familiar; keep the members enslaved with culty, isolating behaviour, keep them hoping they will soon be successful as long as they follow the formula.

It.Never.Happens.

Wow Sponge that first part of the facebook post looks like a checklist for someone who is heading for depression/anxiety. Sad

forevercrass · 24/08/2016 09:48

Morning Hunz, hope everyone is well? Have we all drank our gunk aloe this morning? Hope so remember "product of the product" how can you convince someone to buy from you if you don't use it yourself? Buy buy buy and make your upline rich
I'm sick that I was ever involved in this. I have been speaking to a few lowly bots around me (threading carefully) and I'm getting through to some! This pleases me greatly. I know a few who now have decided to stop after my honest chat with them.
The ones at the top though are just bloody bullies. Witnessing serious bullying going on at the minute. I introduced the girl being bullied to timeless vie as I wanted her to know she wasn't alone. I really think FLP will crash soon!

HawkingsMead · 24/08/2016 09:55

Also, thank you cozietoesie for the link.

xenu1 · 24/08/2016 10:06

cats "keep them hoping they will soon be successful as long as they follow the formula. It.Never.Happens."
What is fiendish is that the "formula" is how the MLM topdogs make the money - from tools and seminars and meeting charges. Reinforcing the cult and getting the members to pay for the privilege! I have many Amway tapes (bought from Ebay for pennies) and they all say "Follow the System" (buy books, tapes, rallies...) until the poor dupe leaves or goes bankrupt. It;s long, and the hardsell kicks in at 2hrs 10min,s but this is an excellent example

Spongebobette · 24/08/2016 10:40

That's really scary xenu
I skipped ahead to 2:10 and he basically just tells them to spend money.

Tupperwarelid · 24/08/2016 11:13

What is also sad is that the ones who realise that fl is failing or aren't making any money now the compensation plan has changed aren't necessarily getting out. They are just swapping to another, also unworkable, mlm in the belief the new one is different / better / more exciting. It's not- they are all the same!!

forevercrass · 24/08/2016 11:45

I certainly would NEVER get involved in an MLM again. They are all the same whether it's aloe or makeup that you are flogging. It's not about the product. It's underlying principles are all the same

forevercrass · 24/08/2016 11:46

I have however heard rumours that I'm joining ariix from other FL People!

smiinky · 24/08/2016 11:48

its so depressing, I'm in more than one Maelle group (for reasearch purposes cough) and almost every woman in there is ex Younique, reasons given for it not working was too many sellers, upline not being supportive, product was shit. Yet they're all lining up to spend £59 on something they've never seen, they don't know what the quality is like, it's really insane. The Maelle thing really intrigues me as there is nothing but a shit ton of attraction marketing and a dream, it's made me realise how easy it is to coin it in if you have enough deception. Even the stuff you get photos of sneak previews of, everyone is saying it's 'amazing' but I just can''t see it. I expect the skincare is average, the eyeshadow looks like a knock off of Urban Decay. Even the 'italian factory' they use, they do realise that the world and it's wife makes in that factory? From Kiko, to Tesco to Charlotte Tilbury? it's a factory FFS. It's meaningless. The whole thing is attraction marketing with bells on.

Spongebobette · 24/08/2016 12:19

It's all about getting in before it hits 'momentum phase'

cozietoesie · 24/08/2016 12:26

Very slight correction, there, Sponge. It's all about making people feel they've got in early. This is all heavily controlled to make people feel 'special' and 'privileged' in some way.

cozietoesie · 24/08/2016 12:37

They're not individuals, much as they might like to think it - just numbers on a spreadsheet.

Spongebobette · 24/08/2016 12:37

Yes you are right as always Cozie

Spongebobette · 24/08/2016 13:21

Oh my FL bot has ONE 'like' on her posts

Oh, it's her. She's liking her own posts from her other account

Tragic

cozietoesie · 24/08/2016 13:26

I'm surprised that FB actually allow you to do that?

Toobusytowee · 24/08/2016 15:12

My bot friend always likes her own posts. Usually a day after writing them. Then she'll comment. Then her husband will like it. It's a way of keeping the post popping up again and again in their friends' feeds.

cozietoesie · 24/08/2016 15:18

A friend or partner is one thing, but I was under the impression that FB's T&Cs didn't allow you to maintain more than one individual account. I guess I'm wrong?

Spongebobette · 24/08/2016 15:36

You can like your own posts. Strangely!

My bot has a personal account and a 'Galactic Business Coach' one

cozietoesie · 24/08/2016 16:04

Interesting. Thanks, Sponge. I thought you had to change your personal account to a Business one to stay within the rules, so I must have got that one wrong - or be out of date.

CheekySmile · 24/08/2016 16:19

But you can like your business posts from your personal page Cozie - a lot of bot's do that.
