Domestic, I liked that pie chart too. Nu Skin don't actually produce an income disclosure statement but some people put that pie chart together by using statements put out by the company.

Green tea supplements are not classed as having medicinal properties so no one should be making those claims. You are right though, bots are implicitly encouraged to make these claims and then take the blame for it if they are called on it.

Moomoommmonkey,

Have a look at this link from the CAP guidelines which advise on what is and isn't allowed in advertising. These rules are upheld by the ASA.

www.cap.org.uk/Advice-Training-on-the-rules/Advice-Online-Database/Testimonials-and-endorsements.aspx#.V3QaTiMrLL8

The most relevant bit there is 'do not pose as a consumer'. If the person providing the testimonial is a seller of the product, they cannot provide a testimonial. There is a good page of information there and also links to the right in the box with links to other parts of the code.

Toobusytowee · 29/06/2016 20:09

Moomoomonkey,

The two relevant links to the right in that box are the one on healthcare and the one on food supplementation. They mention that if a health claim is made, the product has to be covered by the MHRA with the correct licensing. The food supplemetation rules say that allowable claims only can be made. E.g iron can make you feel less tired if you are anaemic. They cannot say an iron supplement can help with pain relief. There is a list of allowable claims. Let me know if you want links for the MHRA and the list of allowable claims.

Well...
I have it on good authority that a certain blue gemstone manager (that featured in one of Timeless Vie's articles #fruitloop) hatched a bit of an elaborate/amusing plan to leave FLP after the next bonus payday, complete with fake profile, and take some of their downline with them...
Some clever ex-FLPs saw straight through it, head office got wind, the bot denied it all, but surprise surprise after being exposed on Facebook the fake profile vanished! Hmm

ForeverYazoonique · 30/06/2016 10:52

Oooooooooo Eau that does sound interesting.

Sorry have been hiding - Brexit has taken up all my thoughts. As an expat in the EU it's unsettling (as it is for everyone)

Foreverfibbing · 30/06/2016 12:00

Second that - Eau that does sound very interesting indeed!

Who could this gemstone manager be???

In other news, a lot of our favourite shill bots are moving house at the mo.

Latest tactic? Or tenancies up?

EauDeParslaii · 30/06/2016 12:39

Anyone remember #humblebot? ;)

Kanga59 · 30/06/2016 13:26

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 30/06/2016 15:48

Sootica here is the BotWatchBlog MLM Directory link. Scroll down for information on specific MLMs. They are in alphabetical order. There are several links that could be useful for you. Good luck.

Foreverfibbing · 30/06/2016 17:03

Anyone care to fill me in?

EauDeParslaii · 30/06/2016 17:15

Annie65 · 30/06/2016 18:22

Hmm, the plot thickens with Fl. I think I know who you are talking about but not 100% sure. Other news,I noticed on E bay a certain top bot couple are selling a few things, because of a " big house move". I listened to a couple of videos earlier, selling the Fl business to newbies. It is understandable why people would get sucked in. Unless, like us, you knew what a vicious scam these mlms are, they do sound like a dream come true.Hmm

That's about right Sootica! What with doing bot watching, looking after the kids, working and enjoying hobbies, I don't have time to wee. Luckily I don't have time to drink much either so it ends up not being too much of a problem.

NorbertDentressangle · 30/06/2016 20:49

Annie I noticed the ebay sales before their house move too. Do you reckon they're downsizing then?

I'm confused over who #humblebot was though. Confused

I remember there being talk and name changes like HrsHumblePants (IIRC) but lost as to who it was.

Seenthelight21 · 30/06/2016 20:57

Eau could you please fill me in too 😉
I'm curious & extremely nosy haha
Since leaving all these stories make me feel so much better 😀

Toobusytowee · 30/06/2016 21:20

I have updated the Juiceplus entry on BotWatchblog's directory to include evidence that Juiceplus recommend their tablets to pregnant women, which could actually harm the baby.

EauDeParslaii · 30/06/2016 21:44

Norbert, Seen
Check your messages soon my lovelies! X

Annie65 · 30/06/2016 22:29
