A "recruiting machine" - interesting choice of words.

Conjures up images if identical, faceless bots being churned out one after another, ad infinitum.

BSintolerant · 26/06/2016 17:24

Is there such a thing as recruiting machine balls? 😉

EauDeParslaii · 26/06/2016 20:07

All bowing down to the great lord Whoooaaarrr

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 26/06/2016 21:46

Just had a look at Bot Watch FB and there is a corker of a post by someone called Tracey, visitor posts. Shock

Toobusytowee · 26/06/2016 22:22

She's so rude isn't she? I've heard of comments like that before but not seen one for real.

MrGrumpy01 · 26/06/2016 23:21

I've got myself a JP bot.

It is relentless, but nothing too outlandish. Just spend a squillion pounds on pills type posts.

gottaloveascamhun · 27/06/2016 06:21

My younique bot has left in a cryptic flurry of 'life sometimes hands you challenges' and is now sooooo excited about Actilabs. Hmm

AdultingIsNotWhatIExpected · 27/06/2016 15:06

Have a bot who posted last Wed I think it was that she's not a politician so she didn't have to worry about the referendum because she's supporting herself, and isn't it a shame that more people aren't doing the same rather than trying to be politicians.

Don't vote y'all, the only real masters are in Utah after all!

Foreverfibbing · 27/06/2016 16:26

Just stumbled across an amusing forum on a Sunderland FC message board. Funniest post I've seen so far:

"Gentleman's pride, that some sort of cock rub..?"

Ha ha ha - will post the link in 2 ticks #hunz

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 27/06/2016 17:27

forever, that's a really good link Grin. It proves that we are not alone in our contempt of all things MLM.

Whatsaldigottodowithit · 27/06/2016 23:28

If we report a personal page run as a business page does the page owner find out who reported it?

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 08:21

No they don't. The last two times I did it though, Facebook said they disagreed with me.

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 08:22

I meant disagreed with me about the page being for business, not being anonymous.

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 08:55

Eyes sent a link...

www.legalreader.com/new-age-marketing-or-new-age-exploitation

The author of this linked article is Evan Grosch, an American legal academic. He first states that whilst some MLMs are legal according to the FTC's definition, the vast majority of MLMs are scams, but Evan Grosch then reluctantly concludes that MLM is a scam.

This article again proves just how difficult it is for new rational observers to confront the full-truth about the MLM phenomenon.

Hello. I've been following your threads without commenting before. I need some help! At my DDs school this morning there were signs promoting a "family health day" with Herbalife on the posters. I'm going to contact the head today but can anyone advise on what I should put in? Where can I get "evidence" of their dodgy dealings to link the head to? Seriously pissed off with the school about this!

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 14:11

Hi Ivy, that's dreadful! I hope you can get Herbalife banned from your school. Have a visit to botwatchblog.wordpress.com/2016/06/21/directory-of-mlm-information/ which has information on many MLMs, including a section on Herbalife. Maybe there's some links there you can use?

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 14:14

I have just been updating the database to add DoTERRA, an essential oils MLM. Look at this article that came up!

DomesticAnarchist · 28/06/2016 20:31

Hellooo? Do you mind everso if I pop in?

I'm not sure I meet the criteria. I fear my friend's "business" might be at the more legitimate end.

What do you know about Nu Skin?

I was doing well ignoring it and not adding sarky/PA comments till the outlandish claims she made for Green Tea Capsules.

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 20:55

Hello and welcome domesticanarchist. There is no criteria for joining in the conversation, everyone is welcome.

Visit the Botwatchblog link I gave a few posts ago. There is information there on a load of MLMs, including NuSkin. They are in alphabetical order so it is easy to find.

Ivytheterrible · 28/06/2016 21:18

Well I emailed the headteacher but had no response. However when collecting my daughter the adverts for the sessions had been removed. On closer inspection of the newsletter the sessions are mentioned but Herbalife are not. It is also a weekly session until the end of term Shock. I know one of the parent governors so win talk to her about it as well.

Toobusytowee · 28/06/2016 21:40

That might be positive Ivy. The head is probably looking into the issue more and trying to work out what to do. Keep us updated.

HelenaDove · 29/06/2016 14:05

I have some news. Thankfully my old school friend who was doing Younique seems to have switched to Avon.

DomesticAnarchist · 29/06/2016 14:15

Thanks for your links. I've learned that my unfortunate friend is unlikely to make any money selling products (there was a nice pie chart) and will probably start recruiting soon.

I've unfollowed her, I won't be able to say anything nice.

Considering its Nuskin, and primarily a cosmetics thing, I was amazed at the health claims she posted with the green tea capsules. Although, interestingly, the company itself doesn't make those claims. Presumably so they're not liable and can blame the individual sellers.

Moomoomonkey · 29/06/2016 17:21

I believe it was on here that I read that juice plus reps weren't allowed to use testimonials? Does anyone have the link?
